  • Purim is absolute the most fun Jewish holiday! We recount the story of how Queen Ester saved the Jewish people from the evil Haman. We celebrate my baking Hamantaschen, getting dressed up in costume, and giving our mishloach manot.

    I am a christian but I love the story of Esther. She was clearly used by God to save the Jewish people from Haman.

    I’m Sephardic from Morocco and Algeria and we don’t make Hamantaschen. We make fazuelos/haman’s ears

    Your videos are very informative. I just subscribed to your channel. Do you have any resources for those of us that are new to Judaism? There is so much to learn. I really love your videos.

    Do you have a video about the difference of those two books? I would like to learn more about that subject.

      I have a video about what the Torah is. The Book of Ester, I gave you a short summary of it here. It's just one story. To find out more about all the books of the Jewish bible, look up Tanakh.

      @@EverydayJewishMom I thought I knew what the Torah was until this video and info about the Tanakh. Thanks I will look into it now. Happy Purim.

    I have teens and over the last few years we have been trying to incorporate more age relatable activities, any suggestions(other then synagogue activities) for home traditions? Food and scripture is the easiest to incorporate, but what else?

      Tzedakah (charitable giving) and Tikkun Olam (healing the world) Get them involved in causes they care about. There is nothing more Jewish that working toward a more perfect world. It’s our obligation.

    WHEN is Purim this year?

    To be clear, am I correct to think Purim isn’t a God-commanded feast but a Jewish pop holiday?

    • @EverydayJewishMom
      @EverydayJewishMom  2 месяца назад

      We believe that we are commanded to celebrate this holiday. If your question is whether it's in the Torah, no. It's from The Book of Esther which is one of the books of the Jewish bible (Tanakh).

    I beg to differ. The Torah is not "separate from" the Tanach. The Torah is the first five books of, the first division of the Tanach. Purim Sameach.
