BIRDING IN UTTAR PRADESH - PART 1

The state of Uttar Pradesh has different geopgraphical areas like Shivalik foot hills and terai in the North, Central plains with river systems like Yamuna and Ganga with their tributaries and on south the Vindhyan hills. All these help in rich forests, grasslands, wetlands, hills and mountains with different habitats.These help in bird diversity of the state. The network of wetlands help in migrating birds in winter with suitable habitat. There are about 550 birds in UP which includes both migratory and resident birds. I could watch 50 percent of them during my stay in UP.
