Great video today! So glad you made it to Palenque, one of my favorite stops during my four and a half years traveling around this region of Mexico. 👍🤓
Hi Dennis and Liz! Love this video it was beautiful. Nice you didn’t get a ticket. The waterfalls were beautiful. I love waterfalls. I didn’t know monkeys were loud. And that they made noises. Glad you had a guided tour. Glad you found your bike and didn’t get lost. It’s easy to do when you don’t have signs. The food did look at the end too. Glad Dennis was seeing to that the bike got strapped onto the Rv. This video was great!👍👍👍👍very informational. Thank you!
I just can’t say it enough, Dennis and Liz you two are awesome! What adventures and experiences you two are having. Thank you so much again for including us. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
Absolutely LOVE your channel! Always a nice balance of adventure, education and helpful information. You guys are the best!! Thanks ~ from a faithful viewer in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
It was even more beautiful years ago, when there wasn't camper vehicles, that separated people from nature, with the comforts and consciousness of this modern day world, and the programing that goes along with it. Most grateful, that I experienced it then.
Chiapas is on my wish list. I am very happy to see it get the "ESRV" treatment. Your videos are always entertaining and informative. I am looking forward to San Cristobal de las Casas. Will you be heading to the Chiapas Coast (and then up to my personal favorite area of Mexico - the Oaxaca Coast)? All the best!
One of the most visually stunning Mesoamerican archeological sites, Palenque has landed on the travel map. It attracts thousands of visitors each year and is a testament to Maya ingenuity and knowledge. All of those years, this Maya telenovela was lying protected under the flora of the forest.
We don’t give the Maya enough credit, they were a very smart people. So you get lost in the jungle, then some native Mexican people find you and you become the new king and Queen of Palenque. Liz you keep wearing those bikinis and I’ll be leaving Dennis alone for a while. Hahahahaha. Love you guys. Please be safe. ❤️🇨🇦❤️ Cheers!!!
Awesome video and landscape beautiful ❤️❤️. Greetings from Minneapolis MINNESOTA 🙏🏼🙏🏾🙏🏿 Definitely Chiapas is one of the most beautiful states in Mexico
Another great video hey Liz at Min. 3.03 you look very god whit the hair like that ,,, You and Danis been taking us on a great Journey true South Mexico very beautiful over there , saludos amigos and safe travels
So eerie in the jungle with the noises of the howler monkeys, but cool. I love all the ruins you show in your videos and I have been enjoying seeing your cats as well. Take care and thank you for showing us the spectacular beauty of Mexico.
I once found myself lost in the Rockies west of Denver, sun was going down. I remember water flowed down hill so I wading sometimes through marsh but I knew civilization was always down hill. Found my car just as twilight approached. On my my mine had been bears and mountain lions. 😳
Guys, thanks for the video. Palenque is amazing, and it's a lot better with no crowds! Regarding the police in Mexico, most of the time, they pretend they're going to give you ticket because they expect you to say : "Ok, let get a deal here so I don't have to pay the whole amount" Which means, you are supposed to give them half the money and everyone "wins". Since you didn't do that, he quit filling up the ticket and let you go.
It's so amazing to see all the areas that are still obscured by jungle, and the parts that are uncovered are beautiful! I saw that fog ;) ! Be well and safe!
friends, you should skeep the pyramids of tonina. Near ocosingo it is the largest pyramid in Mexico and it has just been discovered. It is also one of the largest pyramids in the world
I love your videos! I'm so glad you guys show little every day shots of how you get around and use your equipment in Mexico. We're planning on traveling and then moving to Mexico, not via RV, and it's still really helpful and interesting.
Also, I'm glad to see videos on Chiapas. It's on our list, but my current only connection are the face masks that I bought from lady who imports goods from Mexico, and they are hand stitched by little old ladies in Chiapas. They're beautiful and super sturdy.
the ruins and waterfalls both looked epic! Mexico should be paying you guys for your great and extensive promotion of the country! love you videos... the dedication you put into them really shows in the quality. you guys deserve at least 10 times the views you get.
Enjoy following your travels throughout Mexico. Makes me want to zip down there. Keep it up. Both of you do a great job with your commentary and beautiful photography. Such beauty at the falls and your choices for food are always spot on.
@@EatSeeTV I agree the people are friendly. I had a home in Cabo for a number of years and the biggest problem was the police and Federales. Had some encounters for no good reason and spoiled it for me. I figured you had been a teacher as I was for 40 years. You have the gift.
Wow. Chiapas is beautiful. Love your videos, nice mix of history, food, Travel tips and gorgeousness. Here is a question. When you were at the Cenotes, were you requested to use "biodegradable" sunscreen? One of my uncle's (his wife is from Chiapas) says that the Cenotes were being destroyed from a slime that forms from the cream and sunscreen that people use. This was all some years ago but I haven't found any info on wether you have to use some "organic" or "natural" sunscreen anywhere.
In a lot of cenotes sunscreen is not allowed, not sure if it applies to Chiapas but in Yucatán and Quintana Roo thats the case in a lot of them . Hopefully this applies to all of them. It’s be hard to differentiate a biodegradable from a non biodegradable one, so I think banning them all together will be better for the ecosystem in the cenotes. Unless they provide the safe biodegradable one at the cenote.
