Actually, the real first step that both that Jay and this Jay use is DRIVE A LONG WAY TO A LAKE FULL OF WALLEYES WITH NO OTHER BOATS😉
Then that ol 1-2 punch works GREAT!
Cheers!
My father and I just got back from an unsuccessful night of Walleye trolling on the St. Lawrence near Kingston.... so funny seeing you upload THIS video as we walk in unsuccessful🤣 keep up the hard work thanks for all the tips🇨🇦
Jay has one of the quickest hook sets I’ve seen in a long while. 💪
easy when you're watching the bite on livescope
Great tips! Yes to wearing the life jacket! Always wear mine since flipping a boat and it saved my life! Keep up the great videos and best of luck to you and Sam with becoming parents.
how did it save your life
Good work. Nice to see respect for the water and the fish!! I learned a lot thank you!!
Great video as always Jay! Really enjoy watching them, you explain everything so well it makes it easy to understand. Keep up the great work!
Love you left the tripping over the tackle box clip in. My kind of people!
The last couple years I’ve tried and learned new for me types of fishing. Crank baits. I gotta say the dropshot technique is a great tool. I am so looking forward to using it in all my fave spots.
Always good to see fisherman who know how to fish making videos :) ...so many do not.
can you tell me where to find one?
thanks for the great video jay. always looking forward to them. great tips as well very informative
What a great evening! Thanks for bringing “us” along!
UNREAL information Jay! Loved the video!
Another great one Jay thank you! Good tips and advice for lunch!
Goes to the states, comes back with a mullet and the US flag the arm lol. Happy first fathers day! Another great vid.
I agree those Berkeley gulp just work. They need to fix their containers as I find they always leak. I actually switch it to a different container. Awesome job Jay. And yes, I always wear my life jacket. No matter how hot.
Agreed
Hey Jay Just wanna say congratulations on ur baby! Cant wait to see Matthew in future videos!
Just a kickass and very informative video. Please do more helpful videos like this. Thanks
That was one heck of a save when you caught the flopping fish! 😂 Great content, love to see it! 👍🏼
Alway a Great Saturday when Jay posts a video!
Thanks for the fishing tips!
Great vid. Thanks for sharing the knowledge
I usually wait until I hit bottom before closing the bail. When you close it, no more line can be let out so the lure is falling towards you while it's sinking to bottom. When you leave the bail open, the line is able to let out so the lure will sink more directly down to bottom which will give you more room to work it, even if just a little.
What happens if they bite it on the fall and the bail is open? Wont you miss the opportunity?
Depends on how hard they bite
@jckss121 you might see the Line pull unnaturally
I was using the 360 gt searchbait in a 3 1/2”last summer for the walleye in shallow water. It worked great and got a few Master Angler Pike too
for sure, the technique works, white is a good color for walleye, too. good vid
Enjoyed watching you catch those eyes. I did the same thing as you the other night when I got broke off on my last cast. It's a wrap.
Thanks, Jay. Picked up an Onyx (and wear it)--comfortable as can be.
Great video. Heading to Crystal Beach Resort in Atikokan Ontario this Friday. Missed going for the past 3 years!
Great video Jay!
Happy First Father’s Day to you Jay
Good fishing man , I love the lake of the wood where I all way went to lodge call laughing water park and fish 8 mile of lake it brings you back ever year !
Lets go Jay!! Love from Montreal
I will have to try that drop shot method. My issue is tying the knot for connecting lines and hooks together. I will research and hope to get better. Great save on the fish. Handle with care and the fishery will always be there.
We need Catch and Cook back in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield's Canadian Tire!! Hahaha!
Great video, awesome footage as always!!
Bro… u put me on to walleye fishing!! And I’m great full!! I watch u and ya lady slap thicc fish and it made me wanna do Walter fishing .. thank u man! I’m a bass tournament guy.. but walleye are so nice wen it’s not happening!! Love and respect man! From MN!
Fellow MN bass fisherman going walleye fishing for first time tomorrow on Mille Lacs 👋
Good catch.
Wish i had seen this the other day! We just left Perch Bay and were really struggling to get walleye on the rental boat w/o a fish finder. Managed to get some off the main dock on minnows but a bit of a guess and hope vs having a plan in place.
Hey Jay Happy Father's Day, great video,
Jay is the best!!!
Thank you!!!
Gr8 show thanks for sharing!
First comment! Love your channel bro! Wish all you the best in life. Would love to fish with you once
@jay siemens I really like your videos ! good job keep them coming ! :)
Al Lindner the walleye expert
Them hooksets jay🔥🥵👌🏻
Great tips! Water level still highest since 1950 - Bummer.
Good stuff man
Thanks
Love these vids jay 🤘🏻! Good recovery btw 😂
Btw “that is the right flavor” should be TM
Fish finders do really help for finding those Walleye For sure
7:09 the way you released it 😇😇😇😇😇👍👍👍👍!!!
Jay giving away all my secrets again geez lol
Good info
Just got back from Eagle Lake, wish I would have seen this before I went!
These gulp minnows are great I drift them for trout
Make life jackets cool! yes!
What a great video
Thanks!
Walleye are the only fish I really livebait fish for, love dropshotting leeches for them...fun by catch when bass fishing tho
Great info and techniques. My plastics are old and grimey, lol, but I hate to through them away. I'm not a big safety guy :)) but those life jackets are pretty out of the way, and probably better than dying suddenly in a stupid accident. Can happen to anyone.
Nice vid 🤟😎
Hey Jay! Another great video, you ever fish in Quebec? If you you have the time and would like to coordinate fishing Lake Kipawa, let me know - lots of fish and we have lots of laughs on the water too. Take care and thanks for the excellent videos and content.
NRX is still an amazing rod and being in Canada, I envy you.
yess
Caught one North West Georgia (Rocky mountain project) while throwing spinnerbait near schooling bait fish .It was with a school of bass near a drop off.
Haha. What a save!
Al Martin: What knot do you use to tie your hook for a drop shot rig ? Palomar, etc. ??
Jay great video but I wish you would’ve demonstrated how to catch them without electronics.
Almost looks like you're going for that llama look with that long hair😎🤙
Any tips on lake nippising walleye.
Nice
I have never used a drop shot technique, but I have used a high low perch rig from Domka Outdoors. Isn’t it essentially the same thing as dropshotting? If yes, then why not use two hooks and baits at two different depths on the same drop shot rig?
And is it okay to use a live minnow or crawler on a drop shot rig?
What hook size would be best to potentially catch both perch and walleye on a drop shot rig?
I'll be up in your neck of the woods 2nd week of July; fishing with my 2 sons. What color scheme are you using with Gulp! Alive Minnow? Appreciate your videos
Great video Jay!
How do you have your livescope hooked up to the boat? Not sure if you already have a video out or not but I would certainly be interested in knowing how you rig it for open water.
Cheers

