I appreciate that the first thirty seconds of this clip are an introduction to grass. I have never been outside, and I don't have a good view of the yard from the one tiny window in my mother's basement, so it's great to have a reference.
I've watched like 3 of your videos already and find them to be absolutely essential to picking out mods for overhauling my skyrim aesthetics. I love these, and I appreciate that you took the time to make them.
@@MUTANG_Official I have GTX 1070 and no lags. I use enb and 2k retexture mod with highest game's settings and I'm having stable 60 fps in the cities and 70 in wilderness.
I know I'm late to the party, but I'll comment here to help fight the YT titan and because it's a great edit. Thank you for the showcase. I really dislike long grasses as it makes the sneaking mechanic useless (due to not being able to see anything) and losing the loot as you can't find the corpse (which is important in the early game). I also dislike grass mods that place grass under pine trees. I grew up with pine forests and there is very little grass and shrubbery in a pine forest as it's dark, the needles are thick, heavy and they are very acidic, which makes it damn difficult for other plants to grow. Probably 'Tamrielic Grass' and 'Fantastic Grass and Where to find them' blended would work really well.
Thanks for making this video. So hard to choose a grass mod because you might love the way it looks in one region but not like the way it looks somewhere else, so this video is amazingly helpful because you went through all the regions with each grass mod! I just like grass that is greener so I am using Midsummer - Stylized Grass for Skyrim SE at the moment. The only thing I don't like about it is the clumps of white curved over grass on the northern shores. Does not look very realistic to me and there is just too much of it, so I managed to identified the mesh and texture files of those grasses and deleted them. Also did not like the huge swathes of tall reed grass on the Whiterun plains (example at 2:06, Folkvangr) so I deleted those as well. It worked - I have all the lovely bits of Midsummer - Stylized Grass for Skyrim SE and none of the bits I did not like. I am also using Origins of the Forest (reduced) and Riften Summer Edition - Green Grass in The Rift. My favourite in your video is Tamrielic Grass.
Your videos not even from a modding aspect are truly amazing I some times forget I'm watching for which mods to pick because of your music choices and the scenery alone SO BEAUTIFUL!
Cool comparison video. I really enjoy Folkvangr, but I'm going to have to switch for my next setup because I want to take advantage of complex parallax.
Its insane how many diffrent variations of a simple grass mod people can make and all of them look good and fitting (when used with a patch so it doesnt grow EVERYWHERE)
Thank you for your all very helpfull videos, you save a lot of time when searching for some weather grass or whatever mods ! More than helpfull of public utility ! 👍
@@VSN-wb2ly i personally have very little fps loss from it, and with the DLSS mod its golden. It may differ for each user depending on your hardware. I run a ryzen9 and a 3070
Veydosebrom regions has always been my favorite! Great video but I would recommend lighting to be better when showing the regions. Are there more videos like this for trees, water, snow etc.?
Great video idea, but it really suffered from the poor lighting conditions you chose for the comparisons. Having all comparisons take place on sunny days would have helped immensely.
I am using my own personal mash-up of Tamrielic and Origins of Forest in my new mod list, but man, Realistic Grass Field looks *really* good. Might have to give it a try myself and see how it compares in my load order.
Fantastic grasses and where to find them seems vastly underrated in the comments. It really makes the best effort to blend in and look like it belongs. Also keeps the hight down to more loot friendly levels it seems. And knows to hold back in the snowy mountains. Just by looking at this video that is. I gotta try. Veydosebrom regions also look amazing and does the colouring and blending in very well. But I'm not fond of "grassing" the barren snow areas.
Tamrielic is consistently the best standalone grass mod imo (Folkvangr is a close second because of how incredible it looks in certain situations) but I use the GreenLand mod that combines 4-5 different mods and it's just chefskiss.
Hi and nice work ! 1 suggestion , you showcased single grass mods , but are with or wihtout complex grass ? ( grass mother WYA doesn't have yet) . Could you show us instead the grass mod comparison between the grass pack? ( evoons/QW1 and 2 , nolvus meshup, etc etc) 2 ) In your next video can you show us the Landscape comparison with parallax enable ? for the section for snow could you also add R I M ? thanks !!!
Hi thanks :) No, I don't use complex grass because some mods were not supported. also Love your attention to details and thanks for suggestion really appreciate it definitely use them.
Very blurry picture in the video. For such comparisons, it is better to choose enb with a clear picture. It would also be nice to include a performance comparison.
@@a1racer441yah really has to do with the engine. I play a pretty heavy modded skyrim and range from 90-165 fps outdoors on a 7900xtx/5800x3d @1440p. stays around 130-150fps in most areas. Why the duck am i watching grass grow
XD
I think my mother's specific warning was "If you ever kill a bandit in that grass you will never ever find the body to loot"
I love the looks of Folkvangr grass, but the tundra grass are HORRENDOUS! hahaha
There’s a new grass mod that just address tundra on nexus I just installed!
Folkvangr is the best imo. Adds a bit of color and vibrancy to the landscape whilst also looking realistic with a variety of plants around.
same thought here, other grass mods compared to Folkvangr are boring. Not sayin they are bad but Folkvangr just eats them like 🫰 that

Look for Realistic grasses it has origens of the forest, Tamrielic grass and I think 3D pine grasses. best of all three.

For me Folkvangr+Origins of forest+ natural wildlands Grass& Debris
