- In this video, we take a look at what Neuvillette tells us about the nation of Pyro and War, Natlan. However, what he says isn't the first time we've heard it, back in 2.5 another NPC tells us a few things that seem even more relevant than ever before. Let's try to think what kind of characters and NPCs we can expect in Natlan based on this information. I hope you enjoy the video :D

Just putting it out there, another example of this adaptability feature Vishaps have is when we see Pahsiv in the 4.2 update. She's indistinguishable from a normal melusine except for her eyes which looks like a vishap's so she could be a melusine vishap. Also her name spelt backward is Vishap so yeah.
Yeah they can adapt anywhere, even in Places where Melusines live..

This could be part of the reason why we haven't found a single Natlan NPC yet, they don't want to spoil the dragon people.

There's was a theory that any Natlaners that went outside Natlan are cursed with bad luck. Guess that was the case for Bennett since he was found in Mare Jivari, which is a place/domain in Natlan.
But apparently people can come in and out of the place so it's fine i guess? Still we don't know their luck state and we just haven't seen anyone yet maybe because there's not many that went out.

Fun fact: Asakai, the genshin lore content creator, theorized last year that Natlan was going to be a nation of dragons, after nahida’s second story quest.
Also I hope in Natlan we get some actual dragons, that look similar to Dvalin, along with Dragon people.
Nuevellite confirmed that they are different from ancient dragons like dvalin. So let's see how they make it

Honestly I thought the evolution of vishaps is why pure-blooded khaenrians were so different from others when it came to surviving the curse. It would make sense that if they had a child while under the curse, such as Kaeya, they could adapt to overcome the curse and live out a normal life. Maybe its too far fetched but it was an idea
Fun fact: if you look at the names in the description of the weapon The Talking Stick, most of them are names of lizard-like mythical creatures in Africa. So yeah, the hint of Natlan being a nation of dragons has been around since 4.0

We know that the new Fontaine update changed the border map where the islands west of the desert are now transported to the north of the map so I think that natlan maybe underground, underwater maybe, like maybe an underwater volcano

Underwater stuff is only allowed for Fontaine since it's not sea we're swimming in, the whole underwater world of Fontaine is just a giant lake

@@jiwei9889 hmm maybe work. They conveniently removed flood water only from the current 4.0 Fontaine which I'd say is only like 30-40% of entire Fontaine. Actual Fontaine is Submerged under that giant lake. But instead of expanding, they actually made convenient changes to the story.
But actually like a tunnel that's extended to another region that's filled with water would be cool.

Incredible that we knew more about Snezhnaya and even Khaenriah than Natlan.
I just notice yesterday that the elemental gems we use for leveling up characters, the gold tier in their description, spoils the topic of the story we are going to live in the nation of the respective element. For example the electro gem talk about the eternal life, the hydro about sins and judgment, cryo changing the world, and pyro about a wish that they want to reach, pretty cool detail

While I agree that it's most likely we'll be seeing Vishap-people or humans with dragon features in Natlan, I doubt we'll be seeing them with tails and wings because of Hoyo's track record with their NPC design (unless they're playable ofc). I still can't forgive them with 3.3 event NPCs 😭😭😭

So basically like most Fontainians are oceanids, the Natlan people (Natlaner/Natlanese/whatever) are vishap people?

I'm pretty sure only the Bathysmal/Hydro Vishaps have that level of adaptability. Iirc the bits of Apep we met can directly shapeshift over a period of time. Their kids were also true fungi, albeit a little smarter than normal. The Geovishaps we've seen haven't presented an ability to evolve; though Azhdaha and the Primo Geovishaps use other elements, they seem to be containing rather than evolving. It's likely the other types of Vishaps will have their own unique qualities as well
Remember. Kokomi Quickly denied the existence of Vishap people depsite what we the travellers know.
In other words. Kokomi is a Vishap hiding her ancestry.
The eyes don't match. So far, every Vishap-person (Neuvillette, Pahsiv) has the same split purple eyes
The thing is, Kokomi doesn't have pupils
That event had some priestess with lizard eyes. Kokomi said that other woman was not a vishap-person, though. (That woman herself does think so, because she was raised by Vishaps.)

