My fiancé's dad has a 97 Ford F250 HD and it still has the OBD I connecter in the back left corner of the engine compartment next to the brake booster. The ICM is also there. It was fun trying to get scan data out of it.
I have a 95 bronco and i had crank no start and it turned out to be the pip sensor in the distributor i used a circuit tester light to figure it out. Im not a mechanic and don't have access to that scanner tool. I went to junkyard and grabbed a distributor off a 96 f150 because to change pip sensor u gotta press the gear off distributor to get it apart
You always have to confirm distrubutor rotation on old Fords. The oil pump cam lock up and twist the drive. Once it twists, it gets shorter and falls out of the drive gear
@KyleGreen-n1x That goes without saying but Maybe next time ill actually show it spinning. I've only ever had that happen once in 20 years. With a distributor not spinning.
Unless you are a magician that was the fastest diagnostic I ever saw. Nothing up my sleeve, Presto! Your customer is only asking for diagnosis not to repair the truck!?! Seems like a big mistake he should have your help to replace the distributor and get everything done in one day although it may take a while to get a replacement distributor, idk.
I am a magician! Poof the power of editing out wasted time checking harnesses to confirm there good and reading wiring diagrams without talking that nobody wants to watch. I do what I can with the footage I have.

Oh and should have mentioned that it can shear gear teeth off.

There's a few gotchas on old Fords, like distributor shaft isn't rotating!
@JacksAutoDiagnostics
Only seen it once in 20 years. Im Hoping to see it again just to be able to show it on video.

If your not a big fan of that little scope I’ll take it off your hands 🤣
Everything is real quick. Nothing quick here
