They're out of control ▪︎ Rabbit Hunting Air Rifle

- The rabbits are out of control on this small acreage.
With horses, dwellings and an adjacent highway. Safety is as always, paramount.
I'll be running the FX Impact M3 air rifle chambered in .22 cal, Vipertek carbon fibre suppressor and Saber Tactical arca rail.
Thermal scope of choice is the new HikMicro Panther PQ50L V2, shooting Cometa Exact 18.13gr pellets @ 890fps.
As always, extremely happy with the repeatable accuracy from my FX impact and the image out of the new thermal scope is incredible.
For those interested, rabbits are not native to Australia and are considered an invasive pest. When left unmanaged rabbits have the ability to breed up in huge numbers very quickly. They live underground in burrows which pose hazards for livestock, people and pets, resulting in large amounts of erosion.
Final tally for the evening was 67 rabbits all of which were collected.
Was a very enjoyable evening with a great outcome and grateful property owner. - Развлечения
If I’m not back in 4 hours, you call in the hare-strike..
😅🤦♂️
@@RJMHuntingAustraliaGood day sir I just gave you a sub 👍 One question Do y'all eat some of those rabbits all of them or just let nature take its course .. last time I seen someone selling rabbit meat well I didn't buy it because you don't know how these people handle the meat and all that but when I can find somebody reputable I'll buy them love rabbit meat they are expensive over here in the States don't know why but they cost a lot more than a chicken okay I'm going to check out some more of your vids Take care 🇺🇲🦅🌍⚓ USMC
Thanks Bruce
It really varies depending on the property and client.
Some nights they are all harvested for dog food. Occasionally a few for the pot and sometimes just left in situ.
Not allowed to sell them here. The food industry is highly regulated
@@RJMHuntingAustralia 👍 thanks 🇺🇲🦅🌍⚓ USMC
Que Precio Tiene ese rifle des ciénaga de oro cordova
Brought back memories of a trip out past Lithgow, we filled the back of the cruiser level with the top of the tray and ran out of ammunition. We called in at the house to say thanks and when the cocky saw how much damage we'd done he gave us a brick of .22's and a stack of 12g to keep going. You'd have had a happy customer that night!
Awesome effort there John.
Don't see them that thick anymore mate. 👌
@@RJMHuntingAustralia the shotgun barrel was a tad warm lol. Hard to find rabbits in any numbers these days.
I bet it was 😅

