These videos have really helped my journey and having seen this, I won't move in until I've got the bigger keepnet - remember starting St Croix and not being able to keep uniques that I spent ages fighting 😂
the real answer is how long you are willing to wait i guess, fishing for pike takes hour to fill your net since it is limited to the day (you cant skip freely especially if you dont have premium) while sturgeon you can catch 2/3 then skip 1-2 hour for the next batch it takes me approx 20-25 min to fill my 150kg net with sturgeon i havent purchased any dlc btw for clarification ( i am using 2 15kg bottom sniper from shop) i did some counting for like 2-3 hours in real life to get 90k for fishing pike and 1-1.30 hour to get 90k with sturgeon (i have premium)
I never really fished for pike since i bought dlc, but with the catfish pack with the 50 and 70 lb rods (and premium) i make $30k a night and 6-7k xp per night fishing for sturgeon. 3 fish at 9pm, 3 at 11pm, 3 at 1am, and 3 at 3am. I could probably speed it up by only going for 2 fish at non peak times, like at 9pm on the first night that you had in this vid, it's always slow on that night at 9, but i iust read a book or watch a video while waiting lol. Nice vid. Even though i'm no longer f2p, the information is still helpful
If you're going for sturgeon like that it pays to set your drag a lot lower. Then you won't flip over and you are able to approach it way faster. Also... It is not about money in this game but xp. The faster you get xp the faster you can start making more money too.
The reason why he wants money is this series is a f2p to see how much money he can end up getting without spending anything and for grinding money its best to fish in E.E.S.S which stands for Emerald lake, Everglades, St Croix, and the final S, San Joaquin Delta
Love this video, currently level 42 and I’m still grinding sturgeon. I love grinding sturgeon since is gives you lots of money very quickly. Sure pike give more money but it takes more time. There’s also no bad day to fish for sturgeon, unlike pike.
I wonder what's more effective - single rod fishing for Pike from a boat or 2+ rod fishing from bank. The sturgeon map made me finally realize how incredibly fast it can be to catch a fighter from a free floating boat without a dropped anchor. Big sturgeon took me up to 3 minutes from an anchored point and less than 10-20 seconds from boat with a troll motor.
Me in this situation back then : Buy the 5 rod bag and then : St croix : Using 2 match rod (ardix n brutus) + best basscaster because why dont handle up to triple strike San joaquin : Only have 1 mid/best variant of bottom sniper + lowest/mid variant of brutus rod, and doing double strike farm Forgot at what lv when i upgraded my keepnet, at least im buying the 300+lb keepnet before first time going to san joaquin
Note : when i got bored and find interactive game, go fish the pikes When im playing while doing multitasking or even dinner/lunch/breakfast, i prefer kayak fishing sturgeon more than the double strike from the bank
Thanks for posting this. I’m definitely not good with this game but I tried doing pike today for the first time. I liked the bite rate of pike compared to sturgeon. To me, sturgeon change spawn or flavor of the day too fast. However, I tend to catch carp while looking for sturgeon. Carp also offered good money too.
Good information and nice fishing, especially with those light setups🫡 Cali vs. Michigan has always been a great debate 😊 with players siding either way with their own "farming methods." For me, its the sturgeons' side for many different reasons. Sturgeon Breakdown: The temps and conditions don't matter. It's the 46 minutes of fishing whilst in games odd hr. You'll have no cool-down fee when it's time to ff into the next active spawn (7am) and landing another 5-10 sturgeon. Times/Bite rate: 5 am for 46min, and each individual spawn will have 4 Sturgeon within the (igt) 46mins. The individual spawns will activate their 4 fish every odd hr igt. So to "farm" Sturgeon in/at the same exact spot it's required to ff into the next odd hr (7am) So it's 5-546am, 7-746am, 9-946am, 11-1146am etc etc etc... Hooks: 1/0-4/0: 18-48lbs (average 30-48lbs, sometimes 55lbrs) 5/0-8/0: 38-55lbs (average 40-52lbs, consistent 48-54lbrs with multiple Sturgeon over 52-55lb) Bait: Since the introduction of California Sturgeon spawn sacks have been #1, now it's a mix of spawn sacks/huge cut/duck/buffalo/dead lamb/liver/canned meat. Setups: only major "influence" for sturgeon is the lines type to leaders type. Depending on the line type spooled, the leaders' type will be affecting the fishes attraction to the bait. There are so many things that can/will affect the players' catch rate, but the most important factors are those spawning reset times and fishing the odd hrs. Fishing the way I've mentioned above is going to double if not triple players bite rates up to 18-24 fish in 1hr (igt) and easily filling +1k lb net in 15mins real time. I've obviously invested a lot of my time, especially when it comes to sturgeon. That's the reasoning behind my "extended comment,"and I didn't want you to take it the wrong way 😊 As Always Tight Lines and Great job/work on the video (i know first hand what it requires to create an informative video.)😊
I noticed when you went home between St Croix and St Joaquin that you have been keeping older equipment, like keepnets. If you upgrade them, no reason to keep the old ones, right? Selling those seems like another way of financially optimizing to me. I think the Sturgeon vs Pike debate is about even personally, and just about personal preference. Not a candy person. A bit chilly and cloudy summers day here in the Netherlands today.
I swear once you hit around 90 pounds in the morning at the main spot in St. Croix it just dries up. I now always move to the left and fish there. Not as a good of a spot but switching between the 2 spots works great for me.
Jolly ranchers all day fam, @BZHub after just using your series and moving form St crouix and now in san jauoqin with your exact rod, my persoanl opinion is sturgeon is way more profitable even with the day skiping and renting of boat, and even if they are some how even in farm or even less, sturgeon farming is way more exciting and fun that the pike farm. thanks for all your content!
What about Pike fishing at St Croix during the day and then Lake Sturgeon fishing at St Croix at night? Bit of variety. The Lake Sturgeon are slower to get in, but if you’re using a boat, it should be the same.
as a new f2p player, i find pikes to be the best option to start as soon as you get the right equipment, then after levelling up and buying even heavier equipment i'd go for sturgeons. the people saying "buy dlc" just have a shortcut, which simplifies lots of things.

