    I laughed when I saw the "delta" and thought about how 40k just can't seem to get that in their documents

      I'm happy for them! Warcry should get more updates! Sigmar gets lots of new models and Warcry is the kind of game where almost all of them can be used!

    I'm pretty hyped for Warcry at the moment. Kill Team is great, but Warcry scratches my building itch.

    Man, I was just griping about the KT balance dataslate, telling a buddy of mine I wish they'd highlight the new changes more. I love how they did this here!

    Regarding the mixed messages thing - I think that the message is that Warcry is now going to be more closely coupled to Age of Sigmar than it was in the 1st edition. We're no longer going to see warbands of people who worship Chaos in quirky ways, we're going to see warbands that are closely connected to Age of Sigmar factions.
    Warcry did get one small balance update early on this edition, where monsters received a blanket points increase, mainly to counter one monster that was running rampant in the competitive game. That update also grandfathered in a bunch of old rules for Underworlds warbands, which expanded the model options significantly but did also bring in some balance issues of its own. And in the past few months we have seen substantial revisions to the Cities of Sigmar and Flesh Eater Courts warbands. But this update is bigger than anything we've had before in this edition.

    There have been at least two other FAQ-style PDF balance updates for Warcry since 2nd Edition came out, (besides this newest one). Maybe more, can’t recall the exact amount.

    I like Warcry, it's simple and fun, perfect when you just want to move some miniatures around and chuck dice with a cold beer

    In your opinion, is warcry playable with square based models?

  • @benares180
    @benares180 8 месяцев назад +1

    Awesome. Now all they have to do is make getting the warbands more accessible. Easy?

    • @GlassHalfDead
      @GlassHalfDead  8 месяцев назад +1

      They did a good job of this at the end of the last edition when they released those "demi kits", half sprues from their full sigmar range as little warcry warbands. More of those, I say!

    I played Warcry 1st edition and absolutely hated it, i think it was a pretty bad game, and have only recently come around to it after continually hearing from irl friends that 2E was good for like a full year

    • @GlassHalfDead
      @GlassHalfDead  8 месяцев назад +1

      If you absolutely hated it, nothing has changed! I played Warcry when it first came out and really enjoyed it for a few months before dropping off. So there's something in there for me that I gelled with. It was the nuances that turned me off (like a third of your team only being on the board in the final turn. Excessive RNG at times, etc)

    Have they removed reactions and the ban on movement while engaged? Still no thanks then.

      Actually yes. If you read the FAQ it's hidden away in the middle. It says "I dunno man, just play how you like tbh whatevs lol". So you're good to go!

      From your "haha" I'm guessing you think Warcry is more complex than Kill Team? I'd love to know why! Always interesting to hear alternative ideas :)

    • @bencops
      @bencops 8 месяцев назад

      @@GlassHalfDead no I think they’re the same “hardness” - both really great. Kill team arguably simplified (for the better) but the challenge is in the tactics not the game complexity.

      I do think that kill team is crunchier than Warcry (except for in list building obviously lol) but then I'm a dirty casual who would like to see kill team get easier 🤷‍♂️

      @@GlassHalfDead warcry is spicier with the tactics - much more thinking on your feet in my experience. They’re both great.

    This is the community we are apart of? Its wild that a community can say rude things to a content creator giving some exposure to their game.
    All eight Warcry players should be ashamed of themselves.

    I think dropping the idea that the warbands have been "scrapped" needs to go away. You won't be able to continue to buy them, but things you have a clearly valid because they've done both points adjustments and new rules. Let's consign the histrionics to history.

    • @Crushanator1
      @Crushanator1 8 месяцев назад

      I think it's it's a pretty common idea among the Warcry players that those warbands will no longer have rules in the new edition (basically guaranteed to be next summer) and it's actually very bad for the health of the game if they aren't dropped from the game into Legends (since it means a strong tournament team could be permanently unavailable or spike in price on secondary market)

    • @reubenmccallum3350
      @reubenmccallum3350 8 месяцев назад

      @@Crushanator1 this is already the case - there are Underworlds warbands that are used competitively that aren't available. But of course, anyone can use those rules with any model they want, because what rules a given model has is up to the player, not GW. Proxies are easily done with a modicum of imagination. I don't think anyone can say with any certainty what the shape of the next rules will be.

      If you rewatch the Metawatch video, John Bracken says starting 4:19 regarding older bespoke point changes “Not just to allow you to buy more of those [old, bespoke] war bands, which you could if you wanted to, but also again to invest in some of those powerful allies…” Combined with the fact that the Chaos war bands were put on Temporarily Out of Stock Online, came back last night with most of the war bands selling out again, and went back to the same temporary status, I think that they’re safe again, at least for the foreseeable future
