Things go sideways and the Hammond blows up with Daniel and Sam on the ship; but not before Daniel beams Amos down to the planet with the Ancient device. I always thought that a great show for a spin off would have been based with Humans from an entirely different planet, run one season all by itself. This allows you to build up the characters and establish their planets history which could be anything that they wanted it to be. It doesn't have to follow our own planets history exactly, and it should not. The second season has their version of SG-1 run into one of our off world teams on a planet. That would also allow cameos from the shows characters without being weird. And if you base the above story on the content of this video, they could easily encounter the Free Jaffa Nation out there, perhaps even before they encounter the people of Earth.

Stargate was not just about if humans could be similar to the gods, it was about what kind of gods we would become, it was a warning, about arrogance, racism, injustice, not only having the evil gods defeated, but showing the Jaffa themselve in danger of becoming like them, it was not only about technology evolving, but about us evolving, spiritual evolution, ascension, the entire hippie thing, more empathy, intuition and understanding of universal oneness

SG Origins was much better than the entire SGU spin off. SGA was a success because they replicated SG1 success formula. SG has lots of potential, the Asgard core could tell us the struggles of the previous Alliance and guide the new Alliance in their struggles. Races that managed to survive the Ori onslaught, the Gadmeer would be very inclined to join and help humans, also the Hebridians with their tolerance and multi-cultural approach. Lots of unexplored races such the Unas, Reol, Reetou, even the isolationists such as A'T'TRR, Neraida or Ohna, so many things left open to explore. But heroes are as good as their villains, a new nemesis pantheon is needed and an arch nemesis final boss.
no no it wasn’t other then some niche lore taken from the show, its mostly tied to the movie, also the first people instead of the us air force threw the game were some american civilians under duress from nazies they made nazis the pioneers 🙄
Not really. Doesn't add anything to the story we know, some things happen there and then we kind of have the red light of MIB to forget all... It's kind of disappointing IMHO.
Thanks folks. Looks like I shan’t be bothering. Another missed opportunity. Watched only the first season of Universe because it went against what Stargate is about. Such a pisser that most modern Sci-fi is a massive joke.
Instead of the Jaffa reverse-engineering different Gould tech to be usable by them too, they should make it simpler, like a new modified version of Tritonin that Gould devices then recognize as Naquadah in the blood. Then they could easily find new caches and tech along the way that they can still use. Maybe minor Gould out there start modifying their tech to counter it, so its not "always" usable.
I think the biggest problem with Origins wasn't that it was unconnected, but rather than no one watched it. Realistically, how many people subscribed to a Stargate only subscription service? I certainly wasn't going to pay to watch one show, and I already owned the others on DVD. Every company thinking they can have their own slice of the streaming-pie is the problem here. Too many different services without enough worthwhile content. Sure, it sounds appealing to take the profit all for yourself instead of licensing things out to Netflix etc., but you have to have enough to make it worthwhile for the users to pay - to recoup the costs of developing and promoting your own service. Paramount+ has a much larger volume of content than MGM's SG only service, and even then most people just consider it as a service for Star Trek content, which still hasn't done well enough to keep shows like Prodigy alive.
Any Stargate is good Stargate at this point. I miss it. Plus the original actors are getting older and we are running out of time to be able to connect a new show with the old. Hell Im even okay with a reboot at this point.
I think a Jaffa centered show would have been a mistake. They really aren't that interesting. These plotlines could have made a good addition to a new Stargate series, but an SG team from Earth would still need to be the main protagonists. It's the same reason why a Star Trek series about the Klingons rather than the Federation is a bad idea... at the end of the day, who really cares about the Klingons or the Jaffa? There's nothing at stake for the audience, who will necessarily be Human beings from Earth who want to see Human characters they can relate to having amazing adventures, not a bunch of aliens all the time
I would much rather want goauld centered show, pre humanoid host era, unas host era, discovery of human hosts and the beginning of tokra. Their first interactions with asgard etc. Maybe even pre ascention anubis as a villain.
