Behind The Recording of AC/DC's Highway To Hell!

- Released in 1979, highway to Hell was AC/DC's big commercial breakthrough. Despite having success gaining a loyal fanbase through constant touring, often playing multiple shows a day, they hadn’t quite cracked it on an international scale. This would all change with release of Highway To Hell with the band finally cracking the US Billboard top 100.

Who?
Got your Storm Replica, and love it man!!
I always loved the way the Drums sit in the mix .
AC/DC . The Albert's pushed the band to record with overseas producers. I watched ACDC 1976 in Adelaide. Bon with Angus on his shoulders. Bon had the strut. Women loved him and men respected Bons intelligence and humour (front bar Aussie culture).
One can never forget when one first listened to this album on Vinyl, just like Black in Black !
Does someone always have to bring up back in black when discussing highway to hell. Can we just focus on Bon, highway to hell and before.. then treat back in black and beyond on its own. Thank you. Remember, anything in the future when discussing the past makes no sense.
Grew up on the music and Cut my guitar playing teeth with these early albums … still some of my favorites and a groove that can’t be beat
Awesome! Make one with “Let there be rock” 🤘🏼
Master piece!
An ACDC record with piano on it? Absolute sacrilege, I can't even imagine that. No wonder they sacked Kramer.
Nice, now please do one about For Those About To Rock 🙏
Make a Powerage one!!
I’d love to! I’ll be looking into it..
I really look forward to your videos every Friday! Thanks

All I know is when it dropped, there wasn't anyone I knew that wasn't spinning it constantly...thx for the vid.

I was born and raised in So Cal and was 16 when this came out. Not one bad song on there and *If you want blood* lol (you got it!) just epiC!!
Every album Bon sang on………and not ONE bad song. Says alot bout Bon.
Another great vid mate 👏
Thank you 🙏
That’s funny. When I first got a Nady wireless is the 90’s I noticed it sounded nicely compressed. Go figure.
Fantastic video content. In fact HTH was a game changer in rock world.
Cheers, it certainly was!
Excellent THANK YOU 💥❤💥
Thank you! 😃
Muy bueno! Gracias
Gracias!
I maintain despite fil correcting me that the marshall will be crunching a little and the schaefer tips it into more crunch
5:04 Not a 1971 Marshall Super Bass on the photo. The rocker switches and piping suggests 1976 or later.
missed the potent ‘Led Zepplin’ tag when you hang on the shot of Page. Intentional?
@1:50 check out rudolph - COKE NOSE
Someone tell Glenn Fricker about the mic bleed thing.
The black flag marshall
As a 16 year old ACDC fan when Bon Scott passed away I remember why Back in Black was such a success. Everyone was saying Brian Johnson sounded just like Bon Scott. So everyone bought that album. But to our dismay, he didn't sound anything like Bon Scott. Just a screamer. As the record sales of next albums proved. Brian Johnson sucked. To this day the only singer that sounded like Bon Scott was Axle Rose of all people. I was always a fan of Angus Young but not enough to buy another album because I couldn't stand the screaming front man.
Make a MOTORHEAD episode! You'd rule
Cheers, I'll be looking into it!
