Rock on Becky! Vancouver Island B.C. is only about 4 hours north from where I live. I love that area! So happy you got to experience the Pacific Northwest! Well done! 😎🌲🏔💚
Honestly, a lot of people have died because they underestimated the size, terrain, and weather of the West. Going out without being fully prepared, exceeding one's fitness limits, getting caught in situations and areas one's not prepared for, have been the end of trailhands a lot more seasoned than Becky. People disappear every year never to be seen again. But our heroine is tough and sensible and handled it wonderfully!
well done on coping with not going to plan! visited Canada in the 80s. lasting memories big skies and mountains like children draw mountains !! well done again
As a Yukoner just want to thanks you for visiting. Your commentary is amazing and the cute accent just hits it out of the park. Mostly thankyou for not giving up on Canada when the fires got going. Have to say your the most charming person on utube. Carry on
And you're still smiling 😊 Well done Becky. You've had an amazing adventure whether it went to plan or not. At least you got off your bum & gave it a go. You're amazing!
😲21 already? 😊Aww, I remember watching you when you were just a 15-year-old toddler playing in the woods. Glad you're well, Ms. Becky. Looking forward to your edits. Hopefully you'll come back across the pond for another visit someday soon. ❤
Smoke has been bad in Alberta since May, and is still bad. I am glad you made it over here though, and hope you enjoyed it! We sure enjoy your storytelling about your adventures!
Becky, you inspire and motivate me to get outdoors again, like i did when i was younger. (I am 54). I have just finished a 3 month overland trip, hiking, swimming, camping, kayaking. Already have the next planned... thank you for reminding me how beautiful life is ❤
I have been patiently waiting for an update on your travels. Obviously the fires was always on my mind. Sounds like it was crazy. Beautiful scenery though. Can’t wait to see the next videos. Thanks girl!!
Evening Becky. Wow what an adventure.....the good and the bad. Life throws curve balls at us and it's how we deal with them that makes us stronger. You did good girl. Can't wait to see the series. Amazing. I've been to vancouver Island and that alone is vast. 😊take care 🎉😊
Becky, you will always be a superstar to the people who follow you. Your zest for life and adventure, and your quest for new experiences are exceptional. Can't wait for the videos and thank you for what you do. Stay well and be safe.
Good evening Becky & thank you for sharing your story ! Waiting to see the videos that follow of your trip. It sounds like you witnessed some of the ups & downs you’ve been instilled ! Acknowledge, accept, adapt & conquer to the best of your ability ! You Parents have done an awesome job of teaching you how not to give up, but to embrace & make the best of it ! Please tell your Family hi when you see them. Stay safe & keep smiling !
Well done Becky. Throughout history, not every adventure has turned out as expected. Take on board what you achieved and build on it. For one so young, just look at what your memory locker has in it. I'm looking forward to your next videos and your next adventure. Once again, well done and take courage. Sel NZ
Just found this channel. Two things hit me right away: this girl is awesome and fearless. this girl is incredibly and unapologetically British. Love it! lol. subbed.
Yay, you were in my neck of the woods!! (Grew up in BC, now living in Banff). The mountain weather sure is wild how fast it changes 😂 Next time you’re back I’d love to give you some killer recommendations for the most gorgeous hikes in the world around the Rockies! The touristy spots in Banff are crazy haha, but there’s literally thousands of stunning backcountry hikes where you’ll see no one for days once you’re away from the main road-side spots. 🥰 Looking forward to seeing what you got up to!
"PLOT TWIST"!!! Some of the best adventures come from the adventures we did not expect. Camping and hiking in our wilderness is very different than camping and hiking in the UK or the EU. Not only being "bear aware", there are cougars too. Looking forward to your videos of this beautiful part of the world. 👍🥰🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Life throws curve balls at times, but sometimes those curve balls present the most interesting situations for growth, flexibility, and meeting new people. Although difficult, flowing like a river seems to be the best solution. Good to see you back Becky and looking forward to the coming videos.
Becky, first of all congratulations on your great accomplishment. And am thankful you are safe. Your trip was not one without literally many dangers to life and limb. I know people from Europe can hardly believe how immense the North American continent is. You are also right about how hard it is to just get any public transportation to most of it. I look forward to the detail videos to come!
Becky, so glad you are safe, sorry that your plans didn't go to plan but life is 10% what happens to you 90% of what you do with it. Sound like through the fires, snow, tornadoes and heat...you did it. Love your channel and all you do...your escape is my escape...keep doing what your doing
Saw this video title and I just knew before watching gonna be either Vancouver Island (Nanaimo) or Alberta (Banff) lol. Going through Kelowna would have been an amazing vlog, but so sad about the wildfires in Alberta and BC.
Sorry your Canada adventure didn't work out like you were hoping it would. Hope your next adventure to North America is much more cathartic for you. Consider the USA, lower 48; it's also an enormous place, and there are TONS of places that have been curated over the decades for backpacking and adventure.