About Involvement of Fatui Harbringer, The Captain in the Natlan War, i can give about 3 theories;
1. Captain doing _divide et impera_ to both sides by giving them false information and let they fight against each other
2. Captain Siding with one side and giving them aid for war
3. Captain with his Fatui Army become third-party of the war to Overthrow both sides and the archon
This seems like Tribe war betweens Human and Dragonoid or Ethnic war between different breed of Dragonoid
I think its the third, I mean the fatui is kinda like British in someway... They definitely trying to conquer Natlan

Capitano is the most good, honorable and sane Harbinger. He will most likely try to exchange Gnosis with pyro archon for something, but she will want to fight with him in exchange, otherwise I don't see how he can fight with her.
I'm just hoping that the main antagonists for Natlan this time will be the Abyss, I know the Capitan is going to be in Natlan, but I'd even appreciate a Fatui vs Abyss conflict. But I'm just coping, so I'll let Hoyoverse cook, unless the cooker is Ei.
@MrZXrage Oh thank god, I thought that I was the only one who wanted to have the Abyss as the antagonists of the Natlan Arc instead of the cliche Fatui.
@_WASIYO Or if the Fatui do try to fuck up Natlan, then maybe the Snezhnaya Arc might be the Traveler snapping at the Fatui after becoming the Avatar by gaining all 7 Elements and having a boss rush/massacre against each and every Harbinger along side a fight against the Tsaritsa except for Scaramouche, now Wanderer and Signora, the Crimson Witch of Ashes.
The music just make me nostalgia! What a long journey we had together, even though I don't play the game much since 3.0 released, I still find old Genshin was just stunning.
So that melusine in Erinnyes really is an actual vishap. I thought as much when she stood next to the actual vishap and realised they had the exact same eyes and colour scheme. But I wasn't around for this event so I didn't know that speculation was pretty close to the truth.

I believe that once we get to Natlan, these "dragons" or vishap people Neuvillette talks about will be related to mayan gods. There is Xbalanque (a moon god), who speaks of Neuvillette in his drip teaser, and many Mayan gods have reptile like depictions. Mayan gods are worshiped as beings of nature, and Natlan being the nation of war, will probably have their best warriors be the gods, be the dragons

He was obviously talking about all the sovereign in that phrase, like "when they come back and get together their true ordeal shall begin", this phrase does not apply to Neuvillette, because he came back and his true ordeal didn't start, he got all his strength back and his true ordeal didn't start. Anyway, even if he was only talking about Neuvillette, what made you think Xbalanque was sovereign, because of primal fire? Then why did you decide that primal fire is connected with sovereign, primordial sea was not connected with hydro sovereign in any way.
@@iosis9324 Neuvillette is connected the the primordial sea. He has complete control over it. Xbalanque is probably the og pyro sovereign, so when he said when they return he was talking about either Neuvillette himself of all of the new sovereigns
@@jalenjordan6837 He gained control only after the return of all his powers and he gained control over the ENTIRE water including the Primordial sea. Primordial sea itself has nothing to do with him.
But ok, I don't want to argue anymore. As for me, it is too early to call Xbalanque a sovereign, and there is no 100% evidence of this theory.

