Didn't you listen.....? she was basically drunk during their whole holiday.....maybe that's one of the reason she went, because she would have stayed drunk the whole time.
She was said to have a fear of washing her hair when she was a child. And understanding the logic behind other people's fears is pretty much impossible.
The coroner was the same coroner they had for Marilyn Monroe. It was if he was the coroner to the stars...Just sayin'... And YES Hart to Hart was a huge hit. I remember when it was on.
My theory is that Wagner was beginning to get very jealous and aggravated from Natalie's & C. Walkens encounters (which seemed as if they were flirty, I mean they did work together in a romantic film...) and decided that he would take Natalie to the yacht and threatened her, as well as gripping and bruising her arms. She, panicked, then stumbled back and drowned in the ocean scratching on the boat trying to get back up. He seemed to have known her fear the most seeing as they were married, and used it against her.
To Shane: I promise you, no junkie is going to inject you with heroin and give up their shot. And no dealer will just surprisingly stick you, there are plenty of willing participants before you.Let go man, this fear is straight up unfounded.
I feel like it's not just getting tricked into doing heroin, but more being drugged in general that is the fear. It's not a rare occurrence that people get drugged. And if you enjoy the high and then get addicted, then that's double dangerous.
i actually bought her sister's investigative book. it's called little sister by lana wood and it's extremely interesting. i recommend the book to anyone that's interested.
it was interesting to me that shane heard "i am protective and she is comfortable with me" and thought "he seems like a good guy" and i thought "he seems like he might have been abusive and controlling" like the extreme jealousy and the anger and the protectiveness and the fact that they divorced but then got back together all reeaaaally point to abusive behaviors, and no shade at all but i find it interesting that men might not notice these things that have been drilled into women like "BEEP BEEP BEEP RED FLAG RED FLAG"
Christy S Your first quote is from the captain of the ship, not her jealous husband. But interesting none the less, I also thought "creepy controlling" when I heard that.
anyone who marries, divorces, re-marries, divorces, and re-marries with her first husband is pretty weird in the first place. but I'm sure that Wood and Wagner had a stable relationship, he was probably a bit overprotective ("WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO FUCK MY WIFE?!") but they probably loved each other
17:58 Wagner had Movie Stardom behind him when he took the steady paycheck of Hart to Hart. He was a verified movie star just like Natalie. Gypsy had been a Broadway smash before the movie version and was a big deal in its day.
@Lemon Grab 1. One bear vs many sharks is not a fair comparison. 2. Land shark is fictional I can live my whole life w/o ever having to deal with a shark. Simply by not living near the ocean. Bears on the other hand I have encountered in the wild in Romania. Fear of sharks is illogical.
exactly what i was thinking. a polar bear is by far the most dangerous bear and if it were suited for warmer climates would most certainly be the most dangerous mammal alive. they are terrifyingly adept.
What if Natalie and Wagner got into an argument, where he broke a wine glass and tousled with her, he got really violent wrestling her into the rubber dingy, and untying the ropes leaving her on the boat in the water. When this happens she screams for help, to which he replies "okay honey, we'll come get you". In a desperate attempt to save herself and get back onto the boat she jumps into the water, trying to climb back up. (This explains the scratches on the side of the yacht) Her coat got soaked and weighed her down into the cold dark water, drowning her.
I think they got in a fight and he threw her into the water and she tried to get back on(hence the scratches) then he untied the dingy to make it look like she tried to get away herself
Walken's statement reminds me of an episode of CSI where a college girl dies and the parents think it was a murder but Grissom and crew determine it was purely accidentally but the family did not accept their conclusion. Grissom makes a statement like the one Walken's makes at the end of this video.
How about the Savannah Mercer House murders? The one where the doctor suffocated his wife, went downstairs and ate breakfast then jumped out the window. Then the murder of Johnny by Jim Williams. And the boy who was lifted up and dropped of the roof and got impaled by the gate.
My guess would be: Wagner and Wood got in to an argument as stated, Wagner got a little too physical (grabbing Wood's wrist too hard if she tried to leave or something) which caused bruising, but nothing too aggressive. Even if he didn't mean to, his drinking would have made him unable to control himself as much as he wished. This led to Wood wanting to leave (or maybe she already did want to and that's what the argument was about) so she ends up attempting to leave on her own while drunk and upset. Wagner may have put her in the dingy because she wanted to leave, and she freaked out because of her phobia and slipped in to the water while attempting to climb the ladder back up. This leads to the testimony of the other boaters hearing the yelling for help, and the man's candid reply. Inebriated, Wagner would probably not consider that Wood was in any danger ("she can just get back in the dingy" or more perhaps "if she wants to leave so bad she can go"), possibly not knowing she could not swim. This would also explain why Wagner was sweaty and "looked like he was in a fight" if he was wrestling with his wife to put her in the dingy, and being too rough with her. This would also explain Wagner not wanting the captain to start the engine or anything since he knew Wood was in the water or the dingy. So that would make it an accidental drowning, but one where Wagner put her in the situation that led her to do so.
To confirm Shane's fear is at least a little legit, one time at work during a staff meeting, the lost prevention guy from the Walmart attached to our store came in and said there was a shoplifter in the area who is known to stab people with HIV infected needles when confronted. To be more specific, the needles were specifically used for heroine use.
Emily Hansen This had happened in my country as well. A man diagnosed with HIV pricked people with needle soaked in his blood at a movie theatre. Another man had tried to infect his doctor with HepB contaminated needle, though the attempt failed.
It is written in many accounts that they took boat excursions often .I don't understand why if Natalie feared the water .The fact that it took several hours for an emergency call to be made is a no-brainer.A crime was committed no doubt.
I think the husband had already plotted that he was going to kill her via drowning cuz 1) the fortune teller said it, so he could easily say she was right 2) she can’t swim and 3) they go on yachts frequently so it would be easy to believe it was an “accident” for her to fall off one day and drown. I think they got into another argument and she threatened to leave him or something, so he pushed her off. The fact that he didn’t want ppl looking for her def says something. And even if she was drunk, it’s hard to believe someone that knows they can’t swim would get anywhere near the edge especially one who already has a phobia and especially at night.
Kumari Billings well ryland is Shane Dawson's boyfriend. But I believe Ryan is the host on the right. And I also believe you know what they meant and there's no need to call them out really

