Let me be the first " extremely messy wiring job " ! Neatly Inner twine/weave the components wiring ! I've done many 335 style guitars over the years with pictures of work done for the customer ! Please take the wire harness out , and inner twine/weave the components wiring ! Put components back in the template, and make all wires 3/8 of inch longer between components ! And, please clean that soldering iron tip !
That was a hard one to get video of. Started it through the f-hole. I pulled it to the hole for the jack with a piece of wire and guided it into the hole with the long plyers (hemostats). It's very fiddly; easy to scratch the finish if not careful. Good luck with your guitar build and thanks for watching and commenting!!
Hey I don't have much know how when it comes to electronics and have a question. When you created the extended bridge ground wire with the three green wires shrink-wrapped, did you solder them together? Or just twist them together and wrap it? It seems unnecessary to solder them but I just want to make sure. Thanks in advance
@workshopstudios43 by the way thanks for the video, this is the most helpful one I have found for the DIY guitar kit I picked up. Tons of helpful tips here.
Shane, great question. I did solder them. Mostly because my guitars see a lot of action between playing and hauling them around. I want the connections to be as durable as possible. Hope your guitar project goes well!! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍 🙂
Yep! I feel your pain. I suspect the pros have specialized tools but it still requires patience and perseverance. Thanks for watching and commenting And good luck with your guitar!
It was a very enjoyable project, an economical way to have a SG clone and rewarding to play an instrument that you made!! Good luck with the build and thanks for watching and sharing!

Thanks for the great ideas. Wonderful when experienced folks like yourself give guidance and best practices. 👌
I was about to say.. clean that tip!
Would like to see how you got the jack socket attached.

I have to wonder if it took as much energy to insert those animated images as it did for me to try to ignore them and try to see what was behind them.
😬