Yup finally nice to hear trolling is boring from a popular RUclipsr
jay would u ever try a lake in my region i would like to see if u could spot some walleye alot and stuff u look really good and it would be a nice video going away from ur town
Jay what’s your go to reel if you could only have one for multi species ?
Those are some wicked looking sunglasses! Does anyone know what brand and model they are?
New sub! Liked ✌️🙏👍
By any chance would 15lb braid and 20lb leader work? I got allt of pike in our lakes around here.
Like the life jacket comment. I was ejected from a boat in a collision on the river, and the pdf did its job.
hi Jay, keep up the good work! Can you please answer this one. You only drop shot when you have found the fish right? thanks
Typically, or if it’s an area I’ve found fish historically.
All I use is leeches when I'm fishing walleye. Found a spot in our lake that comes up to 4ft and down the side it drops to 22ft. I've caught back to back 30 inch walleye in same drop off
Hush lake lol
Hey Jay, could you drop a link on where I can get one of those bump boards you guys use? They look pretty slick!
Muskie Bumper
Hey jay is was wondering if you would do a MAGS custom rods review video I’m thinking of buying a few but would like to know if they are worth it.
Hey! I've never used a MAGS rod, heard they are great though!
Hello Jay,
Can you please teach me again your drop shot method, so you using 12 pound flouro carbon 3 foot leader, sinker on the bottom and 3 inch gulp with size 6 hook. I have a question. Size 6 hook is very small, should I use size 4? Can you please tell me how many inches is your size 6 hook on drop shot?
Thank you, and I will appreciate your effort to answer.
8:42 is the best part. ;)
Love your work brother! What camera set up do you have?
Linked in description
What I use
Small pink jig
Minnow salted
And I get it to the bottom and reel and let it sit and boom fish
Kudos2u!
i espesh appreciated the realistic blending of both you smooth AND you 'rough' moves as you fished here, instead of editing out any/every snafu... i don't care who we might think we are... ain't nobody perfect, PLUS finding our taget species doesn't AUTOMATICALLY make 'em active & catchable, right?
Don't get the big head and ruin the way folks might perceive you. and you'll be most effective.
So. WTG!

Don't get the 'big head' and ruin the way folks might perceive your personality. Makes your style much more effective.

As a lifelong angler and big walleye fan...it's been my experience at times they can be very finiky cautious biters.a bass or northern will waste no time if they see an easy lunch swimming by not walleye necessarily.i guess you could say they're smart.thats something.good luck to all fishermen.
those look yummy
Maybe I missed it but I'd love to know how you prefer to tie the hook for your drop shots.
Hey,linked a video in description where I go over the rigging
@@JaySiemens Thanks Jay. As they used to say, Reading is FUNdamental...
10:35 beautifull 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍!!!!
#makelifejacketscool
Couldn’t of said it better. 🤙
How is Sam?
i completly lost my shit and laughed out so loud my gf asked me wtf i was doing when the fish jumped at 8:38 xD
@8:37 Jay Siemens asks, "Have you hugged your walleye today?"
Let’s goo
What rod is that?
If you know you know
Around the 8:35 mark is why I think Jay is going to be a good dad.
Hey Jay, just curious why go from 10lb main line to 12lb lead?
The 12 lb braid is probably closer in reality to 18, so the leader will still probably break before the main line. Just the way it is.
@@williamkrejca4641 thanks for the answer, I didn’t even think of that I always used the same test or a pound or two lighter test
I wish that class of walleye was common where I live. It seems like 14" to 17" is about standard.
Love you Jay but you always leave out step 1 in your videos! Step 1….live in Canada!
