How to Catch Fish in a Completely GREEN Lake

- Have you ever seen a pond or lake on the side of the road and wondered if there were any fish in it? Well, I drove by a green pond that looked very fishy and I couldn't resist stopping to fish, so join me on this quick adventure as we fish a private pond while visiting my family! There were tons of bass in this lake and pretty much every cast was a fish! The best part is, this type of fishing is very inexpensive and there are thousands of potential roadside creeks, ponds, ditches, and rivers waiting to be fished! This was a lot of fun and I cannot wait to find my next roadside pond!

You should get a polarizing filter for your camera. It helps with the reflections on the water. Please look into it and keep up the great work!
Great idea! I wasn’t planning on filming and this was shot with just my phone camera but this is a good idea for the main camera!

Chris is one lucky fisherman catching fish after fish while I come home skunked 98% of the time😂, also next time when you fish a pond similar to that use a frog lure its a little bigger and it'll float on the surface maybe that will bring out the much larger bass, hope that helps!👍

Gotta love it. Super respectful to the property owner. If you could, could you show us how you figure out how to know who owns the property? I know you said Zillow, but I’ve never heard of someone using it. Would love to know how to figure out if I’m fishing on private or public water. Thanks!

If you look at the zillow map, and zoom in, you can see property lines. I do it looking for properties to buy

@@Straight_White_Fatherly_Figure I got the Zillow app and am on maps, I see the property lines but how do I know who owns it? It just gives me a estimate on the property. I’m looking at a back road pond but nothings popping up information wise
@@Ricehatasian usually if you are using zillow, the contact information is a realtor. He called a local business, whos phone number is usually on google. Im not completely sure what you can do to ask people other than knocking and asking.

I would personally recommend an Abu Garcia spinning reel, doesn't need to be anything fancy, the 30 dollar walmart one does pretty well, and an Ugly Stik rod, I prefer the 2 piece, and also prefer the 6 foot version, though I usually end up having to get the 6'6" version due to availability in store, both are medium action but the longer one is quite a bit stiffer, then I get a roll of 12lb Berkley monofilament, spool it up (not too much), and attach a snap swivel to the end, but get the black snap swivels and not the brass ones, the brass ones will come apart, and my personal favorite lures is Rat-L-Trap (don't remember which model), white swimbait, white swirly tail, and chartreuse yellow swirly tail. I fish in Kansas. But as for technique, that's just something that's acquired over time, gotta master the flick, I would definitely recommend watching a plethora of different RUclips videos with guys fishing, then just watch what they do, lotta great RUclips fishermen on here

You should definitely get an awning for your hummers roof rack it helps give a nice shade when it’s really hot, whenever I go to the beach in my patrol Ute I always through the poles and hang out under the awning, it saves a lot of skin from burning

I hope you enjoyed your time in my state! I remember as a kid I went to a fishing camp where we spent an afternoon at a private pond a bit South of this spot, supposedly stocked with largemouth bass and it was even greener than this. It was like 30 kids and 4 adults fishing in the middle of Summer and not one of us managed to get a single bite. Fortunately, the rest of the week was spent literally on the Chesapeake bay, or a brackish river just off of it, and fishing and crabbing was massively more successful there.
Haha you had better luck crabbing than I did. I caught 2 keepers the whole day in the Chesapeake. Sounds like I got you beat on the lake front tho haha. It was a good time none the less!

Good look on reaching out to the owner and getting permission. Far too often now seeing RUclipsrs get off on trespassing and then get annoyed when an irate (and rightfully so) property owner confronts them. Excellent vid!
Agreed! I pretend it’s my pond. I wouldn’t want people to randomly fish it without asking.
You should 100% make a video demonstrating the basics and just overall your setup to help beginners! I would definitely enjoy that, as I recently lost the person (my grandpa) that was teaching me, and I know I would definitely enjoy it :)

@@chrisfished mainly crappy, bluegill, an bass. The largest guy ive managed to catch was a 3 pounder.
