Just a couple things to note people (and Phil): * When to crouch: -The difference is enormous. If you are too early you barely gain speed, if you are on time, the boost is huge. This effect is exponential to your currently equipped weapons weight. * Limited FPS: -The difference is again, enormous. With limited FPS you lose about 90% of control, you simply cannot do all the things even if Phil says so. For example: Try getting a high speed, say enough to almost clear the Littletown street "gap". Now fly with that speed towards an obstacle and try to dodge it. You simply cannot. The turn starts close to halfway into the slide and you don't have any finesse. Try this with unlimited and you can do an actual S turn at that super fast speed, dodging the obstacle or even two. -Example 2: Try doing a slidehop, turn your camera 180 degrees in the air and slide. With limited FPS you turned about 4/5 of 180 degrees and probably hit a wall. Now try this with unlimited FPS and you turn instantly and still have finesse left if you actually want to go a bit left or right or even turn an another 180 while still sliding. * Strafe Slidehopping: -This is not a thing and has no effect on your speed, turn radius or slide length or anything for that matter. * Random tips: - You can accelerate faster by jumping from the slide with your slide button (SHIFT) still held. You will jump lower when in crouched state and this will enable you to make an another slide much quicker - Above tip should actually be your normal way of movement, use full hops (let go of SHIFT before hopping from slides) for extra control to get over boxes, or drop one of those in when sliding towards a hunter so maybe they miss the headshot when you now are a bit higher in the air (hitting your chest). - If you seem to be going too fast you can slow down by holding out the slide a bit longer, until you hit the slowdown period of the slide and hop away then, effectively you lost speed that slide. If you perfect this, you never have to stop slide hopping. Just a quick couple of things that popped to mind after watching this as a veteran :)
Thanks for the list and feedback. I am no pro at movement so it's good to hear this from you. I tried your jump before releasing shift thing and that makes sense depending on the situation . If I'm wrong about something I will always update it in a future vid with an explanation. I'll have to experiment more based on your notes above.

I can pretty much explain why slidehopping changes depending on your framerate Basically the physics is tied more likely to fps and updates faster/more precise whenever it expects higher framerates due to function being tied to requestAnimationFrame, every frame the sliding changes its direction so having for example to 726 fps, the direction could update 726 times a second, allowing to corner at greater speeds, the fix is not super tough, when sliding, you apply less control whenever it expects greater function refresh rate, like change it more tougher when expects 10 fps and change softer when its taking like 3.19 ms to request frame.
Hey. Great tutorial, you can make the background green with your keystroke overlay so you can add a chroma key effect and make the background transparent.
There is also a move that you can do if you are going to try to turn into a hallway but are going too fast and you will just barely miss it. Its called a 270 slide, just like a 180 except you are doing 270 degrees, but you have to slide curve, instead of turning in the air. It will slow you down just a little bit while also making you harder to hit, and it sends you at a perfect angle into the hallway or whatever.

There is one other mechanic that I think people should know. It is possible to jump higher than normal if you let go of shift in mid air the instant before you land, and immediately bhop. It take some time to master it, and it can be finicky, but it helps get over certain objects much easier (this is especially useful in parkour maps). That, and all the sliding mechanics.

Tip: If you are going to turn a corner and you feel like you are going to crash into the wall, just ads. Most of the time you slow down enough and not crash into the wall.
I don't know the custom engine and my experience mostly in c# not java, so I could be missing something. That said, I think that it could easily be untied to framerate. Rather than updating each frame the game could run a function that controls when the movement updates, making the physics run at a fixed update speed. Function: If your fps is > 60, divide fps by 60 and wait for that number of frames before updating. Then run this function after each update to determine the next one. The 60 could be replaced with whatever fps you want to movement to be locked at. The value could even be editable in match settings. Example: If your fps is 546: 546/60 ≈ 9 (rounded) 9x60 = 540 thus movement has only been updated ≈ 60 times in that second. Running the function each update would change the number of frames waited each update making it consistent with an unstable framerate. It's bad practice to have gamespeed tied to framerate. Usually much of a games systems are handled by a fixed update function. I don't know if this game has dedicated servers. If it's player hosted the match timer must be a fixed update or it would scale with framerate too. This is a very odd oversight in an otherwise we'll made game. Or maybe it's duct tape and spaghetti code under the hood. I don't know lol
I play 60 FPS but I downloaded the Client on my friends PC cuz I don’t have my own as I play at a Library and it feels different to go from 60 FPS to 110+ because he is on a laptop but getting a 144hz monitor soon and a pc for Christmas but it felt way different and it takes time to adjust

I watched this to figure out why I sucked at slide hopping, but now I realise it's just my PC. So people with better computers have a massive advantage. 60 FPS is nearly impossible to curve slide with
Fact: you can walljump in krunker, in order to do that you have to be on a wall, jump, crouch ans jump again, if you are fast enough you can even perform wall slide by doing the same thing but with extra speed and not jumping once you are airborne It can be useful if you want to surprise the ennemy or is just a mad man of movement but overall that's not very useful in actual combat Still fun to do tho

Haha I'm glad someone noticed. I have a weird grip where I wrap my ring finger around the side edge of the mouse. I feel it gives me more control with downward pulls .
I can't do 180 at 120 FPS because when I try this I actually do some kind of 90 and I think it's really wierd, but I learned a technique from a friend that was very useful when you're a low FPS gamer: You slide at first and then you turn

No it's not. Try to airstrafe
At max speed u can do an instant 45°turn when going next to a wall and walljumping its op!

A buzzkill is when u killa player thqts on a five kill streak
Buzzkill means that you kill people with a 5 kill streak or above, it award you 10 points