Question for Dennis.... When you're taking the xmax here & there are you using anything to secure it once at your destination or no? BTW...we always look forward to your vids...thanks!!
Era policía estatal ellos no están autorizado para multar a turistas , están para buscar personas con orden de aprensión que no los vean la cara , los que le pueden poner una multa son federales y tránsito, pero transitó tampoco debe estar en la carretera de alta velocidad
Another good Mexico Monday. The falls were awesome. Liz you didn’t jump? Of course the archeological sites was amazing. BTW.....You might not want to know what those howler monkeys are howling about. Just saying. Be safe guys.
The Mexican federal government has stepped up security and checkpoints in the southern states that border Guatemala because of the current surge of illegal migrants from Central America trying to reach the US border. Personally, I think that's a good thing.
They're saying it has more to do with the spread of COVID but it also may have something to do with the US giving Mexico vaccines and wanting something in return. www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/3/22/mexico-closes-its-southern-border-to-non-essential-travel
they’ve been all over 🤔 ... waiting in the hills & deserts of Baja too 😳 ... if you’re cool, they’re cool 😎 ... but seeing those 5’3” children soldiers holding automatic weapons that are longer than they are tall will straighten you right up 😅
Some South American immigrants yes, but they're mostly from the "Northern Triangle" of Guatemala, El Salvador, and especially HONDURAS, countries with banana governments who let the MS13 and other gangs rule. (A smaller number from Nicaragua too.)
The State police cannot give them fines, they only look for how to bite, They should only look for people with an arrest warrant or disappearances, stolen cars, those who can give fines are federal and traffic but police traffic should not be on high-speed roads
Is 5 eagles the maximum amount of eagles you can achieve on the "Eagle Scale of Coolness"? Much respect for travelling knowing the high possibility of illegal toll passage fees and the unknown. I could not do that. My coworkers from Guanajuato and Michoacan, Mexico tell me the one thing they will not do at all costs in Mexico is travel at night. Everything far safer in the daytime. //Did you hear about DMX? He's not doing too well. Safe travels.
Quick note regarding howler monkeys: never make eye contact, because they are territorial and making eye contact makes them angry! they will not get down of their trees to bite you, but you'll get pelted with fruits, sticks and even showered in warm monkey pee.
I want to live cheaper in Mexico and 17.50 a night is 525.00 a month & higher than most rv parks in the U,S.. Do ya'll know of any parks you can stay at as long as u like for a monthly fee that is only like around 200-250 or even 300-350 if it has wifi ,elec. water,& trash?
There's normally cheaper monthly rates. You just have to ask. I'm sure there's plenty of parks throughout the country around $300 a month. Can't tell you a name of one in particular though
Also RV parks aren't the same down there. You'll have to gauge amenities differently. And idk many RV parks in the USA you can rent under $500 w/ utilities these days. Unless you're in the middle of no where.
some times it is easier to do your voice overs sentence by sentence vs a paragraph.. as you sometimes run out of breath at the end of a paragraph. If one were to consider your experience in video production vs those that have worked in the field. I would say that you have far more creativity and in using that creativity you produce videos that inform and as well are enjoyable. You keep it real.... I watched a video by else rae where she had stated that she was alone, ...... the shot in question, was where she was waking up with an exaggerating yawn..... unfortunately her hand moved, the camera moved, and it was obvious that it was fake.. anyway... keep it up .... you two, are doing extremely well. as to previous comments... it has not been my thought to create concern with the two of you. keep safe, be safe have fun, and be fun.
What ??? Your in the poorest state in Mexico and you paid a guy ( during COVID to boot ) $50 US where they are lucky to make $ 3 US per hour. So this fella wiped your butt for 16 hours ? Dennis, if this this RV thing doesn’t work out, you could be a professional narrator. You do a great job and the information is always so informative.
Love the waterfall. Thanks again..Hugs
Thanks Gwen, so glad you enjoyed it. The waterfall was so beautiful!
Just curious do you and how do you lock up your scooter when you go to towns. I'm thinking about getting one.
Enjoy following your travels throughout Mexico. Makes me want to zip down there. Keep it up. Both of you do a great job with your commentary and beautiful photography. Such beauty at the falls and your choices for food are always spot on.

Today my fifth graders were learning about the Mayans - so we watched the section of the video while you were at the ruins!
That's awesome! Hope we contributed in a helpful way!
With a name like "Gato Salvador" he should be running the local cat rescue.
I thought it was funny the cat couple found the cat guia. :)

Does Gato takes whyskas as payment?

Which month did you go?
This was in March I believe

I believe there is more police in way south México because there is an increase of south America immigrants.
Some South American immigrants yes, but they're mostly from the "Northern Triangle" of Guatemala, El Salvador, and especially HONDURAS, countries with banana governments who let the MS13 and other gangs rule. (A smaller number from Nicaragua too.)
it’s not the police you need to worry about 🤔 ... it’s the bandits that prey on those making their journey north 🤨

Thank you for sharing this! We didn't realize this until now.
We are retiring to San Cris in March and I would like to see Palenque, but then I picture a lot of walking and sweating and insect bites….
It's not bad at all. At least when we were there. The weather was lovely and not a ton of bugs. Enjoy retiring in San Cristobal!
