I honestly can't even bring myself to watch the final season, just hate it when showrunners and scriptwriters absolutely ruin a character I love by coming up with storylines that make no sense for that character - for me that is just a total no go. :/

For someone who is wildly expressive in real life, Clarke is amazingly subtle in this role. I think it's a brilliant performance. And speaking of eyebrows, watch the effect of lowering one a quarter inch at 6:13.
She is the best, even better than John. What's great about her character is that she can empathize with the common people, she has been sold by her brother, she has been exploited physically and mentally at a youngage, she has lived a beggers' life, she has known hunger, she has known humility and rejection, she has known death. All who say that John, Tyrion, Sansa or others who have more right to sit kn the Iron Throne just compare.

Despite the lasts seasons, I truly believe she is the best and most tragic female character ever written. I wish she had stayed in Essos to rule with peace and prosperity, surrounded by her dragons and the people that always loved and supported her. I don't think she would do that. I blame the writers for King's Landing burning, not Daenerys. It also makes no sense. She is had on her enemies but cares for the innocent, so does anyone believe she would let Cersei escape because she would supposedly rather burn civilians? Really?

You know, she really did her best. Her family raised her as an object to be used for the sake of her brother. She didn’t have courage or pride before Khal Drogo. She wasn’t treated kindly but she tried to be kind the best way she could. The witch betrayed her kindness but she still tried -she tried and tried until life’s cruelty made her realise that kindness caused her more pain and more deaths. She ended up alone, her most trusted and most beloved dead. She wasn’t mad, she was grieving. And despite her grief, she desired to give the world Peace. Her methods became cruel but it was what brought peace to the seven kingdoms, without her they would all still be under House Lannister’s rule. She accomplished what others could not accomplish.

correction, she was right when she said she never sacrificed "her" people, key word hers. And so what, all she saw was slave and master, good and evil. So she thought what she did was right, and if you have ever read the books, some of the masters had done insidious things to there slaves, some were even nicked named by there cruel methods. So she wasn't completely unjustfied. Please dont be ignorant. The very fact that she pretended not to understand what was being said to her is brilliant in it's self. She won 8 thousands of the world most deadlist soiders because of her quick thinking. The only down part about her is that none of her family is still around to teach her about her dragons. Now if your going to go in on her please back it up with fact and clues. She started out with nothing. That in its self is something no other ruler in this show can claim. Her own brother sold her to what some would call savages. She was raped, lost an unborn child and a husband(by mercy kill) all in the same day, ( some if not most of use would be foaming at the mouth rocking in some corner, of we had to go through that) and still managed to pull herself together and birth three dagons into the world. (Something that even some of her family had failed to do.) I like when Tyrion says to Jon she may not wield a sword, but she protect people from monster everyday. Slavery, in that world and this world is a big monster. She is trying to fight it, something no one else has tried to do. Maybe because she knows want it means not to have a choice. Yes she has killed people, what ruler hasn't? It actually in the job description. No matter how good a ruler is, human nature will aways requires a ruler who is as merciful and they are unforgiving. She is doing the best she can, but she has a small pool of people willing to teach her and able to be trusted. Point is I scoff everytime I here anyone compair her acts of cruelty with Cercei, because it is clearly NOT the same, there motives are clearly NOT the same. In the grand scheme of things deanarys could dominate her side of the world and let the white walkers eat there way through the seven intell they come begging to her for her help. Which is what I wish she would have done. All she needs is some good teachers and she'd be set, if she found a copy of the Art of War, no one would stand a chance.

First, he's still a bastard, from a relationship that wasn't official. Rhaegar and Lyanna didn't marry since it wasn't allowed more than one marriage unless death separate them. Rhaegar's wife was Ellia Martell.
Second, if there is someone who has some right to be the ruler of Westeros is Gendry, because he was the bastard son of the King. Dinasty. Remember that my beloved Targaryens lost the war, so they lost their right...
Third, there is also the right of Conquest, like the Targaryen did 300 years ago. Aegon the Conqueror, Rhaenys and Visenya conquered 6 of the 7 kingdoms and united them.
So no, Jon Snow is not more legitimate to be sit there than the rest... and if Daenerys conquers it with the right supports (she has the Greyjoy, Tyrell and Martell by her side so far) then she will be the one with right to sit on the Iron Throne.
It's quite easy, like our own world for centuries.

So it's a possibility that Rhaegar and Lyanna were married and Jon could be the rightful heir. Also remember that Kingsguard only guard members of the royal family. When Jon was born two Kingsguard were there. That means that Jon is not only a Targaryen bu in all likelihood a Prince. Feudal Rights of succession means males inherit before women. So get off your high horse.

