Ian, I appreciate your content. It is always interesting to hear how things were developed. My problem with a dual AR is the ammunition. Twice the barrels, twice the ammo, twice the expense. Still, it is cool to see!
I think the reason Israel produces a lot of tacticool stuff is because generally it’s army serves more so as a police/occupation force. So there is a need for things like tv guns that can shut round corners. Looking high tech and intimidating is important from a psychological warfare standpoint
I don't know, but their history is more like policing every single one of their neighbours, even if sometimes they made it look like a bit of policing.
Your reasoning makes me want to see a three barrel one! One barrel that is on point of aim, then the other two for good measure. I understand that probably would be difficult to design and make reliable, but imagine this rifle, but with three barrels aligned in a triangle. That would be very cool and effective.
Something like this might be a good way to get extra fire volume out of a “big bore” AR, like one in .458 SOCOM or .50’Beowulf. Come to think of it, you never hear much about those cartridges nowadays or ARs chambered in those calibers. As I said on the other version, has anyone ever considered increasing hit probability by teaching soldiers to shoot properly? For any army not actively engaged in a war at the time, it usually works. It worked for the British army to a remarkable degree.
Eons ago, a movie ("The Island" or "Island"), showed the protagonist's weapon, a "twinned" Thompson, set up for shot and shell but a single trigger. I rationalized such as being ridiculously heavy and waay too hungry but set about to conceive of improvements towards efficiency. Forget the Titanium construction, but I felt that an alternate firing cycle would be of immense benefit. A simple pinned gear between two bolts, like a dual rack and pinion setup would slow the ammo depletion, cut down the recoil and shave half of the weight of each bolt, as the gear would be driving both at the same time. This would benefit both the military AND the civilian market since it bypasses the 'one trigger pull per shot' rule. I felt the effort wasn't too shabby for a 16 year old. What are your thoughts?
The relevant US law literally says it's a machine gun if a single function of the trigger fires two or more shots. Now you can miss twice as fast. One of the biggest advantage of AR platform is its light weight. let's double it!!!. Would be handy for a upsrmored go-cart!
Since the design is forced to have two separate triggers, it seems like it might benefit from having an elongated trigger guard and having one of the triggers extended downward, so that one trigger is pulled by the index finger, and the other is pulled by the middle finger.
Selling this with a single trigger for volley fire still seems like it should be legal. If they sell revolvers that shoot two separate rounds simultaneously, then there should be no problem with this. Also, the system used here to zero the barrels together is wonderfully elegant.
With the adjusted bullet paths crossing each other, say at 50 yards, Using the single trigger system, so that the cartridges truly fire at the same moment, Is there ever a danger of the bullets striking each other mid flight? Thus the 1" spacing being more desirable? Imagining the resulting flight paths of the bullets in abstract directions from a mid-air strike.
In addition to hit probability, using a dual barel system reduces the hit buildup and cookoff problem for LOVA propellants. This was a popular line of research starting in the 1980s, notably with the G11
I would think reason for the separate DI systems on the civilian version is because the unified piston system wouldn’t cycle if only one barrel fires, and with two triggers, it would be almost impossible to fire both barrels perfectly in unison.
This is honestly a really viable option for a "civilian" sustained fire build. You can fire one side till empty, then use the other. Allowing each barrel to cool between use.
The Gillboa Snake is one of those guns that may not be pratical but it's very popular simply because of how tacticool it is due to being essentially two assault rifles glued together and oh boy the triple-barreled FAMAS is quite the bizarre sight, even by bizarre standards🤣!
I have one of these. Maybe my trigger finger is longer than yours, but I can operate both triggers with little effort. It is an absolute “blast” to shoot, plus it scares the heck out of those who don’t understand firearms.
What if you reversed one trigger mechanism to face the other direction while also lowering the pull weight. You could just wiggle your finger in there and have full auto for all intents and purposes.
