let me know if you'd want to go to coachella or if you'd just rather hang back with me at the hotel and have a vacation there! haha
I've always been that way too. I hate huge crowds. I don't even go to sales at stores because of the numbers of people pushing and shoving.
catrific I agree with you. I get panic attacks at school in the hallways and sometimes they aren't even that crowded so I don't think I'd do well
catrific JOEY GRACEFFA IS MINE
catrific I'd much rather be at the hotel. I have claustrophobia and I just can't do things like that. Just gives me a panic attack! Which kinda sucks living so close to LA, because I have access to these things people would kill to go to but I hate them
Definitely not for me if it triggered a panic attack for you. I got stuck in the crowds at the Cubs rally/parade in November and had a horrible panic attack (I wasn't the only one). I never want to repeat that experience again. Give me friends in a hotel room any day!!
Drunk, smelly, pretentious - yeah, that's pretty much Coachella in a nutshell. Also Beyoncé isn't even going to be there now.
If you're going to Coachella for just one artist, don't go.
M Dunn i'm
glad she's not
Radiohead ...Beyonce is nowhere near Radiohead.
Tbh i'd go watch radiohead at their concert outside. Cochella is way to hyped and way too pricey!
This is why you stay home and watch the Coachella livestreams. That way you get all of the music but none of the crowds or smelly folks.
Ok but crowds and dust and drunk people you get at most festivals. Smelly people? Most people can't afford to stay in hotels so they camp there for a few days, hence maybe the smell. I am not a fan of Coachella but it's not for the reasons you mentioned, as they would be akin to most festivals that take place not in a city centre, but because it is more about fashion, instragam, etc than MUSIC. The lack of appeal to me about Coachella is really the fact (besides the ridiculous price obviously) that it seems that the main reason that people go there is no longer for the artists/bands...and if not, what's the point?
The last thing I want is to see my favourite band live in a middle of a crowd who couldn't give less of a shit.
A.M Lash People like Cat are the reason WHY I wouldn't go to Coachella. Too many spoiled and pretentious girls who stay in hotels and are grossed out by camping smells. I prefer my festivals like Burning Man or Shambhala: wilderness, pure vibes, and community.
A.M Lash but More Drunk Then Car Services.... Ehm What If I Drove My Car And Crashed..
Exactly my thoughts.
Cat looks stunning. I thought the white hair was great and stylish but the natural brown is actually very beautiful on you.
thanks!
FaithsStardust Dyed Brown is never a natural brown. ((:
catrific lmao u hideous
Lmao well it's the Coachella valley it's a desert what do you expect. No dirt? 😂 and it's a festival of course people are gonna be drunk and on drugs.
I live 5 mins away from the festival lmao it's fun you just gotta ignore the people
Selena Vargas exactly 😊
Selena Vargas been to Bonnaroo 04. 07. & 2010. & Coachella in 05 or 06. I went just to see Roni Size, Prodigy & NIN. Amazing line up 😊
Exactly. It turns into dirt fest just like Riot fest!
or Warped Tour
Same. I live like 20 minutes away from the festival and it's definitely the highlight of the year living in the valley 😂
I've been going to Coachella for 5 years now and honestly people experiences are what they make of it. Yes there is the hipster basic crowd that go just to be seen but you also have people like me that study up on all the bands that are going and get hyped listening to great music. Coachella is what you want it to be.
that last thought- it was so deep that I almost drowned
Big E coachella is for pussies
YES OMG
Well... I don't really know what you were expecting. If concerts/music festivals are admittedly not your favorite environment, I have no idea why you'd expect to have anything less than a disappointing experience at one of the largest music festivals in the world. Coachella is pretty much notorious for its large crowds and drug/alcohol use. I have no idea why anyone who has issues regarding crowded environments would even consider attending it. That being said, at least you got paid for it, and can take it as a learning experience if nothing else. But I'm 99% certain the kinds of people who attend Coachella and thoroughly enjoy the experience are NOT heavily introverted/socially-anxious, and that's okay. Different strokes for different folks.
lyricsandlace shut up
lyricsandlace lol you're 100% right
Emily
...different neuroses for different psychoses...
