Mad respect! Glad to see you seeing the big picture. I've seen a lot of your hunting videos and I have to commend you on the work ethic you have and the dedication you put into your videos. You're a class act and a wonderful ambassador for the sport of hunting. Many "hunters" are just what I call "shooters". You my friend are a true hunter. You literally work your butt off and regardless of the result, you show great appreciation for the natural resources and the opportunities made available to you. Your emotions are raw and genuine. Your hunts are always awesome because it's authentic and captures all the highs and lows. Continue to be a wonderful ambassador for the sport, my friend. Keep doing what you do. It's not about the end result, but rather the journey that makes a hunt so enjoyable. You my friend, are bar none, the most legit hunter out there and your videos, they are wonderfully done. No frills and thrills and no dramatic sound effects. You've been able to capture the essence of hunting, something highend production companies fail to do because it lacks authenticity. Please stay safe and make the most of the time you have while you're still young and able. Take care and always remember that you've now become an ambassador for the sport, so carry that burden with pride and always lead by example! Cheers!

Respect for busting your hump and putting lots of hours in. Really enjoyed this and it shows what a grind hunting can be. True hunters love that grind. Makes a harvest even more special when hard work pays off. Also, even more respect that you let that mother live so she could ensure the survival of her calves. That’s conservation.

I hate the sound a deer makes when being attacked by a puma or bear. It’s literally the scariest and spine chilling sound you can ever hear especially out alone in the woods. That grunting and screaming at 10:20.... I have a very good friend who was solo elk hunting the Selkirk up past Redtop Mt, way back in the hills. He had not seen a person or vehicle in a couple for days. He was parked above a steep, thick ravine much like the one you are hunting here and at dusk, making something to eat and said that he heard some guttural screams, moans and what sounded like two or 3 "creatures" having some sort of dialogue in the draw below him. It was pitch black and the screams and shouts kept getting closer to him. He tried shouting back, throwing some rocks down the hill but he said they just kept making noise and coming closer. He started to hear branches break, he said what sounded like big branches/small logs being smashed against trees. It scared him to the point that he locked himself in his van with his .454 Casull in his lap. They moved past his van and up the draw further until he could not hear them anymore. He is not one to lie or make things up, one of the most standup, honest people I have ever known. It shook him up good. Mabey the Selkirk is the key to finding Sasquatch?

Im sure someone may have mentioned it but the Thermocell is great and works wonders in mosquito thick areas, I use em every year hunting in Deep East Texas.

I did this 20 years ago for seven days by myself using a recurve, and I found myself on day four completely in touch with all the animals going to bed at exactly dark getting up with the first bird, chirp, laying down and going to sleep next to watering holes… my senses all became better, and I didn’t even speak to a human for seven days. When is the last time anybody can say that unless they are in solitary confinement

Sitting vs stalking. I can't help but wonder if you should have mixed it up a little bit more and hunted out from the wallow in bigger and bigger circles. I'm doing my first second season elk hunt next week, and I'm so pumped.

Have you try using a thermacell? To get rid of the mosquitoes. It's very helpful. Try it out

Cougars back off a kill and watch to see if anything curious comes to check the ruckus, not the best idea to go walking in when they are still amped after a kill. Would have been ultra-amazing to bag a cougar with the bow though, so it would be very hard to resist the idea of taking a look. Super rare, very lucky to be a part of that moment. I am hoping that big 6 makes his appearance for you Sam!

I’ve been watching this kid when he didn’t have 800 followers… he’s been such a great representative of an outdoorsman, YT hunting page and person. I sincerely hope he has continued success in and out of the field.
I don’t believe he’ll fall victim to the industry that changed the guys like BRO, HUSHIN and the Gritty Bowman … but instead this kid will be as respected as Elk101 Corey Jacobson for example.
Corey and Samong are two hunters I’d drop everything to hunt with… good luck man!

I have no idea how this video came up in my youtube, I just randomly clicked. I watched the whole thing. I haven't watched someone else's hunting videos in a while now. I have to admire your dedication in filming your hunt. From start to finish, I know it's a lot of work. Good idea on the notebook. Sitting is boring as hell. I'd bring a book to read, but at my age I need reading glasses, which just wouldn't work while hunting. Good job overall man! 👍
