When I started coming to Mexico every year for 5 years now, my niece has taken me to the beaches but it was the interior of Mexico that I fell in love with. She told me "CHIAPAS" is the most beautiful state. I was surprised. All I knew about Chiapas was the sandanista revolution I heard about on the news in Texas in the 1970s. We are meeting in CDMX and seeing all the historical sites there for 5 days then we are coming to Chiapas for a week. These videos make it seem like paradise! You are lucky to have born in Chiapas.
I love all of the beautiful scenery there! The cascades were great - I'd definitely want to spend a day there. But the rest of the tour seemed very interesting too. Great to get an overview of the area. Adam cracks me up with his songs.

I am headed to Mexico City in April to meet my niece who is flying in from Merida. After 5 days in CDMX (her hometown) , she suggested traveling to San Cristobal to do the Canyon! I had just watched y'alls video & I was screaming YES! NOW...I will suggest we travel to Palenque to see this part of Chiapas and I sure hope she agrees! I love y'all's videos & especially Adam's shenanigans, facial expressions, etc...Heidi, you're a doll. Your enthusiasm is contagious! Please keep on collecting countries! I'm a fan!

Yes!! We didn’t take the Dramamine because the last time we did we got so drowsy and we couldn’t find any non-drowsy. But the turns weren’t so bad. Just couldn’t sleep.
That waterfall with the cave is awesome! I am always amazed at ancient engineering - that the mayan diverted and had a pressured water system - amazing! Great job on the video!

Took an overnight bus from Merida on a whim. It was raining at the ruins. So Magical! Then took a tour up to the falls. They were brown from the rain but still enjoyed ourselves. Excellent meal while there.

My next trip is a Panama Canal cruise with Holland America. It’s a full transit from Fort Lauderdale to San Diego. I mostly do budget travel but enjoy a good splurge once in a while. Mostly looking forward to many sea days relaxing and my must do excursion will be to Lake Atitlan. I’ve got a Mexico trip on the back burner…fly into Mexico City then wander around on buses. So happy to find your channel.

Thank yor for posting. I am doing this trip in January 2023 and I have been reading so much about roadblocks between San Cristobal and Palenque I am considering going to Yucatan instead. I guess starting at 4AM helped you avoid the roadblocks. I am planning to rent a car and spend one night in Ocosingo to see the Tonina ruins. It looks like from 4AM to 7AM between San Cristobal and Ocosingo, there were no road incidents.

Thanks for taking us on your journey. It was beautiful. The action was a bit rushed but we understand why. Sometimes it is better to chase those waterfalls Adam, we don't often know what we will discover. Imagine finding Falls that make you feel like you're one with the universe and connect you to your spiritual power. We just have to get out of our comfort zone. Safe travels.
As always we love having you along! I know - that’s why we normally avoid tours because they are so rigid and we really like taking our own time but hey sometimes there is no better choice! 🙂 wow that would be unreal. I remember flying in a helicopter over Victoria Falls and I was speechless, tears were just rolling down my face. Unreal! Yes we have to push ourselves, and get outside of our bubble! How does Mexico get even more beautiful than before? The falls are so beautiful, loved the little one in the cave, and the ruins! Wow, what a great city they had at one time, and like Adam said, to be in such good condition after all this time, the Mayans were incredible people. I will assume that it's a matter of cost that more excavation is not being done there, what a shame.

Saludos Country Collectors 🥳👋 Those waterfalls are just so incredible…🥰 I visited Palenque back 2006 (with Mexican ex-bf )- around August and it was so hot. We got a guide who explained everything to us … it was an incredible site I also remembering drinking some of that water (it was refreshing) 😄 (and I didn’t get sick either). I do recall going to some waterfall but I can’t say it was agua azul 🤔 This area is def on my list once i am in Chiapas - since I don’t recall my 1st visit too well 🤪🤣

Sometimes it is better to chase those waterfalls Adam, we don't often know what we will discover. Imagine finding Falls that make you feel like you're one with the universe and connect you to your spiritual power.
We just have to get out of our comfort zone. Safe travels.
As always we love having you along! I know - that’s why we normally avoid tours because they are so rigid and we really like taking our own time but hey sometimes there is no better choice! 🙂 wow that would be unreal. I remember flying in a helicopter over Victoria Falls and I was speechless, tears were just rolling down my face. Unreal! Yes we have to push ourselves, and get outside of our bubble! @@TheCountryCollectors I felt the same way when I saw Niagara falls. It is such a humbling experience. Just imagine the beauty of the universe. You get to experience it and share it, and many get to experience it Vicariously.

My wife (and I) get motion sickness sometimes on longer road trips like this one, so I think I may just stay in Palenque itself when I get down there. Hope to get there this summer. You guys are right, though, Palenque is worlds apart from Chichen Itzá (or even Tinochtitlán) as far as ruins go...so much yet undiscovered! Saludos!

How does Mexico get even more beautiful than before? The falls are so beautiful, loved the little one in the cave, and the ruins! Wow, what a great city they had at one time, and like Adam said, to be in such good condition after all this time, the Mayans were incredible people. I will assume that it's a matter of cost that more excavation is not being done there, what a shame.

I visited Palenque back 2006 (with Mexican ex-bf )- around August and it was so hot. We got a guide who explained everything to us … it was an incredible site
I also remembering drinking some of that water (it was refreshing) 😄 (and I didn’t get sick either).
I do recall going to some waterfall but I can’t say it was agua azul 🤔

Hello again guys!! Ohhh this 18 hour tour to Palenque 😱 I think that drive would have killed me - I have the worst motion sickness at the moment, especially if I’m tired haha. WOW Aqua Azule looks incredible, would definitely love to cannon ball in with you Adam! Misol-ha is also stunning and also so tall!! Do be chasing waterfalls 🎶 The Mayans were so extremely cool and intelligent. Had no idea they had female leaders there!? Thanks so much for taking us around guys 🙌🏼
