Made me realise just how out of touch I am these days. Post 2010, the only one I got was the AC/DC one, though I recognised quite a few. Better at identifying RHCP, than the specific song.

I'll give myself 36.5, the .5 is because I knew the 2023 song was from 72 Seasons, but I couldn't narrow down which one it was.

I get that this is all supposed to be super popular normie stuff but its still extremely disappointing to go through the entire 90s with no death metal, no black metal, nothing that isn't alt rock radio basically. Same with the 2000s. No death metal, no black n roll, not even any thrash revival. So many important evolutions in the metal sound completely ignored in favor of featuring radio rock that everyone already knows. Just kinda disappointing.

The beauty of metal music lies in its incredible DIVERSITY. It's astonishing how one can get lost in the vast array of subgenres: Death, Black, Power, Prog, and many more. Each of these subgenres boasts a multitude of bands, offering a unique experience for fans.
Please do your homework next time
PD: It's a shame to not include Slayer

22/54 I did terrible, but that's because Metal isn't really my genre. I kind of thought I'd do good on the 80's with the hair/glam bands, but it turns out my best was 2000's and 2010's. Am kind of surprised no AC/DC or KISS. Also, a little surprised Skillet wasn't on here for late 2000's and through the 2010's.

@@metalzonemt-2 AC/DC is more Hard Rock, but back in the 70's that was considered Metal. KISS has been considered as hair metal, but again to me they're Hard Rock.

hmmm, so Dr. Feelgood by Motley Crue and Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit is now Metal? I checked this out just to see how many songs were actually Metal. Some nailed it, some were alternative, not Metal, and some were nor even close.

Excellent examples till 1993. It seems that in 1994 your metal turned into rap, and about 2000 it became alternative rock.
Where is Slayer, Venom, Danzig, Samael, Bathory, Amorphis, Paradise Lost, Opeth, the whole death, doom, black metal scene? Prog metal, gothic, symphonic?
