    I think part of my problem with Payday 3’s armor is that it punished the player for merely existing. Since all enemies are hitscan, there’s no way to avoid taking some damage. Since damage is unavoidable, you will lose armor whether you are good or not. In Payday 2, armor regenerated so players weren’t punished for being careful. In Payday 3, players can’t avoid being damaged permanently.

    pd3 armor is great on paper (i like the idea of resource drain being the limiting factor when it comes to heist length) but in game it just feels bad lmao

    If they want to fix this, then I think they should just completely revert the system to what it was in PD2 and PD:TH

    the problem of armour in pd3 is that it punishes you for having fun
    20 bucks for 1 map is a scamm
    And the lack of content💀

    Yeah I hate The Limited armor idea because a lot of my favorite heists in Payday 2 where the heists that were like endurance runs like the one where you cook meth for as long as you could

    At this point, PD3 is just gonna be bandaged up with so many features from PD2 and PDTH that it’ll likely just end up looking like a remastered mishmash of both games instead of its own unique product. 😔

      you wanna talk about unique product??? they fking outsourced EVERYTHING, from the ui to the npc models
      the mechanics are just plain bad and untested, making armor a second health bar is not unique, oh and dont get me started on the overkill weapon, they fking stole everything from cod warzone and slapped payday 2's assault on top of it and called it a day

    In my personal opinion, I think it would be a better idea for Starbreeze to entirely ditch the entire armour system as it currently stands and change it to the armour system presented in the adaptive armour. Most people find the current armour system unfun, and while I do appreciate the idea you give in the video, I think it wouldn't change most people's views towards the system as it currently stands.

      It’s tough. Go for the system legacy players are used to and enjoy, or go for the system those players dislike but is true to the vision of the game?
      I think at this point appeasement of the small audience still concerned with Payday 3 is unfortunately the best decision. I like the video OP’s suggestion a lot more than the band aid of adaptive armor though.

    Adaptive Armor has 2 downs, The Light Ballistic Vest has 4 downs, the lightest vest is 1 plate and 4 downs. The lightest plate is probably gonna be hard meta and my guess is that Adaptive Armor is gonna cause people to make absurdly bad decisions when playing.
    The players who already run 1/2 plate set ups, are pretty much never gonna die with Adaptive Armor. Since all of them already take full advantage of plates to gate their health, carefully min-max their resources and also are already very effective at dealing with specials like the dozer without using overkill weapons. Via the Ziv Commando, Mosconisher (nickname for the Mosconi) and FSA 12-Gauge, on top of the R900 pretty much one shotting everything but dozers. The SA is the overall best gun still, 3 of the SMGs do the same exact thing at the same level of efficiency (shred everything but dozers).
    Honestly instead of armor repair kits, they should've just added full kevlar plate drops. Killing a dozer to get an ARK or a techie to get the same thing, does not feel rewarding. Its like getting slapped in the nuts with a comically large spoon with gold spray paint. Adrenaline is cool and is pretty much just Overhealth Mechanics from like TF2 & Overwatch.
    Having 7 extra skills to mess around with is gonna make Adaptive Armor a must pick. Since you can just run the skill that makes a plate give s upon breaking, mix it with Medic Aced & combat medic and you're an unkillable revival machine. On top of just being able to go pick up an ARK to full repair your last plate and then touch an armor bag to get back to max. Hostage Trading is gonna become possibly useful on heist like Cook-Off, since someone can just trade swats before it goes final assault to get dozens if not hundreds of ARKs. Making it impossible to actually die on that heist in theory, unless you decide to custody swap to get downs back.
    Adaptive Armor is gonna make bad players, play even worse. While just reward the people who are good at PayDay 3 exponentially more and to an unfair extent.

    The chunk doesn’t regenerate if it breaks (which I thought the whole point was for it to be like pd2) imo they needa go back to payday 2s system. It worked. That’s gonna mean fixing the core systems of the game tho.

    The armor system is just bad lol... It doesnt fit a horde shooter with hitscan enemies at all.

      It's something I should've brought up in the video, but I genuinely feel that the armour system in PD3 just misunderstands entirely why it existed in PDTH/PD2. In Left 4 Dead you only have pure health, but the zombies can only melee attack you or have INCREDIBLY telegraphed projectile attacks that you can dodge, with the whole thing being that you can just shoot the zombies before they get to you and you'll be fine. In PDTH/PD2 though, you can't really "dodge" bullets, so you're given the armour to act as a buffer period where you can shoot them. PD3 armour is dumb and I hate it but I hate even more that they're not even trying to do anything about it.

      @@cookiedou3 yeah I agree that what they are trying to do feels like they are too scared to fully change course now, at least it's going to make the game so much more enjoyable for me and probably many other people.
      I myself have already spoken my mind out on the issue on the pd3 discord but idk how you'd access it since I'm banned there... In short my account was compromised lol... Anyways, I think that while the armour system is bad, clean slate and adaptive armour (especially when combod) completely and utterly don't fit into the attrition that the game was designed around, for better or for worse.

    yeah its kinda stupid they just turn pd3 into a fancy pd2 is really disappointing but what they originally had in mind for pd3 wasnt any better this game was just doomed from the beginning they just shouldve kept on milking the actually good game and create fun content for a fun game...

    The armor system is literally the only thing for me that makes this game unplayable. No regen with hitscan enemies and levels that ramp up the difficulty the longer they go…….. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? Just revert the armor to PD2. Ya know…… the game that has a higher player count then this one, and that’s only on steam. Literally more people playing a game on one platform than a game on all platforms combined.

    i don't mind the adaptive armour as it actually allows people to have build variety , since the update i've started seeing turrets and ammo bags in overkill.
