i would not call the ride plush with old leafs. i have one and with the 36 year old leafs it is not plush, bought new ones, stock height, and it is better, but not plush. for plush you need linked and soft coils..
@@BigTireGarage I wish mine was a marshmallow :) I did a front shackle flip, this lifted it 2,5 inches on the original leafs and switched to bilstein shocks, and now it is finally comfy and not bouncy.
@@BigTireGarage depends...the grand wagoneer was about equal in "luxury" as the burban at the time. Think the biggest difference was the grand wagoneer had leather and power seats...other than that, not much else, aside from capability. Jeep was marginally better off road, the burban could tow.
This phrase gets overused, but is truly applicable in this case. These were in a class of their own.
rode in the back seat of 64,73... owned a 1988 grand wagoner , love to have another , the new one is only a name
Even with this video, people still fail to realize how this was the first luxury and first suv ever.
Truth
I HAVE HAD TWO OF THEN..
SHOULD NEVER Have kept one😢
Great video, but one correction - the final series Grand Wagoneers had an NP229 transfer case not the NP208 that was in earlier models.
Of course you would know that! LOL
Whoa that's not quite right, the Willys wagon was way earlier 😊
Those seats could use some help though

Dude.....that thing rode like a marshmallow
@@BigTireGarage I ordered new shocks, that must be the culprit with mine.

The "ORIGINAL" suv is the suburban.
Longest production ever for 1 model.
I would say the Suburban was not a luxury SUV

The suburban came out later and first versions weren’t for civilian use. The Jeep “Station Wagon” was the first SUV for civilian use in 1945.
That would be the Beetle
uh no..