Sturgeon no doubt you need the 150kg keepnet, bottom sniper 300, large cut bait #4/0 barbless and kayak for max xp if your on your 50 grind. Roam around between the 3 main hotspots 2 fish each rinse and repeat.
I keep seeing people say this, but have yet to see someone actually test if it’s faster to roam all 3 spots or continuously change time from the same location… because one certainly seems faster to me in my head…

@@Accooa couple of things that could be causing issues for you. 1 is that your line just isn't strong enough and you should be using a minimum of 13lb line if possible (you can go higher ignore the game's warnings). 2 could be that you are using a leader that isn't strong enough and should be as strong as the line. 3 could be that you are using lures that are too heavy for the rod which could cause the line to snap. Otherwise, it could just be that you are mixing up drag and retrieve speed but i don't think that is the case. Best of luck anyway and i hope this helps!

@@thickcaterpillargang9271 yeah, you may have already tried them- but if you play call of the Wild: the angler, then Russian Fishing 4; you’ll come to love the balance Fishing Planet has. There’s juuuust enough customization in the game to give you some freedom to customize how you like things to be, but also not super simple to the point it feels arcade-y
At this level, it shouldn’t be possible. The whole point of this series is to be free to play- and go by level, so if your comment doesn’t apply, then dont confuse people.
no no thats not the optimal way you should catch the golem musky first and take a bote to the same spot ond cast near the right side and it cathes much more uny and you dont use bait every cast is a pike
SECOND COMMENT: You have to admit though, those northern pike spawn rates has been nerfed a little. I left the game for 8 months and returned to hardly catching any of them despite having the best equipment for it. Before leaving, those pikes were constant all day every day. Now, it's like the devs caught up and slowed it down a bit.
Frequently asked question: the next episode in the series would be a unique redtail, gilded and piraiba. Since they made it harder to catch all 3, I’ve spent +4 hours trying to make that episode… and my OCD won’t mentally allow me to skip and move onto the next episode… so we’re at a pause for now.
But it's not a fair comparison, same fishing method would be the best comparison. 😁 2 rods. In this case you could fish for pike with one spinning or casting rod too from kayak.
This was a comparison at that specific level... which is early on when you just unlock San Joaquin. If anything - this experiment was stacked in the pike's favor with 2 rods - and it still lost.
@BoAngles I was looking for another video in the free to play series but I now realize there isn't one... been watching the live streams that are posted after this video.
The pike wins imo you have to do way more just to get the sturgeon to bite I personally don’t like the fact you only can catch a few fish before skipping the time I honestly like falcon lake because of the bite rate imo! Also I love fighting trout

