That's an interesting comment. Last year I was taking a walk and got iT into my head to see how straight I could walk with my eyes closed. iF you were me trying to run with a blindfold you'd be in a front-end collision with a car in five seconds.
I think this is the only channel I know of where the people in the comments section feel like part of the same family. Peter's extended family. So many regulars, so much love and support for other commenters and for Peter. The thread often brings me as much joy as the video itself, it's packed with wisdom for solving life's problems and genuine affection for Peter himself. I think it stands as evidence as to the nature of our guy and I think it's worth noticing and celebrating all this in a world that feels as divided as this one does currently. Thank you Peter for what you have created here 💗
Speaking as a musician, taking lessons is how people become great. There are definitely those people that are just naturally fantastic at whatever they pursue, whether it's out of passion or they just are good without trying, but taking lessons does not mean you won't or can't be great. In fact you have a much higher chance of becoming great. Also, leaving stuff at a fun hobby level is no crime and might be a much healthier way to approach something that isn't going to become your livelihood. Anyway, keep up the vibes, Peter, I love your videos :)
Hi Peter! Just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge your positive influence in my life. I'm an American living in the southwest of France, which means at the moment, we're locked down for the pandemic, and I can't teach. I teach painting and drawing to adults in two small towns where I live. I recently bought a set of three Isograph pens, and a Waterman Chrome fountain pen. I used to use Rapidographs when I would do urban sketching back in San Francisco. Sadly, when I moved here 10 years ago, the Rapdiographs didn't make the trip with me... So, I'm happy to have these pens again, after such a long time, and I thank you for your inspiration! I haven't started drawing with the fountain pen yet, since my hand feels like it wants to write a letter instead of a drawing, but I've had a stern discussion with my drawing hand, and we've agreed to slowly integrate the Waterman into my drawings. Hopefully we'll establish a peaceful resolution... As always, thank you so much for sharing your life with us. Stay safe, and whatever you do, don't spit into the wind!!! Jim in France
Yes! My throat always hurts and gets weird when the air is (even mildly) cold and it makes running so much worse, but also I prefer to run in the cold, and it's just one of life's great challenges.
It's so weird, I was just thinking about you recently and about how you've been talking about your relationship with your videos lately, and I thought to myself "I wish he could feel comfortable just "drawing" again, just for the joy of it." XD And your very next video is this one, I hope you let yourself draw just for the joy of it more often... that's why we're all (most of us; the ones that matter XD) here in the first place. No need to always song and dance every time. We are here because we like the core of this channel... drawing and you. * *hug* *
Esophagus is the food tube, windpipe is the lungs, I'm a mouth breather as well. I like to use Biotene, keeps your spit from getting sticky! Running with a mask on is really hard to do unless it's a bit more loose weave. I also found out if I suck on a vitamin C drop right before I go out, for some reason it helps, I have no clue why. I like just the drawing and talking without the "pressure" of fitting things in, it's more "organic" and more soothing 👍😁 You. Have. A. TV!?!!??! *GASP!!!!* lol 😅 As long as no one complains, you're fine! 🎵🎶 You're getting close to 1 million subs Peter! 😎 Thank you so much for this video, I like these the best, just my opinion of course 😃🙂
I usually listen to your videos on my way to work. I have an hr drive and I like talking with.....I answer your questions like you are the passenger hahahahaha. You have some really good questions. Keep up the guitar lessons as long as you're having fun.
Peter, I have had this experience. That's why I can't really run outdoors in the cold. However, with regard to side of the street, I have to go with the right side --- that's probably since I also bike. Finally, please wear reflective clothing if you're running at night!
Hey Peter! If you continue to run at night, you should get some reflective/night running gear so it’s easier for cars to see you ahead of time just as you see them ahead of time. Also, I’ve been running for years and have always had similar saliva type problems, best solution that I’ve had or heard from others is just to spit!
Peter!! Your throat will start to hurt while breathing through your mouth because, unlike your nose which gives air you breathe in more moisture and time to warm up on the way to your lungs, the cold air can be drying which causes discomfort! I learned this in a waiting room to a doctor's office👌
The throat pain is caused by the cells in your throat becoming dehydrated. The air going into your lungs is automatically humidified by your cells and the dry, cold air dehydrates the cells quickly. I have this problem and did some cursory research a while back. Drinking frequently might help, there's some running mask kinda things that seem to work too. Love your vids, stay groovy.
Today is my birthday, and my husband got me the Photon Gluon ink set from Colorverse. So cool! He saw it on your video with 10 pens, 10 inks, 10 drawings. We like ALL your vids. Thanks for being such an uplifting presence. 🙋❤️🙂
Havent even watched the video but nice video Edit: im in middle school and do cross country and i have to agree that running at night is more fun and i enjoy it more
YESSS!!!!!! Everytime I open youtube and see there is a new video from you, it brightens my whole day and I stop whatever I am doing to watch!! Total guilty pleasure this channel is :) I am slowly making my way through watching every single one of your videos! It will be a grand feat but toally worth it!