Lol retarded comment. Anybody who has been on a boat with a dinghy knows that the dinghy will bounce against the hull ALL NIGHT if it isnt tied closely. In order to reduct the sound, you'd typically have to get on your knees and tie a knot onto the rail. A drunk person could absolutely slip off the boat in such a scenario.
I think she was in her nightgown with a coat on enjoying the night air when he got back. They got into a heated argument driven by jealousy. He's infuriated and throws her onto the smaller boat (knowing she hates the water) untied it from the bigger boat. That's when the guy hears someone screaming help me and he goes "yeah we'll get you!" Sarcastically. She's so drunk that she just completely freaks out and accidentally falls into the water and drowns.
kahlua omnipotens Maybe they were already sleeping. People seem to go in a pretty deep sleep after heavily drinking, which would make it likely that they didn't hear.
I blame the fortune teller. It was a self fulfilling prophecy. If she hadn't have made Natalie and her mother so scared of water / drowning Natalie likely would have learned to swim and survived.
@@kenmaskt yeah, they did say her mother made Natalie scared of dark water, and when visiting the fortune teller it made it worse so Blame the mother I guess, but then again, it didn't really matter in the end because Natalie went on a yacht trip for some reason despite her fear yet died anyways
@@misssteak1290 if you think about it there are millions if not 10s or 100s of millions of unsolved cases nearly 1 million people go missing in the us alone each year that disappear without a trace
one thing is this case isn’t unsolved. These guys in the video fail to mention any of the detectives and private investigators that found Wagner the culprit. There’s a book about this. This case was an open secret in Hollywood. Everyone knew about this. Wagner was a known alcoholic and was abusive and it was known not just rumored that Woods was sleeping with Walken. I know Natalies family the captain and Walken all know what really happened and have spoke about it. Natalies body had a lot of contusions and blunt force trauma that’s what made this case so ridiculous that it was an accident. My grandpa was one of the cops on this case and he said she looked like she had been attacked. A lot of people from the very beginning didn’t believe Roberts story. There was not just one but multiple witnesses that heard her fighting with Wagner. This case is the inspiration behinds Quentin Tarantino’s Cliff Booth character in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
Every time I go for a drug test I think of Shane’s fear because even though I’ve never done drugs, haven’t even smoked pot, my brain is like “what if someone gave you an edible and you didn’t notice? What if you snorted crack and forgot?” Like I know that’s not really a thing but that’s how my brain works
Idk if it was the same for Natalie, but I'm also terrified of water (and have been my whole life, same as her) and I'm okay with boats. Kayaks, canoes, anything like that are an absolute nightmare but things like yachts and speedboats are alright. I definitely can't be on a boat without a lifejacket though, and I'll never get in the water. I'm guessing it might have been similar for her
Still it looks like Wagner slapped her up and pushed her off the boat in a drunken rage. Walken and the ship captain want to protect Wagner because they’re friends. I don’t think anybody is fully telling the truth here.
when she fell in the water, as a child, she also broke her wrist. Her parents and the film people didn't take her to the hospital. Her wrist became deformed and she wore bracelettes to hide it. Can you imagine living with a broken wrist as a child? She was brought up in the film industry and was somewhat abused. To make her cry the crushed a butterfly in front of her. She supported her entire family at age 9.
That's what I was wondering too...If I was scared of water, a yacht would be the last place you'd find me...It's also ironic that, due to being afraid of water, you probably don't learn how to swim - and thus, you're indeed more likely to drown...
I'm afraid of water (more specifically swimming), which basically means that I can easily submerge my feet in water if there is no danger of me drowning there. The same applies to travelling by boat. Phobias are different, and things like that aren't black and white. You can be afraid of drowning and still be on board of a yacht.
Wow, really, you're not scared of boats, then? Because...well, if drowning is likely in any place, it's on a boat if something goes wrong there. Well, maybe that's a similar phenomenon like with me being scared of heights - but I have no trouble sitting in a plane. Fascinating, really. Right, phobias are not logical...