Iam getting 70000 pr h. On sturgeon and only 45000-55000 on pike.. and on sturgeon u can skip when u whant its a huge +
The only thing that I feel like makes the sturgeon better is the XP they give you a decently larger chunk of xp and the money is generally similar
I haven’t watched this video in a while, but I thought the money was much better than the exp
Its close if you are fishing like this, with three bottom rods in the water pike win every time. It is nice to switch it up though.
At this level, it shouldn’t be possible. The whole point of this series is to be free to play- and go by level, so if your comment doesn’t apply, then dont confuse people.
We’ve also tested multiple rods on the other FP account, and it’s not even close- sturgeon blow pike out of the water.
What boat pack is the best ,love the videos by the way

its warm weather today 40 degrees celsius my fav candy is prob some chocolate
no no thats not the optimal way you should catch the golem musky first and take a bote to the same spot ond cast near the right side and it cathes much more uny and you dont use bait every cast is a pike
and i should know i hold the record fish there 26.987
@@julo0006 sweet, once we catch all the monster fish for Halloween well have to come back and try it
@@BoAngles didnt expect you would see this hsha i can give you the cords if u need them
@@julo0006 I see most comments, thanks, I don’t need them
SECOND COMMENT: You have to admit though, those northern pike spawn rates has been nerfed a little. I left the game for 8 months and returned to hardly catching any of them despite having the best equipment for it. Before leaving, those pikes were constant all day every day. Now, it's like the devs caught up and slowed it down a bit.
PS what's with river monsters series?
Frequently asked question: the next episode in the series would be a unique redtail, gilded and piraiba. Since they made it harder to catch all 3, I’ve spent +4 hours trying to make that episode… and my OCD won’t mentally allow me to skip and move onto the next episode… so we’re at a pause for now.
@@BoAngles looking forward to that
@@Karai_Hime I am looking forward to it being completed so I can move on
@@BoAngles good luck fishing may the gods of fish be on your side or something
Mom can we get donut operators voice
No, we have donut operators voice at home
Voice at home^^
Making me look up who you’re even talking about, lol 😂
I think sturgeon is better if you have the equment if not pike is better
Whats the place
Next bait vr video pleas
i like fishing for muskie at saint croix its fun with a jerk bait in the little corner where you catch pike
The surgeon would normally when unless it was a muskellunge
My fav candy is coffe crisp
Gm bo, hope ur having a damn good day.
I know this is proven, can’t say enough not using bait coins with sturgeon is priceless.
Wheres the next video
@@Cam_FisherMan in a video that settles a disagreement, why would there be a follow up video?
@BoAngles I was looking for another video in the free to play series but I now realize there isn't one... been watching the live streams that are posted after this video.
I love Fishing after pike my personale biggest pike was about 10 pounds
but here the thing you need the pike money to get to the sturgeon cause who going to fish 2k worth of bass to skip out on pike money
That’s not at all what this is about
Sturgeon is too boring for me idk, even steelhead and stripped bass are more fun to fish for
It is raining in Kharkiv xD
Everyone’s asking a lot of questing but, How are you doing bo, How’s life?
Ha! Not bad, trying to plan for some fishing around an upcoming conference. Should be fun! How about yourself?
@@BoAnglesNice, I’ve been good
Should’ve landed on the other side of the shore and then put out his rod stand and then not bother with kayak
Not a fan of the sturgeon farming, I'm very hit and miss with it. I enjoy farming the carp instead.
Oh and I liked the video
Sturgeon get way bigger then 45 lbs in fact you can't keep one that small
You should let me show you the proper way to do the Sturgeon, you could help alot of people
I tried to PM you but I couldn't find how
I know what you’re talking about, and that’s ok, I don’t want to play the game that way
More f2p please
your a king
Hey I added you on fishing planet
how bout you go saint croix during the day pike and go to the float at night fish some sturgeon... $$$
@@nerdrage4852 sounds like a lot of time! I’m looking at how much money and exp I can make every 10 minutes of playtime.
98 percent sure 👌
15 minutes real life is 1hr in-game just saying .
Thanks coach
Im a teenager but my life depressing
Well that sucks
Go live in mexico then
The pike wins imo you have to do way more just to get the sturgeon to bite I personally don’t like the fact you only can catch a few fish before skipping the time I honestly like falcon lake because of the bite rate imo! Also I love fighting trout
Nice! Well - glad you’re enjoying the game, playing it your way!
Candy bars
sturgeon