Let's be brutally honest here. The franchise is dead. People want more. But they don't want stories that don't work. They don't want cast that are not the originals. That is why no matter how much pitch Chris does, it won't float. The Ancients might have a snow balls chance. Because they were tech. advanced. With characters that could de-evolve and be less rigid if mixed with the people of earth. But that would have to be backed by a personality like Jason. And the $ needed for that would be too steep I think. So, again, fantasy to think there is a recipe now that could relaunch anything from this franchise on these levels. The SGU window of opportunity sailed by, what chance could there possibly be for any other stories from the SG1 or SGA ? People that don't care about the original cast and the visuals were too few, which is why that origins thing died fast.
Yes it's a shame that when they made the Third series SG Universe they didn't incorporate the whole Stargate universe which could have been the best of the ideas seeing episodes of SG1 the new free Jaffa stories, Atlantis and even what happened to be SGU and any new ideas not realised, but unfortunately wasn't to be
I would love to watch the Free Jaffa series!!! Origins could have really taken off with nice sets, costumes, and visuals but unfortunately it was just a bit too corny. I was hoping they would do a bra'tac origins story.
Even if they began pre-production in January by the time it hits the screen, nearly as much time would have gone by as between the last episode of TOS and the first episode of TNG. You are looking at a new audience, can't bank on boomers and millennials alone.
Wakanda is mostly a really bad example of "technologically and culturally advanced". Even a civilization based on advanced magic couldn't be expected to get so far with that primitive culture, much less science and mostly an advanced energy source / construction material. The Jaffa could plausibly advance culturally in a few centuries, but 10 years later... They'd still be a slave culture with somewhat more power than before. Democracy isn't even a form of governance that's suited to efficient progress. It'd be more interesting to show the Jaffa being a mess... And slowly maturing. Although them going 65% evil would be a more realistic expectation. ... Overall though, this sounds more like a mini-series than a new show.
i want to see his Stargate series i want to know of the Jaffa origins and the Amazon mythos as well new beings entities who knows the discovery of the real FURLINGS heck STARGATE is getting more and more followers i say go for the gold Mr. Christopher Judge thread that needle and shatter the barrier and even further down the line they might even continue Universe in a whole new story maybe Stargate the light beyond the universe.
IMHO Origins problem was not the lack of connection to the rest of SG, but that it was kinda boring and all CGI looked as if a 5 xear old had rendered it on an Windows 3.11 Pc from the 90s. Would love to see more Jaffa storis tho
As more and more time passes it becomes extremely unlikely that a new Stargate serie happens in the format and story we all grew up with. SG1 cast members are all aging and Amazon doesnt seem very interested to continue the story made by Wright, so .... yeah so much for that sadly. Im fairly sure Amazon didnt buy the Stargate franchise just to let it die so something is bound to come up but it'll be a brand new reboot of the franchise with no connection with whats been done previously with it would be my guess.
No thanks, because the next Stargate has to take place in another galaxy. Like in a galaxy where the Furlings fled the Goa Uld, taking with them as many humans as possible.
Meh, it doesn't really sound that interesting to me. Kind of like how Michael Dorn spent decades trying to get his own spin off about Klingons. And let's not forget Origins was complete garbage....and THAT'S what they went with?
Well I watch it for sure but I dont think it gather enough audience to keep it running after so many years. Stargate need something strong to come back. Star Trek did it I believe they can do it too. Sci fi is back on track hope Stargate return before it goes away like before.
Yeah, just like the "joe flannigan almost bought stargate atlantis and gave us more seasons". Beaten to death, doesn't change the fact that this franchise has been dead for 10+ years.
