well let's see here ,first thanks for watching the shows and glad you have posted a comment ,the summer time fishing on fontana can be pretty tough ,usually you can catch the bass close to the banks back in the creeks,by using spinner baits, soft baits such as the flukes, plastic worms ,swim baits ,and you can also catch them jigging ice jigs, cranks baits should work when they are suspended, and feeding .I have found early morning use the crank bait ,then fish points using a jerk bait.Good Luck ..
when fishing on fontana you will have to do a count down and let the bait fall then start your reeling ,sometimes you have to search for them but in the right place you should be able to catchem ,plastic grubs work well also because they will sink and get down to the fish ,that is the key let the bait get down deep enough..oh yea use the umbrella rig and let it sink a bit then start realing and hang on...the small mouth like the rock ledges but are usually 20 ft.deep..hope this is helpful.......
well thanks for watching and commenting .we were fishing spots that you normally catch walleyes, yes they were some brush piles we were fishing over ,but mostly looking for big schools of walleyes at certain depts.yes the catfish was a big flat head ,usually you can catch blue channel cats ..I had a-lot of fun on that trip ,and think dad did also ,can't wait til i go bavk..thanks for watching ..have a Blessed day..
Joey , me and a friend are planning on coming to Fontana and walleye fishing in September. Question is the walleye fishing any good up around the dam that time of year ? Thanks
well if the fish are deep i would start jigging with ice jigs ,but you just have to try different lures ,the alabama rig is a good rig to use on those rock ledges ,just let it sink 15 -20 feet deep then start reeling, colors , i like anything white ,yellow silver ,black ....
hey i got mountain house just near there recntly i been there twice and only had bass look at my crankbiats what should i use in summer to get them to bite
i got house in robinsville but what exact lures use when fishing the deep rock going stright down on shore line?i used crank like said just got looks and what size spoon adn what plastics to use
Great fishing! Nice shot of the doe swimming across to the other side. Were you searching for ledges or drop offs or brushpiles? That catfish was a dandy; was it a flathead? Best wishes.