That was really epic culling Rod! It’s amazing how that little lead tablet can act as a performance enhancer for the gymnasts amongst the rabbit population. My dad and the Butcher down the road used to go out in Western NSW in the seventies on their rabbit adventures, in a weekend they’d fill to the brim the back of a Holden ute with rabbits. No coolers back then, and bring them back to Parramatta and sell them by the pair in the butcher shop, and sell the lot!
Some of them certainly carry on a bit.
The good ol days. A distant memory now unfortunately mate. 👌
Yep, my Dad and his brother used to do the same out the back of Gawler SA, and they were booked out solid.
Nothing like rabbit sangas and salt with cheese
what do you mean? @@RJMHuntingAustralia
As a foreign viewer this was hard to watch, but i did. Your shooting skills are beyond impressive and i respect a lot that you do the best to get rid of them without make em suffer! Well done!
Thankyou 👊
I must say air rife come a long way since early 70.s
Certainly have mate. 👌
Some spectacular dives and amazing break-dancing. Much enjoyed. Big Steve, East Yorks., UK
Glad you enjoyed it mate. 👊
Nigh night Peter and family ! Excellent service to the country
Thanks champion 👊
One happy landowner, that's an unreal amount on 30 acres. Fair play to you Rodney.
Was a great night mate. 👌
I already was aware of your excellent shooting skills but man, that thermal scope you're using is really outstanding.
Yeah, it's a sweet bit of gear. 👌
Brilliant video, thanks again for an amazing session, I was truly gobsmacked by the field of rabbits in the initial start of the video, 63 rabbits, bloody brilliant. Real shame I don't live closer. I use the Two Fat Ladies recipe for ragout of rabbit. Rod if you have not seen the video where they cook the rabbit, I am sure you will find it of RUclips. Cheers
Appreciate that mate. Thankyou 👊
Wow, air rifles have come a long way... I remember the older rifles that one used in the old fair grounds back in the 60,s. Enjoying your videos. Cheers
Thanks Steve 👊
Mmm southern deep fried rabbit. Here on you tube. Thanks mate
Cheers mate 👊
Great job as always Rod. I was actually going to say Elmer Fudd will be jealous with you getting so many wabbits. Maybe you could teach him a thing or two. 😂
Haha. Poor Elmer 😅
I like watching these videos sometimes but I find it incredible that RUclips doesn't take them down! They are kinda ruthless.
Compared to some of the things I've seen on RUclips, this is pretty tame.
Really enjoyed this video Rod. Looking forward to the next!
Much appreciated Chris 👍
Great Work! Rabbits are definitely getting out of hand again on many properties in nsw at the moment.
These hi teq air rifles are a game changer. Nothing like the old break barrel my old man had 50 years ago for the black birds digging up his garden.
I couldn't imagine being without mine. 👌
They cost thousands of dollars though. A Ruger 10/22 is $450. Not any of the accessories, just the gun itself. 🤷🏻♂️
They are expensive but a lot of my work requires this type of setup for safety purposes
My rws break barrel isn’t to bad I wish I could afford that scope
Awesome Rod
Haven't seen numbers like that for years
Miss the underground mutton
Same. Don't see them in good numbers all that often.
Makes for a fun night out though. 👌
Your a top bunny snapper. Job well done Rod.🤠
Thanks champion 👊
Thats an incredible amount of rabbits. Holy crap!
Certainly a good night out mate 👊
Excellent shooting, and great photography.
Thank you for taking time to post, and always looking for more
Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it Scott. Thanks 👊
When you consider a rabbit can have 3-4 litters per year with an average of 5 per litter… and rabbits can breed as young as 2 months - I would suggest that 2 rabbits could produce twice as many rabbits as you shot in this video in 1 year.
Absolutely. In a good year, no doubt. 👍
What. You shot " through the fence". Better tell Nathan about this revolutionary technique.
Definitely a talent I'm not willing to share. 🤣
Good effort right there 👍
My rig for clearance shooting is a .25 FX Wildcat, Falcon M18 4-18x44 scope, and a HIKMICRO Ultimate Thunder mounted to the front to turn my dayscope into thermal. Works a treat. I have a Mk2 Impact but I prefer the Wildcat.
Nice setup mate 👌
So this is what 32.6 ft/lb looks like. Must be nice! First-class marksmanship.
Thanks mate. 👊
I really enjoyed this one Rod and got a huge laugh out of the couple of drama queens dancing around there before finally conking out hahaha. Keep up the good work old mate.
Will do mate. Thanks Daniel 👊
Rap Dancing
lovely nights work Rod, no stress. and no black panther either, are the moggies hibernating mate. 🤣
Always impressed with your no nonsense approach, to nailing the little feral bar-stewards.
Thankyou mate
Another excellent video Rod, well done.
Geoff. UK.
Many thanks Geoff 👊
Nice job Rod! Loving my PQ50L v1.0 on my Impact mk1 - not sure I'll get the firmware update to add the ballistic calculator but one can hope!
Fingers crossed, it will be available to v1 and v2 panthers, if and when it comes out.
the rabbit at 5:20 busting out his best peter garrett dance moves
Lol. It was ridiculous 😅
Cracking video as always !!
Thanks champion 👊
You never miss!!
I bet the sea eye aye has your number 😂
Haha. I doubt that mate 🤣
Danke! Wenig Blabla und viel Video! Top!
Cheers mate 👍
Nice setup you have and you got her tuned in well.
Cheers mate 👌
The break dancing wabbit at the 5.22 mark🤣🤣🤣
They sure carry on sometimes. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Might have to change my zoom setting to what your using on my Panther, looks like the smooth option is the way to go. You do make it look easy though.. Love your work.
Appreciate that mate 👊
Continually impressed at how you describe what you do and why. A really great role model for all.
Much appreciated mate 👊
Great vid as always!
Cheers mate 👊
I have gophers like you have rabbits. We just have big jackrabbits but not in that quantities. We also have lots of coyotes that keep them under control
Great work Rod good clean up
Thanks Glenn 👍
5:22 is the Neymar of the rabbit world 😅
Mega-steady hand, subbed.
Much appreciated. Thankyou mate 👍
Never-ending number of pests. Great job as always and super impressive gear !
Cheers buddy 👍
That Panter 2.0 looks supreme!
Very impressed with it so far mate. 👌
Amazing scope Rod.
Zoom is so smooth , brings them right in.
Super accurate rifle and shooter.
Not to be a pain in your butt Rod ,
i would really love to see you standing side on to your rifle
filming it
on a pitch black night
, just as if
i was standind next to you at night in the paddock
and say to the viewers
this is how it looks from a bystanders perspective at night
then pan over with the camera and look down the scope to reveal how
dark turns into daylight , then pan back into blackness.
Im sorry if that is long winded but i really want to see how it looks from a bystanders perspective.
I hope I explained it well enough to you so you get my concept.
You are so SKILLED at your work , i,m sure you could do a excellent job at filming my idea .
It has Puzzled me for years .
Please feel free to delete this post from your comments page when you have read this SO
i don't annoy your readers . Thankyou So Much ROD.
From Chris 😊.
All good Chris. I'll try and get some footage next time I'm out and probably throw it up on my Facebook page.

