So many years on and a few things remain the same... GLOCK's are still reliable and HICKOCK 45 is still a national treasure.
Aka Glock hasn't innovated since 1982
Amen insanity!trigger needs improvement
@UCFOr9CCszbsOr-vieDHkfTQif it aint broke, dont fix it
@@garydowns7425 I agree, for starters ship metal sights standard. Enough of the BS plastic sights. Then have the performance trigger standard. After that maybe make OEM 15 round magazines for the Glock 43x. Glock is losing to the SIG P365 XMacro in that area.
@@waholoopesorry74 There are many comparable alternatives with metal sights that are cheaper than Glock (SIG P320 C, SAR9 C, CZ P10-C) so your argument is invalid. And for your argument regarding a “lighter trigger” I believe that is preference, but a trigger doesn’t have to be light for it to be objectively better. Glock stock triggers are infamously mushy and don’t exactly have the cleanest wall, break, or reset. However, the stock trigger does the job and it does it well, in no way does that mean the trigger is bad, Glock just doesn’t have the best stock trigger out there. I carry a Glock so I’m not a Glock hater, don’t get me wrong. I’m just telling you how it is.
In the dictionary, Hickok45 is defined as "A national treasure".
"Let's start out smoking some pot." "In a cloud of dust".
This man speaks to my heart... and lungs.
Id Love to smoke pot with Mr Hickok 😂
I had a G17 back in the 80's A Gen None. I carried it every day at work. It always worked and never failed me.
You won many gun fights with it? 😊
Cool story boomer.
@@moose9410Yeesh guys, lighten up.
@@moose9410Why the hate ?
You have to be a numerologist to be a Glock guy.
😂🤣
Lmao
It is just patent number 47. Like first glock is patent number 17
Dude you makin time portals over here?
For some reason i cant write a comment, so i will use yours. Goddamn mate a glock for you is the equivalent of a water pistol lol
You were one of two folks that convinced me to try a Glock. I’ve been a 1911 man for decades. But it was getting a little “heavy” for concealed carry, and limited ammo in my advanced years. My friend, a Glock guru, brought several to my house to try out. I fell in love with a Glock 45. It has a Holosun red dot optic. The grip angle, after years with a 1911 was foreign to my natural grip. And the optic was as well. BUT, after several hundred rounds and thousands of rounds of dry fire, I’m comfortably accurate. YOU SIR, caused many hours of automatic flinching with your continual dry firing!!!! As I’m your senior by several years. I was taught to NEVER dry fire any weapon!! (I still won’t dry fire a rim fire) But after watching you, and with insistence from my “guru”, it has improved my accuracy. I do truly enjoy your videos and never fail to learn. Keep up the great work, Sir!!!
You should get a glock 21. I absolutely love it, and shoot it better than 1911. Even shoot it better than my 9mm glocks.
@@JP24Michagreed, between the two I'd pick the 21 all day long.
Glocks suck go back too 1911 no issue with 45 ammo
@@JP24Michno glock shoots better then a 1911 wtf you talking about

Watching a national treasure at work always speaks to me on so many levels! Always a pleasure and a learning experience!!
The sidearm my mom has been using since she became a police officer I have respect and a lot of love for this pistol
not as much as your mother does, i bet
I love being able to modulate different models all-in-one frame very cool and thanks for the awesome review mr. Hickok you are the man!
You made me laugh out loud when you said "how 'bout you, Cowboy?" and then proceeded to put a slug right square in his nether region. 😂
I caught that too. 😂😂😂
I was really sitting there like "HIT THE GONG HIT THE GONG" and got super hyped when he hit it, even tho it's hickock so you know he's gonna hit the gong regardless, still hype.
Love all your video's, not a Glock hater or lover. I did love the tones of your steel at 14:30! Keep up the good work and you are definitely appreciated. No doubt a National Treasure.
It’s crazy how u can see the bullet before it hits the gong
How nice...you give us a present on your birthday!! Happy Birthday Hickok45!!
