awesome, nice looking cars. love swapping. I dont want to own an EV that I can't swap the battery from. Simple as that. I want to be able to monitor the integrity of my vehicle , and EV is only as good as it's battery. Plus the time saving swapping on trips and so forth. Just all around number one company. They figured it out period.
the improvement is great. save 1 minute in time and now is 4 minutes per swap, and next generation will be 3 minutes. I hope next generation they increase the top area of the station to fit 6 more batteries and also the bottom area to fit 3 more batteries and also for better ground clearance in case of heavy snow/rain. that will make 30 batteries stored in total. also put a big screen inside of these swap stations so they can run some advertising like in gas stations and make some extra profit.
4 minutes is nice. Can they please get this down to 1 minute with the V4? And can they please launch low cost NIO cars at below $25K? Also, very important, you have to convince all the other EV brands to adopt this battery swap system as a standard! Be open and transparent about any licensing or costs involved. Preferably no licensing cost should be, make it a free open standard. Thank you. 👍
I have been driving EVs here in the uk since 2015 and have clocked up over 200000 miles in 3 different evs now including a 2014 Tesla. I know for a fact the biggest problem with EVs is the battery degradation and the time it takes to charge (dont bother about the so called 120KWh charging as that only happens for a short time and vast majority of charging time is about 50 to 70Kw) and now the cost of charging as well as the lack of space to charge as there are so many EVs and only a handful of spaces (other day all the Tesla chargers were used up with about 7 other cars ahead of me). I am fed up of all these things. It takes longer and costs more to drive and you wont always get any spaces. This Neo battery swap gen 3 appears to be amazing. It solves the time, space (rapid turnover) and importantly the battery degradation problem. The latter is the reason why I wont buy EVs anymore. I will lease so not worry about the degradation.
Looks like a time savings of about 3 minutes. That pretty substantial. Glad they're using the weigh of the vehicle itself (directly) for stabilization. Wish they would adopt a circular footprint and eliminate the double pump egress. You should be able to pull up at 45° angle to the station, and back in straight away, in one singular movement. That, or just have more drive-through stations. This swap process needs to get down to two (2) minutes, measured from the time you start driving in to the time you start driving out, with no more than 2 minutes in between swaps. Swaps also need to be prioritized by aggregating data on ETA to a swap station, ETA to final destination, and remaining battery life, so the algo can find an ideal combination of those three factors, and decide who goes where, when and why, to avoid line cutting. Gen1 swap stations need to be retired or repurposed for NIO Power grid management. I have at least 20 things I would seek to change, here, where it concerns NIO battery swap. The NIO machine needs to start operating more efficiently. I really hope Gen4 is gonna up the antee.
I'm not sure how many gen 1 swaps are still around. I know there is at least still one in shenzhen, but two others nearby have been decommisioned. With regards to backing in once, I think it has to do mainly with space. Quite a few PSS are in lots without much space, so they standardized the parking process and have you start the auto park directly adjacent to the station. Requires back and forth a bit, but presumably can work at every PSS. If you start further away of course it could easily back in, but you can't guarantee every station will have space across from it to do that unfortunately.
@@Eric_Garrison Btw, thank you for continuing to produce videos on NIO. I've followed your work on and off. I've been invested in NIO since it was sub-$2.00. Was gonna ask, did you get a chance to test the 500kw supercharger? If it works the way I'm assume ng it should, NIO should be working to upgrade it's entire super-charging network. It's the most profitable part of their business, by a long shot.
Probably because the starting point is directly adjacent to the swap station. Space is at a premium generally so they put the square where you can activate the auto park very close to the station... I'm sure if they knew they had more space at every location they could adjust the starting point, but most parking lots are small.
Hey Eric, I wonder if you know more about this? In the trailer for the swap station 3.0, they showed that you can leave the car before the swap and then after the swap is completed, the car will park itself. Greetings✌
Yea they said with NAD it can drive in and out and initiate swap autonomously and they’ve tested internally, but not approved for use yet so for now you can’t get out
@@Eric_Garrison i understand 500KW is for 800V systems, since the current Nio batteries run on 400V will they be able to increase charging speeds to 250KW?
The slow charging speed esp. with the 100KWh battery, is a problem in Europe. Very very few swap stations and slowest charging 100KWh battery in the market is not a favorable combination.
im hoping there is an option to have without nomi so i can save some bucks. otherwise if i wanna keep the nomi i wanna have voice selection with celebrity's voice! And Im not a big go go for autonomous drive. Would like to have a choice without it. not willing to pay big bucks on autonomous if i dont use it at all.

if your battery breaks be ready for a $15.000 bill. not with swapping it never goes broke or degrades

Great stuff Eric, just imagine what can be done in the next 3 Gen's Battery Swap Stations 6.0 will be AMAZING! $NIO
Jezus what a cool car @7:10
Artic green 💚
Thank you eric for all your videos.... :)
Wow very nice improvement, the target is to swap batteries in 1 minute like Geely and BAIC's swap station
maybe 5 years later hah, they said their next target is another minute reduction
500 Kw!!! AMAZING!!! Bring them to the US!!!
keep pumping out those NIO videos Eric!!!!
Thanks for the “real world” experience 👍
No worries!
Keep up the good work Eric !👍

Wow impressive thanks for sharing. Go NIO!!!
Thank you Eric
excellent, thanks for the great upload like always!
Thanks bro!
Thanks.
Would be awesome to have them in the US
so NIO can be charged and swaped?
Nio 👍👍👍👍👍
Tnx a lot...
That still amaze me lol

You look good Eric! Didn’t know you can speak Mandarin😂
Thanks. Trying to stay healthy. My mandarin continues to slide into the abyss though... I never use it
Thanks for the video! is this just a demo station? looks like there is no way ou!
it is live now for anyone from what I understand. I think they put 10 stations online on 3.28 all around China
Thanks Eric! I feel your nervous hahaha

Will 500KW charging work with all NIO cars or are only some capable for this. I thought the limitation was with the car?
Correct. Still slow charging. Good for other brands tho
Nio nt2 cars can top out around 120kw charging speed on super chargers. Usually from my experience they pull like 100 ish for most of the charge
80% of power charged by NIO chargers is for other EVs they said

I have 9000 shares in this company, this slow ,
Чё Акции не растут ?
They will. TESLA took years to be profitable NIO will be in less time.
Très bien . Mais nomi doit arrêter de parler autant 🤬

Nio in europe recently announced they are offering their cars without Nomi now. So you are in luck. In china it has always been an option
in some county nomi only available in certain trim level, soy you do have choice.