AAAAAAAAAAA stop talking about origins!!! i haven't cringed as hard as when i watched that drek no respect for the lore, sets worth less then the catering they must've had and acting on par with a highschool play. I can tolerate a lot of artistic freedoms, but respect for the source material must be present. It clearly was not. (every production has a minimum run cost, if you can't hit that number just don't make it. have some dignity.) therefore it shall not have ours. Please do not mention them again. They're like the netflix dragonball or death note movies. shameful blips in a story's history that shall be forgotten and burried.
Up until recently, I had little faith in Hollywood/Amazon/Disney in general. I'd been saying for years that this woke crap was destroying every franchise, and I was so glad Stargate was left unmolested. It seems that some in Hollywood/Disney/Amazon have started to see the light now, and the boat is righting itself. When Disney made the announcement that they were taking that woke crap out of one the upcoming Pixar movies and leaving it to parents to educate their kids on such topics, I actually stopped breathing for a minute. As much as I'd love to see a new Stargate show, I wouldn't watch a reboot or reimagining for a modern audience. If it's true that the boat is finally righting itself, and Hollywood/Disney/Amazon have finally started waking up, then it could finally be time to continue (not reboot or reimagine) the journey of Stargate. They will absolutely need to get Rob and at least 2 of the other better former executive producers involved (Brad, Joe, Paul, Peter, and Jon). We need to know what happened to the Destiny crew, even if it means finding out they all died and the Destiny was lost, and we need to know what they ultimately did with Atlantis. I wrote my own story that involved Carter, McKay, Rush, and Eli figuring out a way to repair an Ori Supergate and getting a new Icarus Class ship (built from the ground up with Tau'ri, Asgard/Vanir, and Lantean/Ori tech and designs) through said Gate to the Destiny so it could be repaired/upgraded. Then, both ships continue the mission together with Rush and Eli in charge of the Destiny and Telford and Scott in charge of the Icarus. Young died somehow, or was sent back to Earth (I always disliked him).
Stargate Origins would have been great if the writing and acting were better and MGM dropped more money into its production. The Wakanda Stargate thing, while intriguing, would have been a very, very bad idea.
Just watching the bullshit that the jaffa had going on in seasons 9-10, I was already pretty sick of anything involving them. I would have no interest in watching that show. It was like watching the star wars prequals.
I just hope that Amazon, should they indeed make another series, won't Stargate the way they did the LOTR franchise, they have to remain faithful to the universe and the franchise. I haven't even bothered watching season 2 of Rings of Power. They should also not reboot Stargate, that would be dumb, imagine if Star Trek had done that in the 80s. They also shouldn't make it be political, make it appeal to everyone.
@@MrRaisinBranoh great, you're yet another of those "if it has a stargate sticker on it, I'm a fan" right? Liked that origins-disaster too didn't you?
I wasn't a fan of Christopher Judge written Episodes, which mainly involved the Jaffa. I highly recommend looking up those episode & watching before commenting. They were to "off" from the feel of Stargate (SG1) at the time, Christopher Judge gave his character to much dialog & the settings felt focused to give him a focused pedestal to stand on in the series away from SG1 team. BUT he did try to push a lot of missing Jaffa lore which was the cool thing about it. Christopher Judge written Episodes VS Origins..... Well Origins was 4:52 that & the sickening woke stuff at the time extremely sad that craps still going on today ruining SciFi let alone everything else, Until TV & Movie keep focus on story it'll keep failing. I think we'd of all preferred something closer to SG1 rather than MGM trying to ruin Canon much like how Star Trek Discovery did (Thankfully they removed that from canon as of late).
Somebody needs to do something somebody needs to make a big fuss a big stink to Amazon about Stargate they're spending all of their money on Lord of the rings which sucks
They just going to give us a shity show and call it a day and it's best for them to not give us anything instead of giving us a shity show Amazon don't want the original writers Amazon don't want the original producers so if Amazon let the original writers and the original producers of the show do it then it's going to be good. so know if the original writers or the original producers are not making the show the community is not going to like it
Stargate Origins shouldn't have started with Catherine. If they had done the Tok'ra, it probably would have been more successful. The Catherine storyline was just awful. Also, stories that end by erasing all memory of what just happened suck. They are the worst.