G19 9mill owner here. I’ve only blasted about 1000 rounds so far. No malfunction and I’m second owner of this gun. Found out more from watching these videos than anything else. Thanks Hancock
Lmao
Hitting the gong with a sidearm just proves how much you really do practice, great job!!
My first Glock was the G26, but when they came out with the G30 I was hooked! Nowadays I carry a G30S. I learned how to take a Glock down to it's individual parts, and put it all back together again from a DVD I purchased. I love the Glock pistol! There are many imitators, but the original is still the best! I always put aftermarket parts on mine, (I don't like factory sights) I put XS Sights bigdot tritium nightsights on, & the extended slide release, & the bigger magazine release on mine as well. Just sort of customized to fit my needs.
One thing I don’t think you mentioned is that, not only can you put a 19/45 slide on the 47, but you can also put the 47 slide on a 19 so you can have a 19 length grip with a 17 length slide, which is something people have been asking from glock for ages
And if you put wheels on your grandmother she'll become a bicycle.
@Gonken88 thats way less funny when Italian isnt your first spoken language.
Nobody mentions that part in their video it's like a running bit to keep people confused I don't understand this thing lol
Isn’t that what the 19x is?
@@Jiggavel 19x is the other way around, short slide\barrel and long grip
That’s so cool Hickok bought his first Glock in the 80’s. Not surprised, I just put myself in his shoes at the time
I’ve been watching this man for years , this man can shoot a hand like a riffle
Great video, as always. Informative and fun. I'm a Glock fan myself and people sometimes throw some shade at them but they are RELIABLE. I've shot many rounds through mine and many different brands, whatever. Always goes bang.
Thank you for doing what you do. Keep em coming
You can't be a true gun lover and hate a Glock. Sig is a good firearm as well. Same goes with AR's and AK's. They are both exceptional firearms. I prefer a Glock over a Sig and an AK over AR but that is just preference. I've never felt the need to Sh*t on another exceptional firearm.
Happy Birthday!!! Picked up a 47 last week. Great videos!
No flinch on that empty Hickok, Proud of you!!!! Practice makes perfect. Great example buddy!!!!!
Happy Birthday Hickok🎂🎈
Happy Birthday Greg,,,Great video as usual..Love from SW Ohio,, Neil
love hickok45 been watchig for years
Glock is my preferred weapon. My 43X is always within reach.
Just purchased a Glock 47. This is my first pistol and was originally looking at the G17. Figured this has MOS and is the same size so it works for me.
Dude… my advice… don’t leave one in the chamber until you have owned it and used it for a couple years at least. Or maybe never. If you cary…. Cary with a holster that covers the trigger good. These guns are always on go. Don’t shoot yourselves. Always treat it as if it were loaded ready to fire. Never point it at anything ever that you don’t want to destroy. Never point it at a person even if unloaded and the slide locked back. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you are ready to shoot. Always know what is behind your target. Never ever shoot at the horizon or in the air.
DON’T POINT THE BAREL AT ANYONE EVER!!!!!! Learn what flagging someone means and don’t ever do it. Not even unloaded. 👍 Congratulations. You now own one of the most dangerous pistols for the owner to own.
Hickok45, what can I say? I absolutely love and respect the man. He is a Maverick in shooting, instruction, application and gun history. He does so with such appreciation and reverence and passes on enthusiasm to the listener/learner/follower. Each video is almost an honorary educational opportunity for the listeners to understand what great joy and wonderfulness has been afforded to us all (in the US) under the God given right of the 2nd amendment. The only other thing paramount for a new gun owner/handler is training, common sense and absolute, nonwavering practice of gun safety and recognition. Thank you Hickok45! The US Border Patrol Academy Firearms Department all know your name and watch your videos! I know because I've asked them.
I picked up a 47 because I did not have another 9mm Glock in gen 5. It's been great, no complaints at all.
