  • This video shows how to set up the Ozark Trail one person tent cot. Throughout the assembly process I share tips along the way as I discover the various features that make the instant set up and tear down quick and easy. I did mange to get this raised up in close to a minute, but that was only the screened portion. It's the rain fly cover that actually takes some extra time. I include some tips on how to attach the rain fly that will help you get your tent set up quick.

Some Observations Not Included In The Review Video
    1. There doesn't seem to be any type of manual locking device that needs to be set in order for the support legs of the cot to lock in place.
    2. There are some small storage areas under the cot and inside that I didn't mention.
The tips that I share in this video will help you get your Ozark Trail 1- Person Instant Tent Cot With Rainfly set up fast and easy making your camping experience more enjoyable. I will be doing a more comprehensive review of this product once I have actually taken it out camping.

Appreciate you more for the set up attempt without reading instructions first. Your dedication to real world situations comes through because you know none of us would read the paperwork first either.
Nice that it keeps you up off the ground.

I’ve owned this cot tent for a few years and it has seen a lot of use in all 4 seasons. I never buy Walmart brand camping gear but I gotta say this cot tent is well made for the price. One tip, lube the zippers and lube any frame piece that moves. I do this once in the summer and winter. I also have a Kamp rite but prefer the cheaper Ozark Trails cot tent. Packs up much smaller and sits a littler higher off the ground. The base is rock solid no need to worry if this is stable. Last item. I’ve had this in long hard rainstorms with no leaks and I’ve never needed to seam seal or coat the rain fly.

Hey JC just a recommendation. Get a can or two of Coleman seam seal. Set it up again and spray seal all your sewn seams from the inside to help protect against water intrusion. Nice vid again. 👍🏻

You need to do the rain fly starting at the bottom. I have the same tent and camped in this a dozen times. I have a Camp Rite XL as well and the Ozark Trail is the best designed Cot Tent I have ever used. Good video but really need to follow the instructions if you want to do a 60 second tutorial or unboxing.

Get ya some of this seam sealer and do every seam on the fly.Just rub it on and get it into where the thread goes through good, that's the main spot for leaks.
I been using it for more than 20 yrs on my North Face tent.
Down there in FL on those warm muggy days you may want to forget the fly and just tie a string between 2 trees and throw a tarp over it so you have the max airflow.
