Im 16 and have been trying to build a game collection. But I had an original Xbox and it was lost a long time ago. I got a Xbox 360 and a PS2 and my mom threw them away for no reason. Now I'm stuck with only a ps3 slim, which is a start I guess. I used to have a ps3 fat but it was lost also. Can anybody help me out with some advice or something?
First thing's first since you're only 16 start by investing in the ps3 since it is your only console once you get a job you can start with your next console second try to convince your mom that you want to start collecting and that those consoles and games are going to be worth a lot in the future once you get a job start collecting for a console that's still fairly priced (ps2, wii, Xbox, 360, ps1) basically a console who's games and accessories aren't too expensive still once you onto a good spot or have a well paid job and want to go even higher you can start collecting for a console that's actually quite expensive (GameCube, n64, dreamcast, bc ps3, wii u) and so on a so fourth
I got about 200 games for ps xbox 360 and some old school consoles and a bunch of accessories some where I might have to find them and see what's in there can't remember what was in the lol
I like modern video games. However, I absolutely despise drm, which almost every major game distributer uses. What are you supposed to do when you're in a position where you don't have internet or it went out? They use drm to "prevent piracy" but in reality what it actually does is inconvenience/punish the legal purchaser of the software. Like, I PAID for the game, I shouldn't have to connect to the internet to prove I purchased it to play. I play mostly on pc for the best performance, but if you don't have wifi, my entire steam library isn't playable unless I crack each game individually. Nobody should have to do this. That's where these older consoles shine so brightly. When you bought a game, 100% of it was on that disc. No nonsense. No internet check required. Physical media needs to be valued to the highest extent. I have 2 Xbox 360 consoles with a very healthy library for such an occasion. Plus, that was by far my most favorite gaming era. Everything is so good. It kind of hurts to see someone give up their library, but to each their own.