She doesn't have dragon pupils, and dragons are sick from the Abyss. So she's probably just a creature from there like a whale.
@@iosis9324 i forgot about that one, but that probably means she's an abyssal creature or a human that was cursed and became a monster-like human that somehow managed to preserve its sanity similar to dainslief. That narwhal isnt from the abyss though, it's said to have visited and also probably destroyed many world's.
@@FocalorIsBestMom I'm pretty confident that abyss isn't a part of "teyvat", it's something that expands around the whole universe. That's why it's called a separate realm, similar to the "sea of quanta" in honkai impact. It's a gateway to the other worlds that connects everything, INCLUDING multiple timelines, if they exist.
Also a lot of people mistake abyss for being under teyvat, it's mostly referred to as being "deep" not because it's underground but rather it's the deepest part of the universe itself.
Just a speculation on my part but the spiral abyss is most likely a sort of miniature version of the actual abyss, probably created by either Kanrea'h or perhaps someone from the Hexenzirkle.
Also no, since vishaps are seen as inferior to dragons, skirk most definitely isn't a vishap. She also can't use any elemental powers so she's not a dragon either.
@@Bubs_dayo I also like the abyss theory, and your theory is actually very good, I don't often watch theory's that relate to HI3 though because it gets too complicated for my brain so I don't understand as much, also if the multiple timelines things is also true, hoyo would have killed many characters by now. My main confusion is skirk, because she clearly possess some kind of abyss element yet seems to be directly connected to the primordial waters which is something pure that was used to make life which is the complete opposite of the abyss. Her hands look like arlecchinos hands but primordial water version, and she was able to turn the whale into miniature (Pokémon hunting) just like that. She also appears to send the narwhal and childe to the abyss again. She also has fin like features which leans more into vishaps because they usually stay in the water hence the fins. She really give off descender vibes and Surtalogi too but it isn't possible. She's still hot tho so no worries
@@FocalorIsBestMom She described her element as “The power from beyond”, exactly what Dainalief calls his power. I’m just guessing here but this sort of element could only be native to people who are related to the abyss since these are the only 2 people who can use it.
As for what this “power from beyond” is, honestly I haven’t got a clue. The only thing I can link it to would be quantum from Honkai.
Or rather “Void-Quantum” to be exact, it has special properties which can stop time and make cracks through space. Which we see a lot of abyss monsters do, it’s not just skirk but also higher ranking abyss monsters which can creat portals. Such as Golden Worflord and Heralds/Lectors.
Another word for void quanta is Finality, which just makes things a LOT more interesting. Hoyoverse introduced the concept of “Finality” about couple years ago in Honkai impact, it has already made its way to Honkai star rail so I’m assuming they’ll hint it in Genshin as well.
It’s probably just me but Skirks design really resembled the Finality. Even her thigh highs had some very intriguing galaxy patterns.

I think it's interesting that Chapter V is titled "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection" and the Fatui only needs one more gnosis now, assuming they have the Tsaritsa's gnosis. Are they trying to resurrect the 3rd descender?
That is something that occurred to me as well.
They're resurrecting signora bc she's Pyro, natlan culture has some resurrection rituals probably, and signora turned to ash (winners burn bright while losers turn to ash)

Human-vishaps existing in Natlan, which is a narion of war, seems like both a curse and a blessing. Blessing in the form of having extreme adaptability in a land torn by war, and curse that they are probably fighting endlessly throughout all these years of co-existence.
This is a blessing for me bc Dragons are my fav mythical creatures and being able to have a half-dragon playable character would be amazing 😭
And now I can't get the thought of Iansan breathing fire like a badass.

Pahsiv looks like a half-Vishap aswell. Maybe that was a subtle hint that we will get more vishap people in the future, just like Chongyun.
pahsiv is literally a vishap. The word vishap reversed is pahsiv.
What I am gonna say is just a funny thought instead of a proper theory. So from what we know Bennet is probably from Natlan, maybe Bennet is also a Vishap or part Vishap, and hes under a curse which is his badluck making his life incredibly difficult with alot of challenges so his descendants will evolve to combat all the hardships hes faced
If we're for that his eyes would be vishap, a curse could be, maybe his parents died in war because to that curse, leaving him alone in mare jivari.

I am way more exited for Natlan than Fontaine, can't wait to get to that Nation. I am curious to see how things will play, and maybe what kind of adventures we will get there with other characters from other Nations.

Neuvillette didn't mention anything about the Pyro Archon. The question is... is the Pyro Archon is still alive or otherwise?
Chances are she's probably still alive since there's no hard evidence to suggest that she's dead. It's very interesting how hoyoverse refuses to share any details about her aside from the fact that she's obnoxious and likely has a tribal/spartan-like mindset and personality.
I think it's also very likely Murata might take inspirations from Honkai's Himiko Murata. Hoyoverse does like to use their previous series for inspiration in their games after all.