I know you've made a continuation to this with another Daenery's video which I also loved and although how I wished some of the scenes/clips were aired earlier so it could've been included in this MV but still very captivating nonetheless! Back, what do you mean by back. She has no right to it anymore. It was taken by right of conquest by the Targaryens, and was taken again by right of conquest by the Baratheons. She is good character, good conqueror. Just not a good ruler.
@@Mini-Toast_ I like the title you gave yourself-how long ago did you do it. Also I'll say, in the show at least, she tries to be a responsible ruler. So I'll give her good ruler credit or at least potential if she was given time.
pplr1 If your genuinely asking you can look at my comments and realize I was disillusioned with D and D predating the final season. And it isn't a matter of potential. It can't be a matter of "if circumstances were different she would have stayed a good ruler." All that speak for anyone, are there actions. She made the decisions she did. She killed an entire population, many who were completely innocent people. Those were her actions. That was what she left on the world. And honestly if her genocide was taken from the books, I won't complain. I know there is solid groundwork in Martin's narrative that can lead to a believable 'Mad queen' resolution. Which is funny because she is a far more caring person in the books.
Is you think the writing is solid, you have to stand by what the character did. If you think the writing was not solid, than you have to accept that it hasn't been solid for years now.
@@Mini-Toast_ Thanks for answering-I didn't know how long you have been disillusioned with D and D. There were problems with earlier seasons but to me season 8 is in a special category of bad. I'll call bs on the show having Dany burn King's Landing.
If you judge a character, or more accurately try to get a sense of a character, by that character's actions there is no explanation for that based on her prior actions. There is evidence against the notion she would burn a whole city after it surrendered-purely using her prior actions.
I can believe GRRM will have her burn the city in his books because he has laid out details of the book version of her character that portray it to be a realistic possibility but the show has not-the "foreshadowing" isn't really there and while the talk of her family line having madness in it has very much been in the show the prospect her character was mad is disproven in the show and even denied by the show runners as they stated she wasn't "insane", nor a "sadist", nor "her father"-in show she is arguably the character most able to face her family's history (which makes her desire to be different that much more relevant).
In addition to her actions in seasons 1-7 showing she isn't actually likely to burn King's Landing I'll point out the nonsense of her supposedly giving Cersei time to escape when she has a grudge against Cersei in order to burn random peasants she has little reason to have a grudge against and-if in character-would have some sympathies for the plight of.
pplr1 You should check out the Dragon Demands. He actually figured out why the writing was phenomenally abhorrent. He had been saying, prior to season 7, that the show had no where to go. D and D had become so obsessed with giving their actors juicy material to act out, they ignored whether it made narrative sense for their characters. Just check out his videos on why changes were made from book to television. They are fairly long videos, but thorough. Videos on Stannis, Littlefinger and Cersei. On why Dorne was so bad. I feel like you would enjoy it. It is cathartic.

Unpopular opinion: I love that they showed her character from a different perspective in the last couple of episodes of the show. She has always been a conqueror - we’ve just always had the privilege of seeing her victims from a certain perspective. Unfortunately her development was unconvincing and executed extremely poorly because it was rushed but I can 100% believe that this entire journey, the loss of all her loved ones, her stubbornness, etc....would have changed her in the end.
I still love her character. She’s one of the most beautifully tragic characters I’ve ever come across on any show.

This is a great video - beautifully done and you can tell a lot of work, effort and thoughts were put into it. What I love the most is that you've managed to showcase each side of her - the ruthless Targaryen side of her, the badassery we enjoy, but you've also shown the softer side, the vulnerable side, her evolution from a lost, vulnerable young woman to someone who's found her power, lost her way, made her mistakes, yet in the end is struggling to do the right thing in a world that is wrong on so many levels.
You've shown us how she may become the mad queen (burning the slave masters before their guilt was proven, "Turn us away and we will burn you first" "I swear to you that those who would harm you will die screaming" etc.) but also how she may very well NOT become the mad queen (several scenes where she doubts herself and willingly takes advice, which her father or even Viserys would never have done).
The fact that you showed her flaws and not just her coolest moments really sets this video aside from many other Dany-centric videos. You used the music well, as well as the VOs - again, you didn't just use the voices overs to show her goosebump-inducing speeches, but also her other sides. I loved the fact that you used Daario's "kings are butchers" line to transition into the "Dracarys" and more "ruthless" scenes.
She had a gentle heart, cercei pushed her to the edge and no one stands when they are pushed to the edge. Love you Danny.
