Some Tips! Units will be stunned if they are hit by a ship. Pikesmen can't move and attack at once. Pikesmen have a longer melee range than all other units. Pikesmen are better with shields than swordsman. You can replenish armies by sending them to houses. I hope these helped.
they aren't just big but also adequitly armoured for their stature . . . . whitch is why they can seriosly smash up your army if you're not reacting fast enough . . . whitch becomes much more obious later in the game
17:20 technically, it'll repay itself within 9 islands, as the upgrade only gives +1 increment, as opposed to 3 coins per island (which you got 2 coins per island even before upgrading it to level 3)
Tips: Pikemen are immortal on stairs. Don't deploy all your troops on 1 island. Max level archers and 2nd lvl. shields are perfect for defending a small island. If you have an island where all your houses are at the top, you can use just pikemen. You can regenerate troops in the houses(it takes time though). Pikemen can't attack if they are on the move, they have to stand their ground. The storm won't kill you, it just locks the islands.
Don't skip so many islands, you miss out on so many coins and you might just regret that later. You can safely fight on islands that will be swallowed by the storm after that turn.
@@nepesaurio they are! but you need to upgrade them, or they are useless. I haven't yet won a campain, I'm pretty sure my first attempts are lost causes 'cause I got in the end and my team is not strong enough, but I have no coins left
@@gisela_oliveira I have one fully upgraded with extra units and one normal fully upgraded, they are like shotgund at close range and even drop them of the boats before they land
Some tips for you! Troops can be healed by putting them in houses If archers attack shields from above it's easier for your other troops to kill them Keep pikemen away from ships landing as this will force them to break formation Pikemen are great for defending chokepoints Swordmen are great for chasing archers
Don’t use your swordsman against the big bois unless you have to instead use the pikes and archers as they seem to do especially good against the big bois.
Usually when I watch matt, it's a game I've never played before. but, having played this one, it's the first time I've had the chance to question so much of what he's doing haha
Pro tip: To use less commanders per round try using countering units. Normal enemies: come in large groups so use Archers. Shield enemies: use 2 commanders, they can only defend from 1 direction. Large enemies: use pikes. Archer enemies: use shields. And so on... Remember: pikes cannot attack wile moving unless you buy the upgrade, so if you want to eliminate an enemy that is moving use swords.
Lvl 3 archers are pretty good against shields, they don't do damage but the knockback of the arrows can throw shield bearers off the boat. You just gotta make sure that your archers are at sea level, like when you used them against the big people.
3:50 you can take it because you have a spare island for backup and your units can teleport to a colonised island if you get eaten after going into the storm
Hey there! I have played the game a few times, and I would like to give you some tips. 1. Every unit has an ability to flee (blue). By selecting enemy ship you can send your commander (if needed) into safety, but you can’t use him again in that particular battle. 2. Every unit also have a ability to replenish (green). By selecting any house, you can sent your unit to gain strength and recover fallen soldiers. It takes some time but it is definitely worth it. 3. Archers are better while on the beach. They don’t even have to kill enemy, they can just push him into the water (works also on enemies with shield). 4. It is way better to plan on your commander usage. You don’t have to use all of your commanders, even one unit can do it (although it is hard). I personally recommend using from two to three units. Later on you’ll be able to protect two or more islands in one turn. I think that is all for now. Love your channel and farewell friend!
Hey RCE, you can use the archers from the beach to shoot the shield guys off their boat into the water, if they shoot from the side of the boat. This works on any enemies as well.
Tip: archers are actually less accurate from high ground! They shoot best when they are ground level with the enemies and have a straight shot at them. I suggest placing them behind your infantry or pikemen.
Get archers to shoot at boats from the side if possible, and let the knockback push the attackers into the water. Pikemen only use their spears when standing still, when they're moving they can't attack or defend. Pikemen also have a bit of extra reach, and are murderously effective when they're poking downwards at an enemy's side as they're climbing a narrow path up the hill - sometimes the best position for a pikeman isn't at the end of the path but on the side of it.
