    I remember these well. Where I grew up in the 80s and 90s these were everywhere. My grandmother had one, my neighbor had one, etc... you had one of these back in the day you were it!!

    It is like walking inside a luxury hotel. The design and the dash board are so great that it look very grand. Such awesome built. Shame on todays designers who dont know anything about being grand and majestic. This car is colossus and respectful. It was a heck of colonial taste. I have never seen anything more satisfying than this.Thank you for sharing the video.

    The overhead console with the lights and storage is a Chrysler add-on. No AMC Grand Wagoneers ever shipped from the factory with the overhead console.

      They were added in '89 and were on all through the final '91 model.

    That one looks clean! Chrysler didn't change the grill FYI
    Chrysler grands 89-91 had the overhead console and rear wiper
    AMC 360 in these years was 145hp no 250 lbft of torque with aftermarket efi and upgraded ignition and exhaust they make about 250hp 310 ft lbs cheers

    • @jeepsblackpowderandlights4305
      @jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 3 года назад

      They did change the grill. The final edition grill was only on the chrysler years, and they had 145hp and 280ft lbs of torque not 250. The 89-91 years also got more sound deadning, a upgraded a/c compressor, bigger alternator at 90AMP, the grill, the console over head, the wiper, a smaller better starter which also changed the oil pan design so older 360 oil pans wont bolt up properly. The later dana 44's also were simplified inside where the outer and inner wheel bearings were

      @@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 Umm that grill came on the 86 and up for sure the other stuff I’m not sure where you got that info but ok👍🏻

    • @CoastalAutoReactionCAR
      @CoastalAutoReactionCAR 3 года назад

      Chrysler added a hood emblem if that’s what you mean? Also used a bit better plastic and stuck a final edition emblem on the dash of the 91’s. Let me guess you also think there were only like 1500 91’s right lol. Cheers man

      @@CoastalAutoReactionCAR well i might have been off a year as they bought em in 87 .. regardless all the other upgrades i mentioned were chrysler so stick that thumb up in your mouth.

      @@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 Um relax man it’s just an old Jeep and tbh I just looked at my old sales brochures that grill appeared in 84 actually which was the first year of the Grand wagoneer and most definitely still AMC before 84 they were Wagoneer limited’s. I do not know where you got the other info I am just going on facts I know from print not what the internet says. No need to get upset or triggered my friend it’s all good👍🏻Cheers stay safe!

    Thanks - I owned 2...1983 Dk Blue with tan interior. 1989 Tan with Tan interior - bought it used in 1992...kept till around 2005. MY FAVORITE vehicles ever - and I've owned a LOT of nice cars (7 seriesBMWs, vetts, 80K conversion van currently,). NOTHING compared to the Wagoneer!! - NOTHING!! I will probably splurge in a few years and get another one - probably from Wagonmaster. ENJOY - I am envious!

    Does it still have the light steering feel of some of the older classic overboosted full size cars with power steering? I may be alone but I love that feel. But its not a requirement

    I have had my 1990 Grand Wagoneer since 1994 and haven't had anything else. Daily driver. In order to take care of this vehicle you must be willing to invest time in taking care of it such as wrenching and understanding oldschool mechanics. There is no computer diagnostic garb.You are the computer. Patience and understanding a big plus. After 1991 all that followed this is plastic.

    Obviously I wouldn't put total faith into it but Forza reckons the Wagoneer has 144 Horsepower and 280 LB-FT of Torque

      All you should have to do is flip the switch under the dash from 2WD to 4WD and wait a few seconds for it to engage.

      @@CoastalAutoReactionCAR I am also confused on how the 4x4 system works. I understand it's selec trac. Does this mean you can switch from 2wd to 4wd on dash for 4wd fulltime use for highway driving (we live in Bailey, CO) and i 285 can get dicey sometimes but don't want to be in 2wd/rear wheel drive in case of changing/varied conditions occasionally. Thanks!
