I've never gotten the hate Amber gets. By all accounts, she had every right to be upset with Mark. He kept failing to attend events that were important to her, was given plenty of second chances to make up for it, kept failing her, and then only revealed his identity to her as a way to get out of trouble. In the episode where the campus gets attacked, Amber calls Mark a coward in public despite knowing he was trying to save lives and can't defend himself. That is an unbelievablely shitty thing to do.

I've never gotten the hate Amber gets. By all accounts, she had every right to be upset with Mark. He kept failing to attend events that were important to her, was given plenty of second chances to make up for it, kept failing her, and then only revealed his identity to her as a way to get out of trouble. Anyone would be pissed at their partner if they were in her shoes.
The only thing I don't like is the confusing-as-hell decision to have her know his secret identity before he told her. It would have made much more sense had they just left her clueless about it and then still get upset at him. Just an odd and unnecessary inclusion by the writers.
Okay, let me explain. That "only thing i don't like" you mentioned? THAT is the ticket. You've chosen to list that as just a confusing decision by the writers and not as something Amber did in the show. That's why you don't get it. It's not just confusing, it is the exact thing that makes Amber an unredeemable cunt. That one tiny change.
The writers had a collective brainfart and thought that subverting expectations would be great during the reveal scene. They didn't consider that this means Amber was actively sabotaging Mark during the ReAnimen fight. If she knew he was invincible, than everything she did there was a gigantic dick move that put lives in danger.
They were dating for a month not for a year. And there are lots of valid reasons to not tell a random person that you are a superhero
@@eduardopantoja9115 If that had been all, Amber wouldn't be nearly as hated. While that is an unreasonable demand, it's a perfectly understandable reaction for her to have in an emotional moment. (If she didn't know.)
But that's the sorta thing you'd reflect on or talk to a friend about and realize you weren't being reasonable. Then have another talk with your partner.

Like, Invincible is in parts about what would realistically happen if all these superhero stories took place in a world more similar to our own. And, realistically, it just isn't right to keep such a huge secret hidden from someone who you want to be in a serious relationship. No one would be happy to find out that the person that they've been seeing have been keeping it hidden from them that they're doing something that puts both theirs and your life in danger.
Realistically, the only moral options a superhero would have in this situation is to either tell their partner straight away, exclusively date other heroes, or just don't date at all.
@@creamdeluxe5655 How is it morally superior to tell someone your secret identity right away? If that information gets out it could put the lives of you and your family in danger. It’s completely irresponsible. And one to six months is not enough time to build that kind of trust. You wouldn’t marry someone in that after one to six months, so why would you, in that same timeframe, be completely fine with just tossing around that kind of life or death information to anyone you start dating?