At this point the biggest hope is AI video creation. Have you seen what it can do already? Give it a few more years. At some point I imagine a query where you can just task an AI to create new episodes of cancelled shows. With current development, I believe we get there in the next 5-10years if we don't have a major war inbetween
The Wakanda stroy in the Marvel movie was a waste. Here you have an advanced Black Society in Africa and yet they stick with their primitive savage tribal customs instead of evolving into a peaceful governed people.
"Star Gate Wakanda" that gave me an unspeakable level of cringe. (and it gets worse each time it is spoken in the video) I wouldn't be against a Jaffa centric spin-off BUT please make it its own thing instead of trying to ape a Marvel thing.
Nope, do something else. The Teal'c spin-off sounds boring. Leave sg-1 alone, they had 10 seasons, the last two felt forced. Their story is told and done. Expand on SGA and SGU, far more left to tell in those parts of the universe. I think the franchise is dead and burried, full stop. If it really needs to be something along the lines of "the history of", then give me the ancients, the asgard, the wraith, but dear god, please not the jaffa. Teal'c never was an interesting character, neither were the jaffa as a whole.
Origins became too Woke and I stopped watching very quickly. As for a Jaffa-centric series, how many tv series or movie franchises depicting something other than main stream American culture, have been successful?
@@Christianos_Theophile you mean Commander Benjamin Sisko? studio pressure stopped them from making him a captain for two seasons before they capitulated and promoted him. SGU is basically a sequel to SG1 and SGA existing between both
Come on. Try me. I’m waiting for it.
god i totally forgot origins it was so bad
The flaw in origins was them knowing how to manually dial the gate. That made zero sense. They should have used the DHD to make it believable.
"Stargate Wakanda"
dude...
yeah that train has left the station
I'd liked to have seen this instead of - ORIGINS - as that was just an absolute failure! I don't think it would've lasted that long either tbh.
What I'd like to have seen was a series based upon the Ancients!
wouldnt mind exploring this
shared too i have an idea too if only i had a ton of buckage id defineteely help him out with the projects too even get a pitch of another mythology that is well turned out to be real on a faraway world that almost mirrors earth but something very odd and different there but very awesome too.
Not seen “Stargate Origins”. Is it worth watching? Diehard S1 and Atlantis fan here, naturally.
no no it wasn’t other then some niche lore taken from the show, its mostly tied to the movie, also the first people instead of the us air force threw the game were some american civilians under duress from nazies they made nazis the pioneers 🙄
It's not, trust me.
Depends. Do you enjoy the feeling of having all your teeth pulled without anesthesia?
Disney should have never lost MGM
Instead of the Jaffa reverse-engineering different Gould tech to be usable by them too, they should make it simpler, like a new modified version of Tritonin that Gould devices then recognize as Naquadah in the blood. Then they could easily find new caches and tech along the way that they can still use. Maybe minor Gould out there start modifying their tech to counter it, so its not "always" usable.
Man I miss Stargate 😞
Indeed.
I will buy this book.
omg yes!
he is the best actor!
No, he's really not, sorry. His IMDB page speaks for itself.
Any Stargate is good Stargate at this point. I miss it. Plus the original actors are getting older and we are running out of time to be able to connect a new show with the old. Hell Im even okay with a reboot at this point.
I gave up hope years ago for a new show in the stargate universe, but at some point they will reboot. I think that's for sure.
I fear that day.
@@Mate397 indeed.
You let that guy voice act Black Panther for once and this is what you get ... -.-
I think a Jaffa centered show would have been a mistake.
You are looking at a new audience, can't bank on boomers and millennials alone.
not digging the wakanda theme but love a count on jaffa I kinda want a langaran based series.