Yes missed your stuff absolutely fantastic to watch you doing this part of Canada, memories of a couple of brilliant films ive been watching, glad you experienced it ,
I wouldn't worry about ANYTHING Becky...when i was 21 i played cards with Sharks , fought with Bears and woke up with dogs and that was only after going down to my local pub but at 62 years old i decided to stop all that a couple of weeks ago and start being sensible..God bless and all the best
This is great exercise especially for people who used to control everything. Just keep going, you are skilled and equipped to survive in any circumstance. Hello from Ukraine
Glad you still enjoyed your time out here in canada, if you do come back, please come to the East Coast, specifically Ontario, Northern Ontario has a lot of canoeing on offer.
Hi Becky, I was thinking about you several weeks ago when our UK news channels were reporting those huge forest fires in Canada. A great disappointment I know when your plans are dashed through no fault of your own. You are young enough and resilient enough to adapt to new situations as you have. I look forward to your rescheduled postings soon.
Look, from someone who stresses out over organising a weekend in Cornwall what you achieve and achieved is way beyond, way beyond, anything I (or a lot of people) could do. Go girl.
All of what you describe in the video... Is every summer in Canada. Lol... I live, and do hiking trips in Canada, been doing so for the past 20 years, and I've found the best time to plan and do long hiking trips is around the end of August and into September. Really looking forward to watching your trip videos!
Wow. Some beautiful footage in this one and it was really interesting to hear your insights. You seem to have acquired a lot of wisdom for someone so young.
Hey, I was in the same boat this summer! And roughly in the same area :) The heat wave and the fires and other unexpected surprises completely changed my entire journey. You can say that nothing went as planned for me, I know exactly how that feels. I'm sorry it happened to you too, if we had met by chance ;) maybe we would have found a cool alternative together. Good luck in your next travels!!!
You should come back packing in the Yukon Territory. It’s parked right beside Alaska we have bigger and better mountains than Banff. The Yukon is over 3 times larger than England. 28.1 million hectares of forest. Only About 40000 people live here and most of them in Whitehorse our capital city. Lots of lakes and rivers Lots of bears. Good times. plenty of hiking opportunities
Hi Becky For America, Canada or Alaska you really need a camping truck (pickup converted for camping) then you can load bike, canoe, paddle board etc. You also need 3-6 months each trip. I hope you can find a way to do that either solo or paired up with a fellow you tuber, maybe a native of the appropriate country. Otherwise you will see too little of these wonderful places. The vehicle also enables you to adjust plans more easily. Maybe land rover would sponsor you as they don’t seem to be big with the travelling campers, except for Eva Zu Beck.
Oh Becky, Sorry about your trip not working out. Those fires have caused so much disruption. And then snow and then heat!😮 But you’re young and can go again. I agree with you about Banff … so many tourists. Vancouver Island is great. We did the West Coast Trail 30 years ago. Looking forward to your videos to see what you did in the beautiful country of Canada.
Ok, the next time you come here, hit me up! There are places and trails and boating things one can do, as well as remote hot springs and wilderness rock climbing too! And I saw on the last clip that you were in Powell River, virtually my back yard! West Coast, Best Coast, very few fires here but lots of adventures to be found… I’ve lived here all my life and only scratched the surface… Bryan from Vancouver
No bike. No problem. You are as honest as ever and I look forward to your future videos in Canada. Big shout out to Speciaized as I have an Epic Disc FSR XTR which is probably the same age as you but feels like new. X
True, Canada is massive, trails are dispersed, weather not predictable, planning is difficult. Answer....Contact Joe Robinet in northern Ontario, plan a few weeks canoe trip, bushcraft sharing, paddling, fishing, hiking, and companionship of kindred spirits. That would make touring a specific area focused and quite interesting. Just a thought.....Cheers!
Really looking forward to seeing what you got up to Becky sounds like a great adventure with a bit of drama along the way bet it was amazing atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Hey Becky, what happened to change your plan was out of your control, so do not feel embarrassed about that. I'm sure people will understand. Glad you made something out of your trip. Looking forward to the following videos. Interested to see where you went on Vancouver Island as my Sister lives over there, she does alot of hiking and would have been a good contact for you if I'd known. I have visited a couple of times so looking forward to this. Always enjoy what you produce. You certainty caught the sun, you have a white band around your finger where there was a ring 🤣
Oh, the fires there are a HUGE problem. That's too bad that you weren't able to beat that 1k miles but it looks like you still had an amazing time and that's what counts! You did a great job at navigating your time and resources and I hope some day you'll fulfill your dream. Edit: also, 400 quid for a bike?! Are they nuts there? smh
Jasper and Banff really are overrun with tourists... you might have had a quieter time in Willmore Wilderness Park. It's similar in terms of scenery and weather but it's also very isolated. We're definitely lacking in transportation options in Canada - if you don't drive, it's really tough to get around, especially in western Canada. But it sounds like you made the best of the situation and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your trip!

That’s very kind :)
I'm from England but live on Vancouver Island. So cool that you came here. Canada is such a beautiful country.