The mask will almost certainly solve your problem in colder weather, colder air doesn’t hold humidity and moisture as well. Thanks for all the videos Peter I get excited every time you upload; to see your awesome art and listen to your thought process
Guitar is all about practice. The muscle memory is what is important. There is a point you reach when you dont have to think about what your hands are doing, then it becomes fun, stick with it. Love ur channel
Great to have your normal voice back :D I think your voice/audio is probably the biggest reason people come back to your channel. Sometimes I actively watch you draw, but most of the time I just listen and occasionally look at the progress in your drawing. So changing up your voice slightly probably has a bigger impact than if you'd really mess with the video colours or something. I like watching you draw, but I really like listening to your calming, uplifting voice. Have a great day Peter
These videos are one of the only places I can get true comfort these days. Just hearing Peter talk like a real, normal person while drawing is so soothing. Thanks for the great content, keep it up ❤️
I have a sound system with a subwoofer on my computer and I love that your voice is bass-y enough to come through the sub. If people don't like the bassiness of your voice it's pretty easy for them to change settings or even just the volume so I personally think you shouldn't stress about it, you can't please everyone. Also I love that you tell us you love us at the end of your videos, it's like getting off the phone with my brother or something, just so comfortable
I loved having found your channel. I have learned so much from your videos. One of my latest works (which I have on my channel) was only possible because I discovered you and let myself be carried away by "doodles" (I mean they are not doodles but almost. It's an abstract scene). Thankful for the good mood and for the inspiration. Greetings from Portugal
Dear Peter, I just wanted to let you know that I wasn't trying to make you feel bad about your voice in that previous video. I was just being silly. I love all of your content and will watch and appreciate anything you release no matter what your voice sounds like :) love, Con
I'm left-handed, and I always thought that would make using fountain pens really hard for me (because, like many lefties, I push the pen more than I pull it when writing and drawing). I was always curious to try them because I think they look great, but the idea of buying a pricier-than-normal pen and special ink when I might not even be able to practically use them put me off. On a recent video, you mentioned that the Kaweco Sport comes packaged with a cartridge, and I was like "oh, duh, of course some pens would come with ink cartridges." That cut it down to just one impulse purchase that might be a waste for me, so I was willing to go ahead and pick up a Kaweco Sport to see if it worked for me. Turns out I was worrying over nothing, I can write fine with it and the feel of writing with it is really good. So thanks for leading me to that realization.
You can go down a serious rabbit hole of runner theory. I am not a runner BUT my dad is a triathlon participant/trainer and my occupation ends up dealing with a lot of runners. Correct breathing is this whole rabbit role of information and training yourself to breath and then the posture while running can affect things. Anyway ... I love a good old fashion draw with Peter draws video. It amazes me how little squiggles and lines turns into this abstract construction that I end up deciding for myself what it is.
Your art and the things you draw are so different from what i am used to and see, as well as what i myself draw, but it's made me realize that one can draw something without it being entirely clear what it is supposed to be, or without needing to lable it as something.
Peter is like an award winning supporting actor, like that cool character in a good movie you wanna see more of. And here we are getting all this content🙌 bless you sir draw a lot
I'm on same boat with ya peter on picking up new hobbies while lockdown started. I recently pickedup digital art, re learning programing after not doing any for 3 years since school. Also been learning my mandolin a hour a day this month even though i missed two days. But still having fun. :)
Just wanted to say I love your videos, normally ill sit and draw while listening to you because your voice is so memorizing!! It's calming really! I would listen to any book if you read it for audible or something lol!! Keep up the amazing work!!
I was sitting here watching you draw while having breakfast. Suddenly I thought to myself "I wonder what he would come up with if he had to draw "Good Omens". I don't know if you've watched it. If not, I recommend it. Your drawings remind me of that show. God knows why.
Some states actually have laws that specify that a pedestrian walking in the roadway must walk in the left lane so they are facing traffic. And you're right Peter, it just makes sense. With regard to salivating while running, yes it is a issue which I remedy with cough drops. Inadvertent mouth-breathers...beware because it could be a choking hazard.
This is your channel, and you can talk about whatever you want to on it. Besides, I enjoy hearing what you want to talk about, as much as I enjoy your drawings. :-) I understand about the running and spit problem...a neck gaiter might help, you could try a bandana scarf at first and graduate up if it seems to help a bit? I agree about running on the left side rather than on the right side, for exactly your reasoning. I have a thing about feeling safe. You stay safe, and thank you for drawing for you and us.
I think that a drawing livestream would be in order because somehow Peter manages to keep the vibes even when he's not talking and just drawing. I could watch him draw in real time for hours while studying, telling myself that I only have the video in the background but actually having all my attention aimed at the video.