Catching a new Hickock video is like catching lightnin bugs. 😁
I have a Glock 19. I would buy the 47 instead of a 17 so that I could have four guns: 19, 47, 45, and the 19L.
When you buy one gun you get one gun with one slide. 😂
Always great hickok45.
Glock "Fanboy" here. The entertainment factor always goes up a few notches when Hickok45 is shooting and discussing Glock firearms. Love the modular nature of the 47 and the ability to create different configurations. I was hoping he would put the 47 slide on the 19 frame to create the 19L (long slide) version. Would love to hear his opinions on the shooting characteristics (recoil impulse etc.) of the 19L.
I'll help! It will shoot like a glock ;)
I was hoping to see the 19L as well.
I own a few Glocks. Gen 4, 5s. I was issued a new Glock 19 gen 3 for 6+ mo 2022-2023. I honestly was not crazy about the gun compared to a 22/17 or my Glock 26 9mm. I might buy my own 47 MOS 9mm but to get a 19 for parts seems unlikely.
I sure do like that hand loader
Love your reviews!
I could really use some “GLOCK gong” training after watching this…HICKOK45 is really good with a Sidearm..no joke.
I am from Jordan and I love the world of weapons.
Hickok needs to be put into the Hall of America if there ever was one.
I have just about all the Glocks (and multiple 17s)... I still bought the 47 when it became available. 😂
Imagine breaking into his house and you hear his voice from the dark: "hickok45 here"
Cool new glock 47 I wouldn't mind having one thanks for sharing Hickok45
Thanks for the 47 review! I have been considering adding one to my collection.
Just added one, I dig it
Not really a glock guy but each time you present something it becomes suddently very fun and interesting
Such an interesting and insightful discussion. I love my Glock 17 gen 5.
Man i thought the 19x sounded so dumb until i got my hands on it at the gun shop. Bought it on sight. Shoots great
Same here. It didnt make sense but then I held it and really liked it
dumb is still dumb
Nice ! Our sheriffs office where I work has went with Shadow Systems XR-920 9mm. We have the Streamlight TRL 7-A light. They’re also red dot ready as well. Awesome firearm ! 🇺🇸
Wonder why
That's awesome tho
How's that been going? Hear you got to keep well oil but the accuracy is way better.
Hickok is the man!!
I picked up a 47 as soon as they did the public release. I am pretty happy with it.
The G45 and G47 basically solved the modularity that was missing between the G17 and G19.
Hi Hickok45, can you do an updated Glock 27 at 230 yards for 2023? Your Glock videos are awesome!
If you have a gen 5 19 and buy a 47 you can make yourself a long slide 19 which would be an awesome carry gun.
Grandpa Hickok is still my favorite guntuber of all time!!
I have 4 Glocks and my 45 is now my favorite.
it never gets old watching the bullets hit the gong
Nice review as always, sir. It's funny, I still carry my old Gen 3 Glock 19 despite owning other brands and other Glocks. I've trained so much with it that it now just feels like an extension of my hand.
so, I got the G47 about 2 weeks ago now. It's a 17 with a 19x recoil spring inside. The reason I chose it is I love the 17 but after the Gen 5 is done, they wont make the 17 MOS anymore. I was worried about parts, upgrades etc in the future. The dust cover has a different look than the other Glocks so visually it was awesome. 100rds through it and not a problem at all. The aftermarket for it is awesome cause its the same dimensions as a G17. Just as a reference I had a s&w shield 2.0, then g19x, then G17, then G43x, then the xmacro, then the xfive legion, and I sold it so I can go back to what I love.
I hope you live to be 200… So thankful you have a YT so my 5yo can watch your skills in10-20 years! 🇺🇸🏴💚
The first Glock I shot was a G22 when I was in my early 20's. It was my friends Dad's weapon. I knew I had to have one.
You should bring the Glock 32 back out this Sunday. Hint hint ..or anything.357 sig
357sig is a great round. Better than 40cal
This man Hickok is not playing when it comes to making that gong ring.
