Actually, the real first step that both that Jay and this Jay use is DRIVE A LONG WAY TO A LAKE FULL OF WALLEYES WITH NO OTHER BOATS😉
Then that ol 1-2 punch works GREAT!

I usually wait until I hit bottom before closing the bail. When you close it, no more line can be let out so the lure is falling towards you while it's sinking to bottom. When you leave the bail open, the line is able to let out so the lure will sink more directly down to bottom which will give you more room to work it, even if just a little.

I have never used a drop shot technique, but I have used a high low perch rig from Domka Outdoors. Isn’t it essentially the same thing as dropshotting? If yes, then why not use two hooks and baits at two different depths on the same drop shot rig?
And is it okay to use a live minnow or crawler on a drop shot rig?
What hook size would be best to potentially catch both perch and walleye on a drop shot rig?
