Choosing The Best Backpack for Rifle Hunting

- Over the years, I've used a lot of packs and I started out my backpack hunting with just what would be called hippie packs. just backpacks that were used for going backpacking for scenic tours and kinds of stuff. I had one of those picked one up and started elk hunting with it and did really well.
And what I figured out was I could use these straps on the outside of the pack to hold mine. So I could slide it on this side or that side, or even on the back and just wrap the straps around it because most of what you're doing is covering ground. And when it's getting into the game, you start to see some sign, take it off and you're ready to go.
But a lot of guys want to have instant access. I wasn't so much worried about that because I found that almost any full-size backpack for a backpack hunt will have some way that you can use a rifle. Sliding in, in the outside somewhere to strap it on. Some of 'em will have those external side pockets that have a tent pole slot down them.
Those work really well too.
I'd love to hear how you got started on RUclips. I am so glad to have found your channel you're a wealth of knowledge and very easy to listen to. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Mr. Jason. A digitally competent young friend set up the channel for me and showed me how to make a few starter videos. Things slowly built from there.
@@RonSpomerOutdoors that’s awesome, I really enjoy what you have to say!
This guy just seems so down to earth and a cool guy. Not surfer dude cool, more like 'the grandpa that has a solution for everything' cool.
Molle shotgun scabbard works great for my savage 99
Great to listen to and excellent info, keep it up!
Thanks Cody. I'll try.

I really like the sound quality. What microphone is that?

Hey Ron out of curiosity how old are you?
Hmmm. How old would you guess? I get a kick out of people's perceptions of my age. Don't worry, you won't insult me.
@Ron Spomer Outdoors Well I have been a huge fan of yours for many many years and I'm 51. The point is you don't look your age.
@@eatingelizabethsfrizbee Ah, we use lots of smoke and mirrors to achieve that effect. (70)
@Ron Spomer Outdoors Wow I never would have guessed. Your knowledge of the subject gives you away though, take care, sir, it was a honor to have spoken with you.
@@RonSpomerOutdoors Ron you’re only 35, you use cgi to grizzle yourself. I know your tricks 😂❤