The fact that they’re all actors probably made this case even harder for police to solve. How do you know if the husband and walker were actually upset and concerned over her death or just acting.
The police were useless in the investigation. They didn't follow basic procedures, likely because they were dealing with celebrities. I can't remember exactly if their mistake was that they neglected to interview Wagner and Walken on the spot, or if they neglected to interview them separately. Either way, the police during this whole investigation were sketchy af.

Were ignoring her suicide attempt in the mid 60s I suppose. Also in his LACSD statement, Davern came back to Wagner at the rear deck when he discovered Wood missing after their shouting match and then the subsequent silence. You mention Wagner returned but it’s significantly more alarming to learn after Davern allegedly intervened once to no success, he was the one to check on them again. And then an hour later Wagner was, according to Davern, crying and repeating “She’s gone, she’s gone, she’s gone”
I think he threw her in the water to “torture” her in a fit of rage, then they couldn’t collect her due to the dark waters. “Help me...!!!!!!” “Okay,...we will get you!”
There's a lot of people who brought up why Natalie was on a yacht if she has a debilitating fear of water. I have a similar severe water phobia, but there are degrees to phobias. Some people (like me) can't even look at bodies of water without panicking, others can't even take showers or go in the rain, some can handle pools and baths but not open bodies, some can go on boats or cruises but won't go in water themselves ... by their very nature, phobias are irrational. They don't make sense. Yachts are pretty large boats, so the stability of that inclines me to believe that Natalie didn't mind them, she just wouldn't go in water herself. The dingy does raise questions for me though, as those are clearly more free-floating and the water is much closer to you, but maybe with someone else in the boat (like the captain) it was okay. But lots of people try to dismiss her fear as not that bad because she was okay with yachts, which isn't the case. You can go on a boat and still be terrorized by water. They're not mutually exclusive, but it's not something you can make sense of or explain. RIP Natalie Wood.
yeah, like i'm terrified of heights, being in a tall building is safer feeling that a mountain but both scare me equally if i'm near the edge / glass and can see below and as i grow more okay with heights rollercoaster s are fine but ferris wheels still terrify me,makes no sense

that's right. I suppose its ok to get on the boat but I don't think she wanted to get off it on purpose alone..even if she was drunk
Didn't you listen.....? she was basically drunk during their whole holiday.....maybe that's one of the reason she went, because she would have stayed drunk the whole time.
She was said to have a fear of washing her hair when she was a child. And understanding the logic behind other people's fears is pretty much impossible.
Since Robert Wagner is officially a person of interest I had to come back and rewatch this

shane’s walken impression makes this my fav episode
My theory is that Wagner was beginning to get very jealous and aggravated from Natalie's & C. Walkens encounters (which seemed as if they were flirty, I mean they did work together in a romantic film...) and decided that he would take Natalie to the yacht and threatened her, as well as gripping and bruising her arms. She, panicked, then stumbled back and drowned in the ocean scratching on the boat trying to get back up. He seemed to have known her fear the most seeing as they were married, and used it against her.
Also, the cut on her cheek could have been from a shard of glass that came from the wine bottle that Wagner admitted to breaking.
I think the fact that they're both extremely intoxicated also adds to the plausibility of this.
So is no one gonna talk about how good Shane's Christopher Walken impression is???