Bread Sandwich um there's literally nothing wrong with being extroverted just like there's nothing wrong with being introverted....just two different types of people that's all. Have a little respect and intelligence plays zero factor here so yeah idk why your IQ is relevant
Bread Sandwich That's cool dude, do your thing. I'll just be over at Lollapalooza snorting weed and injecting molly with my fellow single-digit IQ brethren
Literally every music festival you go to will have drunk people, high people, will smell like ass, will probably be dirty everywhere, and will have a TON of people. What you described didn't really sound like Coachella was a bad time, it sounds like you're just not the kind of person that enjoys music festivals lol. Coachella was 'particularly annoying' because it's one of the biggest, most well-known music festivals in the WORLD lol
That's exactly what I thought. I didn't like Coachella this year but she's a #hurtbag
not in JP
James parker honestly you're right lol
I agree. She says how everyone is so pretentious but she's the one staying in an hotel and complaining about how everyone was smelly and stuff. Also saying how everyone is pretending to have fun and that they would have more fun in a concert. a coachella ticket costs less than all the tickets from all the people performing, and you'd also have to travel to every location. coachella has them all together in one place, that's why people like festivals in general
Coachella is like Urban Outfitters, the musical.
Draco Malfoy
lol
Draco Malfoy this! lol
Hahahaha! Your comment is perfect, dude. xD
Draco Malfoy hahahahahaha thank you. thank you for this. you're great
"I just hate crowds and being smushed"
literally me in school
Coachella is no longer about music. It's about what you wear and how wasted you get. But I think it would be fun to go if you just ignore the pretentious people and just hang out with friends and have fun at your own pace. I'd still love to go someday but i haven't really been feeling the line up. Also, I hate that you have to buy the whole weekend rather than just one day. Lame. Lol
That's exactly how you should approach it. I've gone the last 3 years, and I went with a group of friends who only cared about our group and the music. We didn't care about celebrities or any of that extra BS. The awesome thing about Coachella is that you can control almost everything about the individual experience you have.
I don't blame you
if you hate crowds, why in the world would you go to coachella?
She a winy #HurtBag #SorryNotSorry
I don't care about Coachella. I only care about Lady Gaga performing but then I'm going to see her on her Joanne tour so it really doesn't matter. And I don't really fit in well with the Coachella type crowd being someone who doesn't drink or go out to bars for a party.
Chunkamunk Fischer I
i would rather hang out with u
u da best
Hi, I think you are amazing, you don't have any videos but I'll subscribe to your channel anyway
yea you are a little ridiculous. people do have a genuine time there and i think the people you probably were surrounded with were just superficial. i have a blast every time i go there
I have never been to a music festival or anything, but I'm sure I would feel exactly the same as you. I get extremely overwhelmed by crowds and disgusting odors and loud noise. It just does not seem like my scene. Plus you add-on about difficulty with finding rides... that would stress me out to no end...
There's always room at music festivals, unless you want to be up in the crowd..But you would be okay
i love these chatty videos and i hate to be that guy but your ! hair ! looks ! so ! good !!!
Not sure what to say but some of these reasons are weak, hard to catch an uber? What do you expect with over 100k people in attendance lol
If that's not your type of environment like you stated than you shouldn't have gone and you definitely can't be telling thousands of people that it wasn't a good time because yes that's your experience only because you don't really like music festivals in the first place
e21 xo I feel like you didn't watch the video. If you did, you would see how how redundant your response is.
e21 xo I appreciated her comment and some of us do care if we never been there!!!
I think you have to be a self-absorbed, label dropping, rich, drunken snob to truly enjoy Coachella. Or have the ability to ignore just about everything but the music. Everyone else is just trying to live up to the hype by pretending they love Coachella so no one knows they wasted hundreds, if not thousands, to attend. Good job not being a mindless puppet!
anybody who still has a soul is above coachella. Bottom of the barrel self centered narcisstic low conciousness individuals listen to crap music.