6:03 I know that am late but I think that you could have solo cleared Skillowik with a single veteran pike commander. The low number of enemies, combined with a narrow choke point and lack of archers make an ideal fighting environment. If they do break through, just retreat and pike charge. Just a little friendly advice for future play throughs. ;)
Hey! You can beat more islands if you don’t use all of your commanders on every island. You can just use 1 or 2 if it’s enough to beat it and then you can get more coins! 1 group of pikeman can usually hold a single ramp up by themselves
RCE your archers can do damage to shield guys once the shield guy is in combat. They can also knock them off the boat. Pikemen are great against heavy units. Eventually you'll come across two new enemie types (there may be more its been a year and a half since i last played but i did reinstall this game today) just dont let your pikemen break formation or they'll fold. You can heal units in building but be careful with the timing because it takes a minute.I really want to tell you the two new types i ran into but i dont want to spoil it.
You might think it is best to briefly put your archers as close to their targets as possible (and that does have a degree of value for the beginning-level archers), but from what I can see it's actually best to position them where theyll be firing as close to perpendicularly to the incoming boat's line of travel as possible, to knock the bad guys off. Remember, you dont have to kill those enemies, just knock them off their boats, because in Bad North water=death.
Pike no charge, if pike charge pike get chopped, get pike charge skill or STOP CHARGING WITH PIKES, if you don’t you will never be allowed to make strongest shape in a game again
It made my laugh so hard when he was trying to say Arfaklettur "arfekalater arflekter alfekatar of that place" also how he said the names for the rest of the video so many laughs make me laugh no matter how i feel great work keep it up love the videos!!
If u use ring of power on arches that have the perk for added nock back. That unit of 16 archers will solo any boat of any troop type before it lands. If u have that and 3 other archer units u can win vs any map before any boats land. The only challenge is it forces u to use the other unit types because of the unit fatigue
Hey Matt, I think that the pikesmen can attack from higher ground like where the archers are on the mountain, and you can also move units into houses to recouperate
Your level 3 archers despite not able to deal damage to enemy infantry can still knock them out of their boats and into the water just place them on the beach at an angle of where the boat is gonna land and you'll be hearing the sound of plunking water alot. And like many others have said pikes can't fight while moving so just keep them at choke points and you'll do just fine and don't place units in front of the boats when they land they will stun your troops making unnecessary losses.
Not sure if it has been brought up yet but you can restore a depleted unit by sending them into a house. It takes a little bit but they come back out at full unit count.
You keep using the plunge ability, but remember your archers have that volley ability! Those large groups of weenies should get decimated by that. At least, that's what I'm thinking.
You like some of these cheaper games. I watched another RUclipsr who played Stacklands. It is a cheap game at less than $5 on Steam. It is a pretty cool... village survival card game I guess would be the best way to put it. You buy booster packs with coins (in game... there are no microtransaction) and either use the resources for food, building, or sell them for more booster packs. Eventually you can set up mines and farms and building to process the resources. You can also grow the population. You will have monsters to fight in some of the higher end boosters and some artifacts and events that will trigger MUCH stronger enemies. The thing is if you restart the game you still have all the recipes for crafting and such as those boss monsters can wipe out your whole village if you are not prepared. There is a trick to the game... use the pause as there is a lot of stuff you can do while paused, like move around inventory, use the trader, sell stuff, buy and open boosters... It is the fighting, building, mining, and crafting that take time. There is also an island to travel to to unlock a lot of new resources, but unlike the main land, food spoils here (do to the heat I think). The game can get a bit grindy and understand for some reason you can not craft helmets. You have to get them from fights. And to understand the combat. Each weapon has stats that you can not see in the game, but if you pause there is a cardtopia or something that lists what each thing can do. You just see the level and its special ability, but they have things like +1 defense, +2 speed, +1 damage... and a special ability might be 10% chance to stun. Some can increase hit points too. The other thing is you do not need a recipe to actually craft things. You can just try things (or look them up) and I am not sure you even need to unlock the island to go to it, you just need to put a villager on a boat. The big thing is juggling the number of card. There is storage and such that can increase the number of cards you can have, but at the end of each turn (moon cycle) the villagers are fed. You need 2 food for adults and 1 for children and if you are short... they die. Any cards above your card limit must be sold before you can start the next moon cycle.