Please make more realtime vids, not only are they the most inspirational, it’s much more fun to have the time to guess what you’re drawing next and then be surprised of where your mind goes. Also thank you for two of your inspirational advises. 1. There are no mistakes. If you make a mistake, don’t think you messed it up, but make it part of your pattern and see what happens. 2. If you run out of inspiration and don’t know what to do next: outline it! These two things helped me a lot doodling, trying to implement them in life too. May seem weird, but these two principles help me to live in the moment, not overthink things and just be amazed. About running and walking in traffic: as a small child i was taught to walk inthe opposite direction of traffic and never let them sneak up behind me just in case they don’t see you. So, when cars drive on the right, you walk on the left. I thought that was common knowledge.
@@peter_draws it really helped it slide down hahaha ... also while I have ur attention senpai I'll say thanks for the recommendation of the rendr pad and rotring iso's .... my art is coming in to its own now and like a lot of us here I'm genuinely thankful that you do what you do .
Yo, Pete. Miss ya, man! Was in the hospital (NOT covid), and went through/am going through some wild health stuff....so I've missed so much! Glad to be back, getting stronger, and enjoying YOUR vids! *raises a glass of filtered water* CHEERS, my man!
I've been doodling around much like you and picked up a line of Rotring pens and I'm smitten with the .30. Finding paper that doesn't feather the micro thin lines is so hard though. The higher-end Strathmore has been my best find so far. This is the best stress relief ever. Just throw on some Legendary Pink Dots and just.. draw.
I remember reading somewhere that breathing in through the nose helps to warm the air also. If it's cold enough you should prob. wear a mask because I slept outside winter camping once, and my throat was sore for a while even when I was back in the car and at the house.
I can’t believe you’re almost at 1 million subscribers. I remember when we were still a small community, but I’m so happy you’re growing and more people are seeing the weirdness.
Hey Peter, you're not alone; cold weather does that to me too. Just the other day, I got up from my toasty bed, in my warm room, went outside into the cold air, and my nose started burning (along with the copious mucus from nowhere). It's rather annoying, but it's been happening all my life, so I'm basically used to it now. Anyways, thanks for sharing your arts and your day to day experiences. It's nice to listen to you and get away from my own life sometimes. :3
Hey Peter, I think your throat/mucus problem is probably a histamine issue from the cold air. It effects some people more than others in the same way as pollen or dust would for someone with allergies. Try an over the counter antihistamine medicine and see if it helps.
He is hands down the best channel and I’m so excited about how close the 1 mill milestone is. You deserve it Peter
Omg I agree 100% hands and feet down best channel I watch!!!!!!😆

Yikes. No offense to him but either your bar is incredibly low or you have only seen maybe three other channels.

You can duplicate the sensation of running at night by running during the day with a blindfold on.
Probably the best advice I have ever heard.
That's an interesting comment. Last year I was taking a walk and got iT into my head to see how straight I could walk with my eyes closed. iF you were me trying to run with a blindfold you'd be in a front-end collision with a car in five seconds.

About running and walking in traffic: as a small child i was taught to walk inthe opposite direction of traffic and never let them sneak up behind me just in case they don’t see you. So, when cars drive on the right, you walk on the left. I thought that was common knowledge.
Dude ive been watching you for 6 years thank you for the inspo and the help.
Liking the intro so far
Your voice is very calming btw, I like to watch your videos late at night when I go to bed bc it calms me down
I love eating a sausage McMuffin while having the viscosity of saliva explained to me
Hah you’re welcome
@@peter_draws it really helped it slide down hahaha ... also while I have ur attention senpai I'll say thanks for the recommendation of the rendr pad and rotring iso's .... my art is coming in to its own now and like a lot of us here I'm genuinely thankful that you do what you do .
Yo, Pete.
Miss ya, man!
Was in the hospital (NOT covid), and went through/am going through some wild health stuff....so I've missed so much!
Glad to be back, getting stronger, and enjoying YOUR vids!
*raises a glass of filtered water*
CHEERS, my man!
I walk down the side of the road that has the sun shining on it....
Love that
YOUR VOICE IS SOOTHING! Also you aren't the only with that issue. I get that too!
I miss the hair...just saying
I love your voice. Best thing to listen to just as i am relaxing for bed. You should do bedtime stories! Lol 💖🧡❤😴
I watched an old video of yours and now I'm checking out more of the stuff you do and I feel like you're getting younger and time goes on
Holy cow people comment fast
Incredible art!
I can’t believe you’re almost at 1 million subscribers. I remember when we were still a small community, but I’m so happy you’re growing and more people are seeing the weirdness.
so enjoyable!! love the drawing
Great as always
Hey Peter, I think your throat/mucus problem is probably a histamine issue from the cold air. It effects some people more than others in the same way as pollen or dust would for someone with allergies. Try an over the counter antihistamine medicine and see if it helps.
Best intro ever viewed👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Omg thank you Peter. I needed something to take my mind off of the shit storm thats happening here in the US right now.
I have had a Peter Binge on in the background all week to help keep me calm.
that intro was bloody EPIC