Are you a professional complainer? You must not enjoy life much if you can't stand being around other people and some dirt. Grow up and be more mature. If you don't like it, fine, keep it to yourself. No one wants to hear you complain except other unhappy people that have nothing better to do than complain. If you are so great and wise then make your own event. Build something yourself and see what it takes to create. All you are doing is being negative with no constructive criticism.
the Facebook ping at the start threw me off 😂
me too!! hahaa

Sigh. Haterade. My experience is totally different. I love going to watch as many of the 150 or so artists play as possible. I've discovered so much new music to my experience. Plus I have always gone with such nice friends and we have a great time. Too bad you didn't have a good time. But if music, crowds, heat , drinking and drugs bother you - any music festival is probably not the place for you.
going to coachella is particularly being "in for something that is a trend" but not really into what this event wants to bring to y'all, which is BASICALLY THE ESSENCE OF MUSIC ITSELF... ugh people nowadays
Hotel definitely! I'm not a fan of huge crowds either and the lack of hygiene would be a huge nope. Keep making these awesome vids.
you just described every music festival. some people like it, some people don't.
I would Go to Coachella only for gaga but don't live in us
BEYONCE WILL BE THE LAST PERSON TO SEE IN A CONCERT ! SHE DOES NOT IMPRESS ME
We should create our own festival Cat!! 😂😝
It frustrates me how many people go to Coachella just for the sake of doing so or turn it into a fashion event (which I understand there will always be fashion trends for certain events but it seems a bit overwhelming in terms of Coachella). I am usually a huge fan of a majority of the bands and artists who go there so Ive always been interested in it but the prices for tickets and just staying out is very expensive and just the size of the festival looks like it can be overwhelming. Ive been watching the Coachella live streams for years now and I love it but I don't see me getting a chance to go in the near future. But if Im ever given the chance I'd gladly take it
It seems like a lot of the bigger music festivals now are trying to re-create Woodstock and some of the earlier amazing festivals… and it's probably not gonna happen. So much of it now seems to be about appearances - what clothes you're wearing, it's what you're wearing gonna be appropriately cool enough for Coachella - and it just seems like a lot of people trying to look and act cool. I personally like some of the smaller festivals or just going to concerts where it's really about the music. That's not to say that the music at Coachella isn't good, but like you, I think I'd pass with Coachella - every time. In fact, unless the ambience really changes, I don't think anyone could pay me to go to Coachella.
Try ACL instead. There's grass, not dust, and people in ATX are way, WAY nice. You will have to walk or get an uber but it's not so bad and the food in Austin is amazing. :)
Hi Cat! 😻😊
OKAY, Kidz... here's my MindFuck Of The Day:
Can you imagine what Coachella would be like IF United Airline's security cops operated the music festival?
full of #basicbitches and #bros but I'd still rather be there... watching Kendrick Lamar...
I'm confused, why does this video have so many dislikes? The title of the video is "Why I'll Never Go To Coachella Again", so she explains why in the video... I'm not sure what else people were expecting! I'd definitely be the same if I went, so I go out of my way to avoid super-popular music festivals like that. Instead I stick to daytime ones that are more genre or city focused. So like jazz festivals, or "dot-to-dot" style city festivals where lots of small independent venues have acts on throughout the day, and you hop around on buses or trams to see everything.
One of my favourite festivals is the "Riverbank Festival" in my city, where all the local acts come and play right along the canal that runs through, and you can sit on the piers and bridges and watch them perform. Long story short, there's something for everyone when it comes to music, so if you're put off by a particular type of festival it might be worth trying another! ^_^
I 1st went in 2003 & it was amazing!!! I got to meet some of my fav bands. I last went in 2005 cuz of all the same reasons in this video. Also the price had gone up way high & I was done. I'm from Chitown! I wasn't going to pay close to or more for the festival than my plane ticket. Oh & hotel & rental car!!! Bitch bye!!!
Create an Assberger-friendly music festival!
And have your festival located in the San Fernando Valley or some other place much more accessible and less stinky.
allow me to be honest
yep, you are ridiculous
but in all seriousness, even though i think coachella is kind of fashion-bullshit, it's still the summer event to go in the US.
i can't imagine you being at Glastonbury, which is is x30 the size, x100 the smelliness and mud, and I'm gonna be there cos i love festivals and concerts overall, you can talk to people and get to know similar tastes which is amazing
and i would have been there just for Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar
I totally agree with this on all music festivals, I joke and say people do drugs at festivals cause they'd be miserable otherwise, lol wouldn't go now anyways, pretty messed up they pay people to go in order to get people like me to want to go and pay for a ticket.
I totally get it but Lady Gaga 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I want to see her at Coachella just her though
haha i've always wanted to go to coachella because of the music and the aesthetic. i cant afford it, so..... i'm glad you made this video!! love you Cat!