Thanks Pete 👊
Great job again. That one that got away only did so because it moved at the exactly correct time. I reckon it got a haircut.
I think so too. 🤷♂️
Those things are like Cockroaches 🪳.
Excellent eye sir 👍🏻
Thanks mate 👊
...."look out, lads!....it's the 'Bunninator'!!" ;)
Lol. I've been called worse 😉
So theraputic TO WATCH. NEAT SET UP.

Great Video 💯Thanks for sharing 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Much appreciated mate. Thanks for checking out the channel 👊
The one having a fit at 5.22 made me laugh.
Made it difficult for a follow up shot. 🤦♂️

Hello, you are doing a good job.

My neighbour remembers when the Rabbito would come around with rabbit on a stiick for sale. Out Penrith way.
Superb kit and trigger discipline...
Thankyou 👊
This is amazing great video
Thankyou mate 👊
A blemish or two otherwise exquisite marksmanship - fabulous
Cheers mate 👍
Many years ago I visited a island off the Oregon coast fhat was overun with rabbits people weld chairs on the side of pickup trucks and drove down the road at night with nets and they scooped them up and dumped them into 55 gallon drums in back of trucks .
Nice top stuff .
Thanks!
Not taking anything away from your skill but doesn't modern tackle make thinks easier than olden days How did we manage ? Brilliant video Thanks 👍🇬🇧
Absolutely it does David. Incredibly accurate rifles and thermal gear is a game changer mate.
Those rabbits are huge!
Just average size mate. Nothing out of the ordinary 👍
@@RJMHuntingAustralia The big feet thru me off. Lol.
Is the X in the reticle Ballistic Holdover (suggested shot placement) like the Pard or is it LRF distance indicator only?
Yes it is mate.
Been testing a beta version.
Ballistics calculator has just been released in a new firmware update for the Panther V2.0 today mate.
Wow... amazing...❤❤❤
Thanks
Simply outstanding!💥👏👏👍👍👍
Thankyou 👌
Good grief! So many rabbits 🐇
Not quite that many there now. 😎
Nice work.
Thankyou Sir 👌
Mmmm,, Elmer Fudd never seen so many Wabbits!!😋
😅👌
Superb effort mate 👍
Thanks champion 👊
Top bit of shooting again, well done. That Panther that you are trialing, did I notice a secondary crosshair indicating that it has ballistics software in it? I've heard that the 2.0's released later in the year will come with ballistics capability and I contacted Hik through their Facebook page and they haven't replied.
Ballistics calculator has just been released in a new firmware update for the Panther V2.0 mate.
Can someone please make a game like this :-) Great shooting skills. Love your videos!
Thanks
Impressive, as ever. I'd be interested to see your rest.
Using a Bexin ST424C carbon fibre tripod mate
I guess the foxes are going to have a big feast now.
No mate. All the carcasses were collected. 👌
Very impressive
Thanks
Awsum ma man damm you had a field day🤙
Always a great night out on the bunnies mate.
@@RJMHuntingAustralia rite on it looked like fun 🤙
Awesome gun!
Thankyou. It is pretty cool. 👌
The fox wasn't dopey, he was thinking, "I'm sick of fur in the mouth, same meal for the past 30 nights, I want CHICKEN!
🤣 maybe
Superb!
Thanks a lot! 👊
Ehat happens to the dead rabbits? Are they left to rot in the field? Are they collected and disposed? Do you keep qny for consumption or dog food?
Congrats to huben for taking gold at the 2023 usa extreme benchrest compatition using the awesome k1..
Excellent session, and, you didnt hit the wire, you should teach that trick to you know who ;)
Wow,amazing skill ,,can i have that one....good job rod...👍👍👍👍
Thanks champion 👊
Classy work as always.👍 Is this a 640 sensor model Rod?
How did you find the jog dial button, still very sensitive?
Thanks mate.
Yep 640 model.
If you're referring to the zoom dial. I really like it. Slow and smooth works best. Sometimes if you go too fast it can't quite keep up.
