well it fires at 6000 rounds per minute (or 100 ROUNDS PER SECOND) and if you add the recoil from each shot produced by the .308 round it fires its gonna kick & push you back pretty hard

I'm severely let down by the lack of shooting. You should have propped the plate up better so more rounds could have been put on target.

Too many opportunities for deflection especially at a target that only a few yards away. Well that's my assumption as to why they didn't want it propped up and let out short bursts. At 3000 rpm, he would definitely hit someone if he just "let er' rip"

2. There's a coating on the plate to stop it.
3. If you're that worried about it put a heavy blanket over it.

Super dope video and just the way y'all set it up as far as switching angles from target to shooter and the slower-than-usual frame rate was really unique and fun to watch. The amount of shells dropping to the floor is uncanny considering how you can barely track anything when it's played back at a normal rate.

Firing a mini guns costs a pretty penny due to how much ammo is used in half a second i believe it costs a couple hundred thousand to shoot for 5 seconds

Wesley and Ivanoff have no idea of ammo costs....It fires at a rate of between 2000-6000 rounds per minute (as it's variable) so assuming going by rate of say 3000 rounds per minute it would run out of ammo before 12 seconds is up...it only holds at max up to 600 rounds before requiring a full reload..600 rounds at a cost of .65-.75 cents per round is...$390-$450 probably half that if you reload your own brass...even assuming it's a dollar per round it's $600..say your going to the range with 5 full loads that's between $1950-2250. It can get costly sure..but nowhere near the expense Wesley or Ivanoff mentioned. A smart person would be turning it down to 2000 rounds per minute, burst-firing and reloading their own brass.

Lower RPM and use 5.56 cause shit, the torque is crazy. If you get someone who holds down trigger/freak out, 360 sweep goodbye whole crew.

Ohh I know exactly why they're mounted lol. But IF we were looking to make a more portable version it would have to be down to 3 barrels, gradual RPM increase, as much as counter rotating parts as possible, better ergonomics, prone deployment, and to a smaller caliber. But I guess at that point it's fairly pointless and a m249 would be almost as effective.

Considering 7.62 ammunition is pretty cheap, this thing is pretty awesome considering you won’t be burning through 1,000’s of dollars in 1 second
its like 2.5k for a minute of firing. Not thousands per second. i guess if you account for the weapons price. Maintenance ect you can argue that if youre only gonna fire that thing for 5-10 minutes then the cost is really the cost of the weapon plus ammo plus maintenance ect. Ofc youd recoup some $ by reselling so. So if it costs 200k dollars youd need to fire it for 100 minutes and the total cost would be like 450k + maintenance.

My grandfather gave me a minigun before he passed away this year the day before memorial day...it was useful when i spotted a group if dudes with their pistols and my older brother scared them iff with the recoil sound without shooting a single bullet. He had armor on as well. Im glad my grandfather gave me this weapon for close death purposes.

Here's a tip: If you're being sprayed down by a minigun, body armor or not, you're fucked.
Body armor doesn't protect your entire body so even if they aim for the plates the recoil will throw bullets at your face and legs