4 secs. in.... can't deal with annoying rambles....
stay home....hahaaa
omg it reminds me of going to Mall of America for the first time. I was so hyped but then I went inside and I was completely overwhelmed by everything and everyone. While walking around my sister and I literally couldn't find what to buy or what stores we wanted to actually check out. It got worse when we got hungry and walked in circles to find the actual food court area. the walking makes it seem like you don't wanna shop anymore. so ya i bet i would hate it being at coachella. I would rather chill at a hotel for sure it would probs be better when no one is typically around lol.
You need a granny big band convention me thinks . Light swing music 🎶 floral wallpaper and peach 🍑 punch .
I literally 100% hate crowds of people so, yea for sure....we would be kicked back in the hotel hot tub girl!!! LOL
"you're probably just better off being at home" chill it's just your opinion nothing bad even happened to you you just happened to not like the atmosphere
Wow. You're really highlighting the negatives here. Coachella isn't perfect. But it is a great experience.
Ridiculously lame. You're bashing a festival you didn't even pay to go to.
when my names jules and you said my name even if it wasnt directed towards me, still FREAKING out. ok
Just because you get anxiety doesn't mean Coachella is a bad place or not a good festival, there's so much positivity there that you neglected to mention
Hi Cat
it's a music festival of course there's going to be tonnes of people... what did you expect
lady GA GA would not be someone I would care to see or Beyonce. My goodness this generation is going to hell in a hand basket.
hi
Don't go to Burning Man then. Honestly, Coachella has been the best experience in my life
I'm with you - well done for expressing an unpopular opinion!
I feel the same exact way about Coachella, it's filled with people that go just to take pictures & SHOW that they went.
Like do you not know what Coachella is? I'm surprised you even signed up considering it's widely know to be everything you hate
She might have been paid to go, but why make an entire video telling people Coachella was bad when it was just you? You can recognize an environment isn't your jam, but why make a video years later to just tell everyone you're a snob? Oh right, Coachella was trendy at the time and this would bring the views if she seemed like there was a legit criticism.
The meaning isn't "unkind" when it applies. Just because it was once used to apply to the poorest sections in a theater doesn't mean I don't know and can't relate as someone also heavily poor and discriminated against. Erroneously believed it's not a racist name, but a classist one. But due to everyone's failure to consider intersectionality, they just assume "but, like, black people were, really poor, so it's a def racist term". No, it was a classist term. A class I belong to. Keep your condescension to yourself.
Also, if you'd get your head out of Kat's ass, you'd see how unnecessary this video was with it's "fuck Coachella" thumbnail. Coachella did nothing to her. A music festival did. She's the one who took Coachella sooooo personally. As if she's a personal Coachella VICTIM! THE HORROR!
Even as a fan you should be able to see how dumb and unnecessary this video was. Critical thinking is your friend.
Crazy how this was on the recommended videos for a coachella stream
All these people hating on Coachella when they've never been there LOL
why did you go to coachella if you clearly had no idea what goes on there and what it's like
Its a dying fad Happens to everything eventually.
you think coachella is bad try going to T in the Park .. haha
And that's how most of the festivals are darling.
RUclipsrs go there for views. Thats literally the only reason youtubers go to coachella.
deffs hang with you at the hotel, I hate festivals like that
Yeah... don't go to Coachella anymore
I'm not going either =P that is cool you were paid to go before though!!
This is dumb. Why go to a music festival to complain about you being anti-social, that's not Coachella's fault. And its a desert, you expected there to be no dust?? How?
Nijah Seay and actually right now the weather is nice out here
haha..... I'm an introvert.
you should go to T in the Park, then you'll stop complaining
katie people smell less disgusting if you smell just as bad ahaha #ukfestivals
you need to pop
In this video, a woman takes advantage of a trendy topic at the time hoping people will think something bad _actually_ happened there - but fear not, it was just a girl who hates literally anything somewhat associated with a music festival trying to suggest Coachella was the problem. Nah, it was really just her. Must be cushy to get paid to go to something, complain about it, and get paid again by bringing up a non-story years later suggesting it's 'like a storytime'. Would've been more appropriate to title this "Why I'm Not a Concert Person and Have Unreasonably High Expectations for Things".
maybe coachella is a status thing?