To Shane: I promise you, no junkie is going to inject you with heroin and give up their shot. And no dealer will just surprisingly stick you, there are plenty of willing participants before you.Let go man, this fear is straight up unfounded.
What about a drug dealer wanting more customers?
I feel like it's not just getting tricked into doing heroin, but more being drugged in general that is the fear. It's not a rare occurrence that people get drugged. And if you enjoy the high and then get addicted, then that's double dangerous.
then you should watch a show called "locked up abroad"

"Do you not know how love works?"
"Maybe I don’t."
"That makes a lot of sense, actually."
it was interesting to me that shane heard "i am protective and she is comfortable with me" and thought "he seems like a good guy" and i thought "he seems like he might have been abusive and controlling"
like the extreme jealousy and the anger and the protectiveness and the fact that they divorced but then got back together all reeaaaally point to abusive behaviors, and no shade at all but i find it interesting that men might not notice these things that have been drilled into women like "BEEP BEEP BEEP RED FLAG RED FLAG"
Christy S Your first quote is from the captain of the ship, not her jealous husband. But interesting none the less, I also thought "creepy controlling" when I heard that.
Exactly the terminology here is quite telling. He deciding on how she feels about him with no mention of their relationship between each other.
Christy is talking about Wagner but Shane was talking about Davern
Nah Shane was talking about Davern
anyone who marries, divorces, re-marries, divorces, and re-marries with her first husband is pretty weird in the first place. but I'm sure that Wood and Wagner had a stable relationship, he was probably a bit overprotective ("WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO FUCK MY WIFE?!") but they probably loved each other

1. One bear vs many sharks is not a fair comparison.
2. Land shark is fictional
I can live my whole life w/o ever having to deal with a shark. Simply by not living near the ocean. Bears on the other hand I have encountered in the wild in Romania. Fear of sharks is illogical.
@Lemon Grab You're taking it way too seriously. C'mon man, a little self respect.

Celebrating the old West Side Story actress, Natalie Wood The Gypsy Girl. She will be missed forever.
Ruthie Satchell this tbh is by far the most likely scenario
why would she jump into the water if she was afraid of it and can't swim?
I think they got in a fight and he threw her into the water and she tried to get back on(hence the scratches) then he untied the dingy to make it look like she tried to get away herself
confusedd Drunk is all I have to say about that
Jasmine Hooper That's what I think really happened...
Marcel Octavious dude the last one sounds brutal...do u have the name of the case?
I want to look into this, holy cow
Yeah, wow me 2
But those were solved bc we know who did it. This is BuzzFeed unsolved
Marcel Octavious is ok
My guess would be:
Wagner and Wood got in to an argument as stated, Wagner got a little too physical (grabbing Wood's wrist too hard if she tried to leave or something) which caused bruising, but nothing too aggressive.

Can’t remember the name off the top of my head, but I’m pretty sure that there is a theory stating that the simplest theory is the most likely.

I think she was in her nightgown with a coat on enjoying the night air when he got back. They got into a heated argument driven by jealousy. He's infuriated and throws her onto the smaller boat (knowing she hates the water) untied it from the bigger boat. I blame the fortune teller. It was a self fulfilling prophecy. If she hadn't have made Natalie and her mother so scared of water / drowning Natalie likely would have learned to swim and survived.
I blame the mother for believing her and never teaching Natalie to swim.
well from what i understood she was already scared of water, whatever the fortune teller told her just made it kind of worse
@@kenmaskt yeah, they did say her mother made Natalie scared of dark water, and when visiting the fortune teller it made it worse so
Blame the mother I guess, but then again, it didn't really matter in the end because Natalie went on a yacht trip for some reason despite her fear yet died anyways
oh damn you're right
She was heavily drunk so ther is no point she cud swim in that condition even if she knew how to swim
Buzzfeed should make a “solved” murders segment with the catch that it was unsolvable and bizarre at first yet was solved later.
That’s a really good idea!
Yess. I just find it frustrating when listening to unsolved crimes. I prefer true crime stories with a bit of "happy ending"

They killed her
when she fell in the water, as a child, she also broke her wrist. Her parents and the film people didn't take her to the hospital. Her wrist became deformed and she wore bracelettes to hide it. How does a person with a fear of water have the guts to go on a yacht
I'm wondering that too.
Maybe she was a little drunk, before even entering O.o?
Gosh this is heartbreaking. Poor girl, it's very sad imagining she was clawing desperately to get on the boat, I burst into tears.

Seems like Wood was more into Walken than the other way around.
Can you blame them tho
Sis was pretty
RIP Natalie Wood.
yeah, like i'm terrified of heights, being in a tall building is safer feeling that a mountain but both scare me equally if i'm near the edge / glass and can see below
and as i grow more okay with heights rollercoaster s are fine but ferris wheels still terrify me,makes no sense
"Pop that thing in the ocean"
Polar Bear: Am I a joke to you?
Most drown cause global warming
Oof, and let's be honest, try to pop a shark onto land and see how well that goes
polor bars are extremely good swimmers they can hold their breath and catch a fish or two, a shark would die of dehydration before starvation and suffocation

I’ll tell you what. Bears can’t win against other animals of similar size. A hippo could wreck a bear.
