i have the exact same snare wires on my 5x14 ludwig LB416 and it just brings out the wonder woody tone from the 'black beauty'. I am very keen on selling my pearl jimmy degrasso to buy a ludwig 400 or 402.. perhaps i should be more adventurous and buy the 6.5 inch deep!