MrRorosuri at this point that's all it is.
I'll probably never get the chance to go to Coachella because I'm broke, and I live on the east coast, but I'm that person where I will attend arena/stadium/amphitheater festivals because it's all in one place AND you have assigned seating compared to festivals like Coachella or Firefly where you have to either walk or even run to different stages if performers are not on the same stage, and you will never be in the same spot. I'll be watching Coachella via livestream in the comfort of my own home on RUclips! I'm excited for this year's festival because of Lady Gaga! The Joanne album was made for Coachella, so I'm excited!!!!!!!
Greetings. I am a fellow human from the great country of Australia. Here in Australia we face many dangers each day and are very disconnected from the rest of the world. For example, the other day I learned of the passing of President Kennedy which I am led to believe actually happened a number of years ago. It is very difficult. We have a small amount of internet time each week and I am leaving this in good faith that you- fellow RUclips users, will be able to inform me of the goings on of the world. I am particularly interested in swimming, insects, and quiz shows. Please reply so that I might become one of the most intelligent and well-informed people in Australia. Thanking you kindly. Your friend, Sudsies.
This year will be my fourth year, and I'll be car camping for the fourth time as well, and I can guarantee you it's not completely filled with the people you are describing. They are there, yes, but not everywhere. I've met some of the nicest, down-to-earth people at Coachella.
Like you said though, it's definitely not for some people, and there's nothing wrong with it. I just don't think you should have judged it so soon.. you were there already.. if I were you I would have gotten some allergy meds and a bandana to cover your face and explored the other hundreds of things to experience there.
I would never go to Coachella cause I am more interested in actually going to see the bands than I am in walking around with a bunch of Instagram models. Bonaroo is where it is at for the most fun, crazy concert experience, but if our hate dust and dirty people/ people on drugs, steer clear. That honestly makes it more fun for me, but i get why people don't like it.
I've always wanted to go to Coachella but I kinda feel the same way from what I've seen. I love concerts so much but like those HUGE crowds of people idk if I could do it. And I feel like Coachella is more about outfits than the actual music now
I think it's about planning it out honestly Coachella is fun if you know what to do. You don't uber it you get a bus pass so you don't walk miles and also weekend 2 is way way more chill. The people are more there for the music than weekends 1 in my experience. I can't wait to see lady Gaga this year. I've met cool people and enjoyed the music. I just had a great time. Thankfully for me the dust was not as bad when I went. Hopefully you can give Coachella another try Cat.
I didn't even know what coachella is.Just imagine.Idk.Here in Greece we don't do that kind of stuff. But if you go this year.Have fun!❤
so basically you didn't like the modern day woodstock because there's a lot of people, and a strong presence of drugs and alcohol? lmfao you clearly aren't made for a modern day musical festival then, it's okay it isn't made for everybody but Coachella is an amazing experience you will remember for the rest of your life. The atmosphere, music, and people there make it so amazing, you need to relax more and learn to enjoy life a little better without being so judgmental and worried about little things!
Hey, I can understand if that's how you feel because I've never been to Coachella before and I would still love to go which I am and will be doing 70 in the beginning of his first day next year but my sweet advice for you on life is just to enjoy it and even if things don't seem to be as people say they are, just live the moment and tell it to the others you're at The stage so they can understand and say that you really do have the best of both worlds. That way, you can feel what it's like and that's pretty much what you did there but don't let your's wine experience at the festival put you down or anything. Just go tweet again and you'll see how amazing it is. Go see it again is what I meant to say but tweeted to and trust me, it gets better because it's happened to me before at these other places and take it from good old fan buddy and friend Guru Pathic! 🙂🙏🏼
I would die to go to Coachella!! I think I'd dislike some of the things you said, but I'd be able to still enjoy it a lot and I think it'd be worth it. I guess I don't really know much though because I've never been to a music festival. Maybe smaller music festivals would be a lot easier to enjoy.
went to Coachella for the first time this year & IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING ! & btw i went w/ just my sister & we car camped . you described every event ever not just Coachella . maybe its you or just the people you went with . things (in this case Coachella) turn out how you want them to go, just sayin' .