Hickock45 I can honestly say that I learn how to shoot from watching your videos!
Bought one and love it. Currently being milled for a 509T (not a fan of the optic plates).
It’s fun to learn about the technical differences between guns, but your range looks like the most fun ever!
I have a Glock 43x as My Carry pistol had the sights up graded and a trigger job done l and I love it.
hickok45 is a great communicator; i understand every word he says(i am French)
He’s back!!!!
I already had a Glock 19 gen 5. Decided to pick up a Glock 47. Now I have 4 guns for the price of two. I love it. Makes sense if the shit ever hit the fan to have multiple pistols with interchangeable parts, mags, etc…
Happy Birthday my friend!!
Glocks are the most comfortable for me. Thanks for the video.
I will not buy one at this stage of my life but I like the concept of being able to switch slides.
Goat doing goat stuff.
great video, thank you!
I think the Glock 47 makes a lot of sense for Glock as a company, because it might eventually mean no need for a separate Glock 17 frame anymore, when the 47 and 45 on the same frame get you both common slide lengths with no compromise on performance. To get the 19, 17, and 45 form factor they can make two frames and two slides (since if you're a weirdo and you want to put a 17-length slide on a 19-sized frame, you can do that with the Glock 47 slide).
That things sounds like a frikkin magnum pistol! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 So glad the model 47 is finally available to the public 🤩🤩🤩🤩
You can also put the 47 slide on the 19 frame.
You also missed out on the 19L option. The 19 frame with the 47 slide and barrel.
A few people like the idea of the shorter frame with the longer barrel for carry. The short frame is easier to conceal and the longer slide is not harder to conceal.
So that makes a good case for the 19 and 47 as a pair to swap parts across.
I'm surprised we didn't get to see that, the 19L is more appealing to me than the 45.
Bonus: you can put a long slide (47) onto the shorter (19) frame😊.
You can see the fricking bullet fly through the air when John zooms into the gong, so cool.
Been watching your channel for many years, have gotten educated on firearms in general & specifically on the guns I own. Curious to know your opinion, are there other companies with the variety of products as Glock??
Some like the modularity between the 47 and 19 in order to make a model that glock doesnt really offer and thats a glock 19L with the 19frame and 47slide
Wanted a G48 but our pathetic Canadian government come out with a "handgun freeze" before I could. Luckily I had a sp101 transfer in the system before that happened. So wish I could move south of the border and enjoy some common sense freedoms. Thanks Hickock for the vids!!!
@@waholoopesorry74 Trust me I'm trying. I'm the wrong colour and coming from the wrong country, but I will keep at it. Thanks for the invitation though.

Are you a trucker?
I like the new camera and it’s cadence of the gunfire. Feel Hickok was a little underwhelmed with the 47 but can’t deny it’s another solid offering from Glock even if it’s another same thing.
Or is it?…..
If you want the optics cut in a type 17. You have to get the Gen 5 mdl. 47. They no longer offer the 17 in a MOS

HICKOK, I’ll bet you could play Yankee Doodle Dandy with that 33round mag 😂
I still like the 19 and 26. Also the 21 and 30s.
Put the G47 slide on the G19 frame. People have been wanting that configuration for years.
You can also put the G47 slide on the G19 frame.
Good information! The sheriff’s office I work for is going to the 47.
nobody does it like Hickok45
I like the Glock Model 22 .40 because that was the first handgun I ever fired when growing up, it has that special memory with me. However I held the Glock Model 47 and thought it was a pretty nice handgun and given that you can configure it as well with the Glock 19 slide that is pretty neat. I hope to see more police departments adopt these because it could save them money so they don't have to buy the Glock 19 for detectives when they can just issue the Glock 47 and have the 19 slides for detectives who wish to have the more compact slide.
Modularity is compelling, if one entertains survival scenarios. Parts are parts.
I've been jonesin for a Glock video.
