This undertale au is my favourite because it shows the true essence of Asgore as he is the most complicated character in the game.
Aleezaa Bella most comics also underestimate how powerful asgore is. He only does not display his true power because he does not want to fight us

I love this, because it hits in something thats pissed me off about the undertale fandom. For all the depth of looking at the other characters, their background, their motivation, its seemed like for the longest time, Asgore got given the shaft the most.
He isn't a bad guy, in fact to me he's the sweetest guy in undertale. He just went though hell, losing his children, and the weight of so many people on his shoulders needing him to do something, he was pushed into a single path he couldn't find a way to deal with his grief besides what happened to the humans.
But he didn't want it, he just wanted his family back, his kids, and Toriels hatred for him in the end isn't justified, sure she was dealing with grief in her own way and went though hell just as much, but he never turned his back on her, they needed one another, and she turned her back on him.
MrTaurenshaman I agree! This is part of why I love this comic, is it highlights that Asgore isn't completely to blame, and that Toriel isn't blameless.
What happened to the Dremurrs caused Asgore to lash out, and Toriel to run away from the issue. Both actions were wrong in their own ways.
Preach. This has also pissed me off as well especially since most the time Asgore is just thrown to the side for sans and toriel to get together.
"I'm a fan of undertale." If I say this to anyone besides my other undertale friends, I'm portrayed as a weirdo or a jerk. In fact, someone I knew since third grade mocked me for listening to the undertale ost. This is what the stereotype of the undertale fandom does to just normal people who are invested and fell in love with the characters of this game. Not to say that your opinion is bad, I agree, asgore has definitely been shouldered by the community. I'm just saying that these kinds of things (such as just giving random important characters the shaft) has torn the UT fandoms reputation to pieces. But, welcome to the internet.
P.S. if you like this kind of portrayal of asgore, watch handplates. Granted, 90% of it is about gaster, sans and pap, but if you go far enough, asgore will enter the Frey as someone who is haunted by and regrets his path. He is darkened by losing his children and his wife. He is a LOT more down to earth than most portrayals.
JackPlaysMTG Love Handplates. It's flashback of when he found Asriel, and his fury is exactly how I pictured it. Not that the one from Growth Spurt isn't good. They are both actually really accurate on how people can act when greaving.

Frisk addressing themselves in the 3rd person was unexpected, but it doesn't feel wrong either. All the voice actors did a wonderful job. The music was good too though I didn't notice it the first time through because that's how good background music should be.
Benjamin Coyle that was second person - 'you' is one word used in second person perspective
This was done because the creator of the comic decided that he'd rather keep Frisk more like they were in the game by keeping their dialog in second person. He believed it captured more character.

I frequently find myself coming back to watch this and the voice acting is amazing.
That "You have...what?" sounds so genuine. The way what was pronounced. You can feel that confusion. Hearing something that sounds impossible and her confused tone nails home how she couldn't mentally process hearing those words.

You and SlickSlack did a BEYOND amazing job with this comic!!! You did a marvelous job with Frisk and Toriel, and I was SUPER impressed with Slick's Asgore :))) And his adult Asriel voice... AAAHHH I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! I really should check out his channel, he seems like he's an incredible voice actor :D
Also, you both did FANTASTIC with displaying the emotions in this comic!!! I felt those characters' feelings so much, it began to physically hurt at one point 'x3

Agreed . I ... something I burieid in the memory which I forgot has ... similiar issues , when the jokes were not pleasant and I felt them as they affected me deeper .
Now sometimes I feel like I'm stabbed continiously , sometimes .

Seriously though, you guys have amaaazing chemistry in this. I've been a fan of Pootoo's for so long, and it felt so to hear it in audio form, and even to recite some lines along with you guys. Your REALLY did a good job setting the theme. And the video and audio editing is amazing, and so immersing! I especially like the music. It was seriously well chosen and just felt like it was designed to be with the scene - I found myself checking he description to see if it was custom-made just because it was so hecking fitting. Also, it was hilarious to hear Mettaton Medley and Slick asking if Asgore should be cut slack. Everything that a comic dub should be in just a few minutes! Boy am I going to have this on replay.

WOW. I've just gotten onto the Growth Spurt train but I am AMAZED by the dub quality in this.
I've been lurking around MoTI's videos since Death by Glamour, so eventually, seeing your comment every video was essential. Hearing you made it into Chrono Trigger the Musical gave me dancing-in-my-seat joy. Imagine my surprise when this pops up in my recommended.
I think one of my favorite moments is when Frisk is super casual at letting Toriel know just how many times Flowey's killed them.

Slack's energy as Asriel really drives home his letting out of his pain. Your Toriel and Frisk are solid, and Slack's Asgore is great too. He really does sound like Asriel's father--an advantage of both voices coming from the same VA ;)
I'm pretty sure Growth Spurt is now one of my absolute favorite "potential future" AUs.

while i dont agree that asgore's killing wasn't 'justified' (i mean all killing is bad but come on)i absolutely adore this comic... the voice acting and music and sound effects brought it all together too. the way their voices portrayed their anger and regret was just so well done.... i love this comic because it shines a light on how unfair toriel is being to asgore as well. the part where toriel and asgore talk (not seen in this dub) points out a lot of the mistakes that toriel made, which a lot of people don't focus on. because they like the thought that goat mom was perfect and blameless and asgore is unredeemable, which is the opposite of the message of the game. i could write a full essay about this but the comment section isnt really the place lol

This comic series is hilarious and also somehow manages to make me feel emotions too, but it raises a question. Frisk has been shown to be small and childlike in this comic so far, and is probably anywhere from 7 to 10. They later admit that they were killed at the very least a couple thousand times by Asriel, and that doesn’t even count how many times they were killed by other characters. How are they not in therapy and/or scarred so badly they can’t look at any main character without panicking in fear of pain and death? How are they even FUNCTIONING?!
Emotions, great voice acting, video editing. These are the ingredients chosen to make the perfect comic dub
You know,I'm really glad someone got the idea to call out Toriel for her judgment on Asgore. No one seemed to think or even discuss about this way back(it's more noticeable to me since I had thought about it for a while now),so it's nice that it's finally brought into light.

Genet Hagos it’s not death by glamour, it’s actually the mettaton medley, the part right before the cooking and news show I think. You can tell because of the speed and it sounds lower in pitch