P.S: IF YOU'RE READING THIS, GO TO COACHELLA & CAMP IF YOU CAN !
sounds like you cant festival properly. solution: stay home next time. youtuber solution: make video, get views. Kind of person you are? basic.
Coachella could be an amazing experience or the worst 3 days of your life depending on how well prepared you are. My first time there I went with a group that had been before so we had everything we needed and I had a great time. I know many others who had a terrible time just because they weren't ready for the heat and dust storms. I go for the music and I don't drink at all because it gets very hot. Bring a lot of water, a bandana and glasses for the dust, and light clothing. Camping is the best because you don't have to wait in long lines in a car and you can take breaks at your site if you get too exhausted. You just have to make sure you have everything you need before you get there. I'm excited this year because there's a lot of great performers I want to see.
And going to see ONE artist???? Really??????? There was PLENTY of awesome artists this year at all of the stages. EXPAND your music selection. jeeezzz mainstream much
I attended Coachella last week it was fun but it does have its pros and cons.
I agree the walk in is a b**** but they do have bikes to make it easier if you have the money also to get out is also a b**** you have to wait forever for a uber unless you walk out the lot for 2 miles down ..ha... Ithe food is very expensive but if you have the money you're okay to waste away .. I guess it's only fun when you're with a really big group.. idk coachella isn't 4 everyone I agree
If you hate crowds why are you going to a festival??
Did you miss the part where she said she got paid to go?
Thank God! After watching several vlogs (with mostly clothing shots and bla bla bla) I must say: the original spirit is gone. It is like 'the place to be' but no one knows why...
Everything you said reminds me of the Loveparade in Berlin. Over the years it became huge (it started with just 150 people in 1989 and had over 1million people in 1999) and finally the city of Berlin stopped it because it had totally changed. The city had enough of all the waste and the crowds. After the tragedy in 2010 in Duisburg, where people lost their lives, the Loveparade was history.
I can't see that Coachella will change for the better. That's sad.
First off Coachella Fest is 25 minutes east of Palm Springs no where near there. The festival is in INDIO. Second, I'm really sorry you had a bad experience, like you said it isn't for everyone. Third, you're also right about how pretentious the typical Coachella goer is, honey, the majority of people that attend are trust fund babies or had mommy and daddy pay for their $400 wristband. As for the rest like me, we're either locals, humble first timers, foreigners, or friends that work the festival give you the hook up. I myself have been attending since 2005, I have a friend that works for the founder Paul Toulette, and she gives me free wristbands. Every year gets harder to go because I start to feel exactly how you're expressing on this video.
But i always tell everyone, if you've never been, go and experience it...and once will be ENOUGH. :)
Never been to Coachella but did Bonnaroo from 2009-11. Camping, dirt, hundred+ degree heat, people rubbing on one another - none of those things were cool with me. I also cannot imagine drinking alcohol or doing drugs as I feel like I only barely survived chugging water and staking out the Porto potties after cleaning. Despite what I'm saying, each year was AMAZING. Out of my comfort zone, but I'll never forget a single thing that happened there. It's not for everyone, but you've got to know what you're getting into, and you've got to make peace with it. If not, better to watch from home IMO.
lmao ive never been to coachella, never plan on going, never wanna go, but I could tell just from the vibes it gave off and spread word/promotion it was just full of drunk sweaty socially obsessed people and not full of people who are actually super passionate and ready to listen to music and experience it loll And my little cousin wants to go pft Honey wait your turn
This is exactly how we felt!...We went for the first time this year and will be posting our video soon...Never going back! It was a one time experience lol
We are twins! I can't deal with crowds and all of those people. Honestly, i always question like are really having as much fun as they are posting on Instagram bc i will have a panic attack with all if those people ok those dirty portable toilettes.
Okay, I live in the Coachella Valley and the reason it smells bad is probably the people, but also where it's at. It's near the Empire Polo Club (I think?) where it smells like horse poop/manure. I've attended to the 5k Color Run at that area with definitely a smaller amount of people, but everywhere just stank. LOL CAN'T HELP IT AT ALL!
if youre not feeling it for the other music festivals, coachella is definitely not for you, coachella is exactly like any other music festivals, what do you expect in a music festival? less ppl? every1 being hygienic???? obv it will be filled with alot of sweaty people, and its normal in ANY MUSIC FESTIVAL LOL. some things u said doesnt make sense @ all.
