Reminds me of trips to the beach in my 57 Chevy! The smell of hot vinyl and Grass Roots blaring from the 8-track! I just wish I had Susanna next to me in those memories! Great cover ladies, you still rock.
Girl drummer, 2 chicks with Rickenbackers, tight harmonies, set list on the floor (buy the mike), 60s tune, What's not 2 Luv? Rob Grill and Lou Adler would be proud of your performance. Great Job!!
The Bangles never stop "delivering" their signature song "Where Were You When I Needed You" in this May 27, 2009 VIDEO CLIP. Susanna Huffs takes a back seat to no one in the history of rock performers. F A B U L O U S ! ! !
awesome, i saw and met them in Boston at the Wilbur theater,Oct 2011, they didn't play this song i was bummed, it is awesome, i love you guys, God Bless & Peace Rick
RICK D JACKSON I know. I saw them around the same time and they didn't sing it either. I only half expected it because even though it was on their greatest hits CD it wasn't really a hit for them.
Always loved the way they covered this one....damn! BTW, Susanna's two "Under the Covers" records with Matthew Sweet are simply wonderful. Suzi's version of "Different Drum" on Vol. 1 is amazing and Sid's (Matthew) vocals on "All the Young Dudes" (Vol. 2) is better than Mott the Hoople or Bowie.
I first heard their cover of "Where Were You..." in the mid '80s, and I loved it - up there with anything they did. And this is a decent performance... But for the love of God, Susanna, the last chord in the chorus (Where.....?) is a V, not a I!
Love me SOME (well, ALL of the) Bangles. I do not think they should discuss their private lives with the likes of me (or the rest of you perverts) BUT, it would be fascinating and undoubtedly funny and embarrassing as heck (for the ladies not me) to find out what the young sons and daughters of these very hot mothers thought about their songs and performances. I am LMAO. I can just imagine their sixth grade children stomping up to their mothers, hands on hips, yelling, "Every guy in my class, AND THE MEN TEACHERS, have all seen the Stacy's Mom video and THEY ARE ALL FANTASIZING ABOUT YOU, and she couldn't even sing! Stop it! I'll never have any real friends. They're all just trying to meet you. And make sure Dad mows the lawn, not some neighborhood kid."
Hazy Shade of Winter, You Were On My Mind and now this... impeccable taste in covers.
Grass Roots fan here. First time I'm hearing this.... love it...especially the harmonies.....
One of their finest harmonies in a band with legendary harmonies.
Here's the original studio version.

If you ever listen to their greatest hits album you'll know why The Bangles were so special such an unique group of beautiful ladies

@gmartinz01 I agree - I've had chance to see the Bangles in 2005 and then on May 2/10 and Susanna's pitch and voice is really excellent!!
J'adore cette chanson

Do you have any more clips? Saw them in NYC a couple weeks ago amazing setlist and they sounded great, thanks for posting!
I like the The Bangles and love Susana Hoffs, but they can't touch the Grass Roots on this one.
Yup....and nope.
Don't know if I'd call it their "signature song", but a fine performance nonetheless.
Right their signature song is walk like an Egyptian
Susanna Hoffs is so Hotttt!
P.F Sloan not the grassroots. RIP Phil
who is on bass? come back michael!
Are you going to play again Bangles?
It's not the Bangles without Michael Steele.
Well, I'm familiar with the tune but I am not aware of any version I prefer to this. It is just sensational.
It was originally done by The Grassroots.
It was indeed, my era, but I do think this version is better . Just my opinion
C+
It's good but the grassroots is better
Без Мики Стил уже всё не то....