And let's not forget Origins was complete garbage....and THAT'S what they went with?
huh.
Would've been a cool release to drop say 5 years ago.
culturally timing it with the BLM thing
Well I watch it for sure but I dont think it gather enough audience to keep it running after so many years. Stargate need something strong to come back. Star Trek did it I believe they can do it too. Sci fi is back on track hope Stargate return before it goes away like before.
I hope they do we so lacking in good sifi shows .
Hardly breaking news - its a 15 Y/O story that was re-told 6 weeks ago on a podcast interview with judge.
Yeah, just like the "joe flannigan almost bought stargate atlantis and gave us more seasons". Beaten to death, doesn't change the fact that this franchise has been dead for 10+ years.
Stargate universe movie...
AAAAAAAAAAA stop talking about origins!!!
i haven't cringed as hard as when i watched that drek
no respect for the lore, sets worth less then the catering they must've had and acting on par with a highschool play.
I can tolerate a lot of artistic freedoms, but respect for the source material must be present.
It clearly was not. (every production has a minimum run cost, if you can't hit that number just don't make it. have some dignity.)
therefore it shall not have ours.
Please do not mention them again.
They're like the netflix dragonball or death note movies.
shameful blips in a story's history that shall be forgotten and burried.
Christopher is not the Judge here on Earth to decide such !! Stargates are a dangerous idea for our controllers to let us know more....
While I would have watched it, I dont think the show would have gotten much traction.

They also shouldn't make it be political, make it appeal to everyone.
so its official STARGATE: WAKANDA? or did you just make that up?
With the whole respect and my love to Stargate - no, Please no. Bad idea
Amazon is going to ruin Stargate like they ruined The Lord of the Rings. I'd almost prefer they didn't make another show
Personally I feel like the premise is boring...
What I want to experience is the adventures of SGC, not a spinoff focusing on another faction.
I’m just gonna say it I don’t like the idea.
I'm just gonna say it: you're probably not a fan 🤷
Neither did MGM in the early 2000s
@@MrRaisinBranoh great, you're yet another of those "if it has a stargate sticker on it, I'm a fan" right? Liked that origins-disaster too didn't you?
@@mojonojo3thank god.
Me neither
Of course Origins did badly. Most fans had the DVD's of stargate so why pay a streaming service that really had nothing worth watching?
Somebody needs to do something somebody needs to make a big fuss a big stink to Amazon about Stargate they're spending all of their money on Lord of the rings which sucks
It would flop, universe is where it's at
wakanda pfff no
They just going to give us a shity show and call it a day and it's best for them to not give us anything instead of giving us a shity show Amazon don't want the original writers Amazon don't want the original producers so if Amazon let the original writers and the original producers of the show do it then it's going to be good. so know if the original writers or the original producers are not making the show the community is not going to like it
Stargate Origins shouldn't have started with Catherine.
(and it gets worse each time it is spoken in the video)
I wouldn't be against a Jaffa centric spin-off BUT please make it its own thing instead of trying to ape a Marvel thing.
It was pitched by Judge a decade before Black Panther - its not a new story or pitch.
@@mojonojo3 You do know the comic existed way before the movie right? I wasn't specifically referring to the movie.
27/12/2024 just one day before 28/12/2024, can be a joke for 28th december ? We can know in next days.
ah yes, the classic "we can't have a black guy be the main character" problem.
Michael Dorn had the same issue when pitching Captain Worf shows.
Benjamin Sisko would like to have a few words with you
@@Christianos_Theophile you mean Commander Benjamin Sisko? studio pressure stopped them from making him a captain for two seasons before they capitulated and promoted him. The entire episode Far beyond the stars was written directly as a critique of this culture and was itself probably only allowed because it took place in the 50s, far enough removed from today to make studio execs feel more comfortable.
The entire career of Spike Lee would like to have a few words with you man, these issues are still with us today.
@@EarlHare ROFL you actually just cited Spike Lee 😂