What I took from Neuvilette was that dragons coexist with human in like theres dragons (more like animals) and humans living together in a symbiotic way.
To me is kinda of a hint to natlan gimmick, something like people from natlan wont acknowlege you because you dont have a dragon partner, similar to Avatar. And Natlan gimmick will be dragon races.
But thats just my headcanon

I'm really curious what's going on in Natlan! If Natlan is a Nation of dragons i guess that mean most "vision/playable" characters might be Dragons-humans? That would mean some of or most of them won't be using a Vision to use their powers i guess. If a Dragon-human is a elemental being, they don't need visions to use an element, so i guess none of them should be using a vision.
If that's the case, why is there an Archon in the first place if Dragons dislike Archons... Or maybe the current archon will die and someone else will take Murata's place as the Pyro Sov?
vishap in 4.2 area pretty much neutral unless you attack them. maybe pyro sov there like neuvillete to control them.They can be co-ruler tho
Perhaps the difference between a normal human and a vishap is their red hair? We’ve never seen Natlan people but from the Genshin Impact comics we know they have red hair. Like oceanids when in human form have blue hair, perhaps the red hair of a Natlan citizen is a sign they’re actually vishap/vishap hybrids? That would also explain why the people of Natlan such as Vannessa seems to be physically stronger than our average Teyvat human.
There's the girl in the History Chapter video, but she had grey/silver hair.
Could it be that there's one side of Natlan fully dedicated to the war, and another more related to venerate the primordial fire.

another fun thing I realized is that we also may have already met some of the other sovereigns so far. Unless it's a trait exclusive to neuvillette, the sovereigns can reincarnate after death, so it's highly possible that Dvalin, Azhdaha, and Orobashi were dragon sovereigns that were reborn, having lost their memories of the time when they were sovereigns like neuvillette did.
Neuvillette also mentions that we've encountered the sovereignS (plural) before, followed by Paimon mentioning that they're all unique personalities, meaning we have already met more than one at this point (being Apep). They often use Elemental dragon and sovereign dragon interchangeably throughout the game, so this may be a case of reincarnation like neuvillette, only those three didn't reincarnate in human form. (not that we've met Orobashi, so they may have already been reincarnated and are out there somewhere)
Slight issue in you comment Orobashi was a god not a dragon. He originated from the human realm.

Hear me out - with the way the things are going, I am playing with the idea that by the time Shnezhnaya comes, we will join Tsaritsa (and ultimately our twin) in her stand against the Heavenly Principles. Apart from Venti, every Archon gave up the Gnosis, Neuvilette even specifically said that he agrees with their (Harbingers) ideas and agreed to give up his gnosis "for the higher good".

Likely some of the characters will have dragon eyes and features in natlan, being evolved humanoid dragon? As for the natlan combat theme, it may well be some sort of rage mechanic. Either the more you hit or get hit the higher various stats grow. It calms down the longer you spend without dealing damage or taking damage. Thats my guess anyway. To distinguish it from fontaine maybe it's just getting hit (even on a shield) not necessarily taking damage.

That aside, Neuvilette also mentions that Natlan is currently in the middle of a civil war, with The Knave also mentioning the Capitano was also participating on it so that serves an explanation why there are no Natlanders (is that how we call people from Natlan lol) appearing in other nations, as from what I've experienced so far?
Also, Pahsiv in the The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes side quest is actually a vishap as well. Clever that her name in reverse obviously spelled that out. After you're down with the quests there are now friendly vishaps roaming around nearby Loch Urania (until you hit them of course)

Well no but more like the Dragons in Natlan had adapted to where they are able to take human forms like Neuvillette and live amongst humans. If anything most we can say is they may have learned to not have to unleash their elemental powers through their mouths since they have learned to channel it through their hands. One way to distinguish them may not be wings but they would at least have the horns and tail.
I think I've seen one or maybe a couple anime (girl) characters that have dragon features so if Hoyo wanted to do a crossover that might actually make (more) sense (than aloy)
Maybe they would have subtle differences in most cases, like npcs or characters with reptilian eyes. (Specifically snake ones since people tend to associate those with reptile eyes)
Perhaps some could have a scaly like skin
Or indeed, dragon horns, unique ways of using elemental power or something else unexpected
