Thank you, John. I really enjoyed that. My last living aunt passed away 3 days ago and we buried her today. So I'm not getting to fish this weekend. However I did get to watch this video and enjoy for a minute watching you catch those beautiful brookies. Great job and thanks again. Appreciate it, Tony Walkingstick
Those have to be the most beautiful Brook Trout I've ever seen. The purity of that kind of experience must be something that will always stay with you.
That last one was a beautiful fish, I've not seen such colours b4, I catch alot of brown trout some with really deep gold n olive colours but nothing like that, very impressed I understand why you fish it as its very peaceful all the noise and crap of the world falls away in a spot like that. 👍
I can understand why you favor that little stream. It’s a beautiful place, to be sure. And you have quite a knack for finding beautiful places! Wonderful video - thanks, as always.
I'm normally a pike fly fisherman, but I found a small creek with a ton of trout. Dusted off my 5 weight from when I was young, bought some dry flies and nymphs and I'm going to give it a try. I am just binge watching your videos right now for tip and tricks.
Maybe I always miss it, but I wish you would mention your set up each time. Nymph, fly, both? If two flies how far apart. That kind of info would be great. Otherwise I love the content. 👍
Was fishing a new native stream I found near my house, and I've caught a decent amount of bookies, but a club stocks the water with rainbows, reducing the amount of brooks. At one hole I thought had rainbows I found a 14 inch brook, let's just say he'll be my summer even though he's 3 miles in.
After a recent trip through WV, I now have a few spots that I want to drive back and try to fish. Quite a change with all the places to trout fish compared to Ohio.
I'm wanting to learn fly fishing but I live in southern Indiana, where there are no trout. Mostly bluegill and crappie panfish wise, what should I have to get started buddy?
I started with catching bluegills, in a pond. You'll be more comfortable learning the basics in a pond where you have plenty of space. When you are native fishing, the casting area is a lot more restricted. Good luck, you'll get a lifetime of challenge and joy.
In my experience small brookies aren't too picky. My go-to is a black woolly bugger stripped across pools. Or throw a basic parachute adams or elk hair caddis if they are rising.
They’re not too picky, since they don’t get as many bugs as other fish. In my part of the Appalachians the yellow stone flies are hatching, drakes starting to hatch. Just cast some smaller dry flies and switch it up till they start hitting
Love your channel!!!
Good gosh those fish and strewn is the prettiest I’ve here seen! Thanks!!!
Scenery plus !!!

Great video!
I haven’t watched one of these videos for a while but this was very peaceful 👌🏻
Sometimes fishing a beautiful spot like that is more important than actually catching fish.🤔
Went fly fishing for the first time on the upper Toccoa in North Ga. The first fish I caught a 9” Brooke trout, amazing stuff.
You should come up to Shenandoah sometime. You'd love the brookies up here!

It 100% does! It's like therapy after a stressful day of work
Another jewel of a small creek fishing.

So relaxing to watch , and that's how you present it. Thanks Jon boy!!

Smaller fish have different colors like that

Man I really need to break out my fly rods and roll some film 👊🏻

That last native was a real good one! Pretty little stream there. Did you get a temp?
Super stuff. Thanks. Curious about the rig and rod? 7’, dries? Want to find places like that in the Blue Ridge of NC.
Incredible footage Jon, do you talk about your camera rig/model anywhere? Like what harness and I assume gopro model? Appreciate it man.
How I miss this part of the country ... really gotta take a trip back out sometime. Awesome video dude. Those were some stunners.
What size rod are you using? Im glad to see someone doing small stream fly fishing instead of Euronymphing
Great video Jon! Keep up the great work
have you ever fished around Wheeling?
Maybe I always miss it, but I wish you would mention your set up each time. Nymph, fly, both? If two flies how far apart. That kind of info would be great. Otherwise I love the content. 👍

I was just about to ask if you get hay-fever and the Last comment mentioned it lol. Are you using a tiny nymph for those little brook trout?
Pollen in PA is killing me right now too.
Bro I've been dieing sneezing the past 3 days
Love these relaxing blueline videos. So much different from the trout fishing up in the NW.
After a recent trip through WV, I now have a few spots that I want to drive back and try to fish. Quite a change with all the places to trout fish compared to Ohio.
where is this?
i tried to get out in the gorge and hit the brookies and it was just nill, too hard to get on any holes worth a fuck and not bugs enough out

On a side note, I've been watching you for a little while, and you've essentially convinced me to pick it up! Awesome video!
Catching pan fish with a fly rod is a lot of fun! It’s great to get used to casting in weird places and getting a feel for a bite. Just go for it

What flies should I use for central pa native brook trout fishing?
