I drank for 25 years. I was good at it. I walked away from it. I just got tired of it. I haven't drank in about six years now. Stay the course my friend, stay focused and on point, and you will do just fine. Expert tip: Make sure you stay hydrated and drink lots of water.
Doug just to encourage you, I drank from the age of 14 till the age of 47. I also experimented with other drugs. Thank God I was able to quit all of that, not bragging just encouraging. God is the one who helped me to do it. I gave it over to him. Not preaching, just telling you my experience. I also gave up the cigarettes which I was heavily addicted to. I am diabetic so I'm trying to eat better as you are as we see on some of your videos, so you can do it if I can do it anybody can. Keep up the great work my brother love you be encouraged.
Good for you, Doug! Best decision you can make. As you said, there's nothing good about alcohol. I quit 3 years ago, like you after watching a podcast where they debunked all of the so called good reasons to drink. At the time I was feeling awful from drinking, and was spending more on liquor than on groceries, and was starting to drink when I got up in the morning (this was during the first phase of Covid and I had just retired. I now hike 10 miles a day, am on the Carnivore Diet and feel the best I've ever felt at 72. God was gracious to me and it was easy to quit because I felt so crummy and wanted to get healthy...that was the motivation. All the best to you and God Bless you!
Congratulations and good on you, sir! Better in all aspects, especially in regard to your diabetes. My brother is under hospice care and won’t make it to his 59th birthday thanks to his indulgence in alcohol. It’s a horrible way to die. Stay strong!
15 years sober I was a functioning alcoholic but I hit my bottom one thing I've learned I had to stop drinking for myself not for my wife or kids for me first and foremost
I gave up Maryjane I never was a drinker I saw no need in it. All it did was cost money I didn’t have and bad eating habits. Once I stopped I started back having dreams again.
