I'm an ol' lady from N.C. (born and bred) and I found (heard her for the first time) here on YT about 5 years ago. There are words to describe this young lady's talent. Type in most anything and you'll find she's covered it and made you feel you never want to hear the original artist again. Her breath control is super natural and you'll find yourself trying to breathe for her when her transitions and sustained phrases are simply effortless to her. EFFORTLESS is the word used most about her talent. She never had any formal training and that in itself is why she's so extraordinary. She sings sitting down just as powerfully as if she were standing. She has sat on her bed, cross-legged, and sang "My Immortal" (by Evanescence) like it was her own song. She is a wonderful story-teller while she sings with the very emotions the lyrics were meant to mean. Her broadway performances (Stages Sessions) done at home during the pandemic, will make your jaw drop!! Yes, it's true....the Phillipines do have a lot of great singers. And that too, is an understatement. But Morissette Amon must be set apart even from the more well known older divas (and younger ones) who've been singing for years. I think I’ve never heard an exceptional and versatile singer like Mori, so good in so many different musical genres. Unfortunately, the US mainstream vocalists usually don't dare to venture into genres other than those that made them famous. Incidentally, Indonesia and the Philippines are not small countries: the Indonesian population is almost 300 million, the fourth in the world!
