I love the ride price manager plugin. It makes the game a whole lot easier and I would never thought of charging those prices for guests to go on rides.
A little late to the party, but I am trying to run RCT2 and encountering some problems. When I go to my purchased games in GOG, it does not show the same files as in the video under 'Download offline backup game installers'. Where in the video there is only one file, it nowadays shows two - a part 1 (1MB) and a part 2 (533 MB). When I download the first one, I can run through the whole process until trying to open with OpenRCT2, then it gives an error ('cannot find file Data/g1.data') and I cannot proceed. Downloading part 2 gives a .bin file that I cannot open in any way, or unzip. Anyone any tips on how to make this work? I was so looking forward to playing!
Use the part 2 file and follow the steps in the video. Once you get the "Data/g1.data" error, back up to the main directory (RCT2 folder in the video) and the game should open.
hi, I had the same problem. I bought them game, and had two files, one was .exe and the larger .bin ... wouldn't work. So I downloaded the game (one exe. file) from Upload heaven.... for free... did all the same steps in the video, and now I am playing. hope it helps if you were desperate like me! and when I first opened there were no scenarios, but a restart of the game fixed that.
I have tried but when I try to extract the files, it appears "Done with 1 error"and none of the files were extracted in the selected folder. May you help me?
this didnt work, there are two parts to the gog downloads now and the second part doest open as an .exe file and it gave me an error message when trying to follow your steps
@tubecody I was able to buy RTC2 pack from steam and then run a function that let me download the files from steam. I was able to sync up rtc2 and open rtc, but I haven’t figured out how to do so for rtc1.
NOW YOU TELL ME?!? 🤣 No worries, but I did just buy a Windows laptop to play some old school games that ain't ever gonna be on a Mac. But now I can put OpenRCT2 wherever I want. RIP all my free time...
Hey, I want to install it on my super old iMac from 2010 with High Sierra and the issue is that the extractor does not work on this old grandad :D ... Does anybody have some other extractor for this case? thanks!
Do you know where the saved games go? I have a MacBook and iMac, so I’d like to be able to play my saves on both, but I can’t figure out where they save to
I know this is of topic im fairly new to the game im currently building a park but I really want to use the object editor utilities but every time I go to download the page I click on the page then 2 seconds later it disapperars Im I doing somehting wrong? does it need to be put in a certain folder eg plugin folder Im clearly missing something any help and advice would be great as I really want to use this tool?
Thanks for the reply Yes ive just checked my downloads its 100% there downlading and extracting it isnt a problem its just every time I go to open the page it dosnt load and the program disapperars im at a loss with this I really want to use this tool just diasappointing I guess.
should be the same way! Just select the file path for RCT1. Got to find a way to get it to your Mac though. Not sure on where to get it. I'll try to do some research on that
This doesn't work - I get an error when using the extractor tool and then get an error when specifying the directory in OpenRCT: "could not find /data/g1.dat at this path"

Ahhhh! So sorry :( Where exactly in the process did you get that error? Have you tried restarting your Mac and trying again, or try to start again from scratch?
I am still having this issue because gog now shows two different files. One is exe file and another in a bin file. Not sure how to extract both since they are separated now.

yes! it really is so much easier
GOG won't let me buy as not compatible for Mac? Any way around this?

I'm stuck there as well. I have not been able to find a solution that's safe. Upload Heaven is not a safe option.
In OpenRCT2, instead of selecting the 'app' folder, select the root folder where you extracted all the game files. Enjoy!!
@@siddharthshinde4480 That worked! thanks G

Same for me, did you find a solution
How do i get the Rollercoaster 1 map/campaigns into the game
this didnt work, there are two parts to the gog downloads now and the second part doest open as an .exe file and it gave me an error message when trying to follow your steps
Ahhhh so many memories playing this in the early 2000s, thanks for this man. Brilliant vid and tutorial 👏🙏🏻
Yes!! I’m so glad you watched :)
Wake up the king of rollercoaster tycoon has posted 😮
I’m pretty sure Marcel holds the title of King. I’ll accept prince though :)
@@TubeCodyNO for ME You hold the crown Why because I don't watch Marcel BUT I watch him very little so you hold king Marcel holds prince
Thank you! Now I know how to relive my childhood!
You’re welcome!! Tell everyone you know!

SORRY I just learned last week and that’s why I made the video. Haha
For me it does not work because I cannot extract the zip. I have RAR extractor expert and it says I cannot unpack the file with this program
Dang :/ on a Mac you should just be able to double click the file, and it will unzip it for you… Did that not work?
did you solve it? im so sad...
@@Tamar.Langbord noo not yet… don’t know what the problem is with extracting
Did everything correct but I can’t find the openRTC file :(
can I do this on a MacBook Pro 2017 with Ventura?
I think so!
Hey, I want to install it on my super old iMac from 2010 with High Sierra and the issue is that the extractor does not work on this old grandad :D ... Does anybody have some other extractor for this case? thanks!
Oh no!! Might need to consider updating the OS 😢
Do you know where the saved games go? I have a MacBook and iMac, so I’d like to be able to play my saves on both, but I can’t figure out where they save to
I am actually not sure to be honest :/ I know it’s not a typical file directory like a PC
I'm able to get OpenRCT2 to open but there are no scenarios :(
Same
Fix: Close it and open it again.
Great vid. Anyway you could assist troubleshooting? No scenarios pop up once I am in the game on the menu
Thanks! Try closing the game and restarting. I had to do that a couple times before scenarios showed up. May even restart your Mac.
I had to close mine and reopen it and they showed up for me
@@TubeCody Thanks for the help.
I’ve been having issues trying to get the zip file for the game. After downloading it, I did not receive a zip file. Anyway, you can help me ?
Tweet me a screenshot!! I want to help! @realtubecody
Can you show how to do it on a Chromebook? I’ve been having difficulty installing it for the longest time
What happens when you try? I wasn’t aware that chromebooks were different

Hello! Sorry for the late reply.
Is the file visible in your downloads folder?

Thank for the video, When I try to extract, it gives me an INVALID FORMAT notice :(
oh no :( what is your Mac OS? Have you ever been able to extract things on this Mac?
i got the steam version does it work for this? if not ill have to get the gog one i guess
Yep!
anyone have issue with not seeing the scenarios?
Will the summer bash include a summer bag?
I think that can be arranged! :)
Is there a way to link the RCT1 content too?
should be the same way! Just select the file path for RCT1. Got to find a way to get it to your Mac though. Not sure on where to get it. I'll try to do some research on that