"one trigger pull cannot fire multiple shots" So lets say one would make segmented multi-trigger, one could make normal "semi-auto" fire as many shots as there are triggers hmm
It’s possible with very high quality match grade ammo. You’d have a hell of a time capturing it on high speed camera, but it could be done. But even with match ammo the point of convergence would vary, and odds are that the two rounds would not come into contact with one another. It would be pure luck to make that happen, and even more luck to prove it. Which is to say, yes, someone should try this just for the fun of it.
The funniest thing about the civilian variation is that the AF2011-A1 and S333 Thunderstuck are both precident about firing two shots from two barrels being "volley fire" and not really being a machine gun.
The only thing RUclips hates more than one AR is two glued together

Imagining the resulting flight paths of the bullets in abstract directions from a mid-air strike.
I wonder if they could come up with a binary trigger that would fire one side on the pull and the other side on release. 🤔
In addition to hit probability, using a dual barel system reduces the hit buildup and cookoff problem for LOVA propellants. This was a popular line of research starting in the 1980s, notably with the G11
Huh? There was never a double barrel G11 concept.
I’m very suprised to see nobody has yet to say “switching to your other trigger is faster than reloading”
Someone said exactly that 13hrs before you
I think the correct term for adjusting the barrels' POI is "regulate"
I would think reason for the separate DI systems on the civilian version is because the unified piston system wouldn’t cycle if only one barrel fires, and with two triggers, it would be almost impossible to fire both barrels perfectly in unison.
This is honestly a really viable option for a "civilian" sustained fire build. You can fire one side till empty, then use the other. Allowing each barrel to cool between use.
Truly a forgotten weapon: A prototype storm bolter.
The Gillboa Snake is one of those guns that may not be pratical but it's very popular simply because of how tacticool it is due to being essentially two assault rifles glued together and oh boy the triple-barreled FAMAS is quite the bizarre sight, even by bizarre standards🤣!
imagine triplex ammo with the gilboa snake
AKIMBO
with binary trigger
Why are you trying to reinvent a 12gauge? 😅
@@jonasfrito2 One that's effective at 300 yards
thank you for posting
I have one of these. Maybe my trigger finger is longer than yours, but I can operate both triggers with little effort. It is an absolute “blast” to shoot, plus it scares the heck out of those who don’t understand firearms.
"Hi, I'm Ian coming to you from a REDACTED location"
What if you reversed one trigger mechanism to face the other direction while also lowering the pull weight. You could just wiggle your finger in there and have full auto for all intents and purposes.
Wouldnt legally be full auto cos you are pulling a trigger each time. Sounds like it would be allowed but you'd get a sore finger.
@@jakraziel you could full knuckle it and wiggle your arm then lol
Taping two akm mags is stupid and makes weapon heavier.
Gilboa: Hold my beer.
"one trigger pull cannot fire multiple shots"
So lets say one would make segmented multi-trigger, one could make normal "semi-auto" fire as many shots as there are triggers hmm
We should be blurring that sign of saturn, star of remphan.
Yeah thanks youtube. Pathetic company i swear.
Keep it up man, love watching your videos!
Remember-switching to your AF2011 is always faster than reloading.
"so yeah, this gun is actually two"
youtube: dear god
LOL would love to see a grouping made with that 'thing' ...
"Hi, I'm Ian, and i'm currently in a blacksite"
RUclips advertising porn sites, but Ian can't talk about protecting our Second Amendment. RUclips needs to be replaced.
💯
It's advertising outright scams...
Super Earth has confirmed it's next purchase.
It would be an interesting experiment to configure one of these guns for crossing paths and see if they can ever get two bullets colliding
Where does the bayonet go?
What if we made a double Gilboa? With Gardner style crossed gas tubes. So then we could have a functional Ripper / Chaingun Cannon from DN3D?
The idea of a semi-auto machine gun pleases me.
You can't convince me that this isn't the Echohawk from Black Ops 4
We desperately need a meme of
Keep your finger off the trigger when Re-holstering
Always take the time for the context.
