If you think about it, this whole 4.8 quest has been a big minecraft reference. We got spawned in a random location in a random world. And we had to go through all this quest to get to the "end" of the world. And we had to go through a portal to get to the "end" of the world. And there we had to fight a blocky dragon, which is the ender dragon. And meanwhile in this world, most things look like blocks and those toy people are also blocky. And nilou's magic is basically a crafting table. There are definitely way more references that i as a minecraft noob did not understand

The house actually is the same as in "The Real Annapausis" in Fontaine (as in 1:1 model), and to get out you need to find flowers to blow up wind while in "The Real Annapausis", after completing the quest, dandelion appear at the fence entrance, so both have wind related flowers too
While the stairs one possibly being Yugioh Abridged is really funny, I think that it might actually be a reference to the one scene from Howl's Moving Castle where they're walking up the stairs

Yeah, the Red Light Green Light game itself isn't a reference to Squid Game, it's more what happens in the game and how it's set up that is a reference to Squid Game, the toy being the ghost is wearing yellow while the other toy people are wearing blue and the first time the ghost turns and we have to freeze, there's the toy person rushing towards the ghost and tripped in the process, which that same thing happens in the scene in Squid Game as you saw in the clip shown here, except the guy in the Squid Game scene didn't trip over, he was shot and killed.
Another thing to add to the Squid Game reference, other versions of this mini game also has the ghost shooting glue at the other toy people to make them stuck, just like the Squid Game scene where every contestant that are caught moving are shot to death.
funny how around a few days before the event or a week or two before the event, my dad had me watch Forrest Gump so it was a funny coincidence for me :) also the second I heard the Narrator I immediately interpted it as a Stanley Parable reference. this was my very first event I experienced and I had a lot of fun!
It's pretty normal for people not to know that this squid game reference isn't the first time genshin is doing this. Because people don't explore. And most of the time the least explored areas are the areas added near the end of an region. The other time that genshin did this red light green light reference was in the underground/underwater area added in 4.6 (i forgot the name already😅) and it was with a flower and a bunch of squids (ironic that there were squids in a squid game reference)

a quest pops up in the last island where you have to take a light bulb from a lighthouse to the highest part of the island. It goes on and on and then you follow a star to get there.

I noticed that the Traveler and Paimon had a more comedic duo relationship in events for a few patches now, compared to their previously more straitlaced relationship. The style of the events also triggers a bit more nostalgia and emotion-provoking stuff than just a story continuation. A style used often in HI3.
