Simon, you got the timing wrong again, the device switches off after 30 seconds, you need to switch it on literally as you’re about to pour! I’d recommend watching the guinnesseurs RUclips videos on how to do a proper pour from it.
Of course he wouldn’t actually watch a video on the correct way to do it. He just wings it and does everything his own way 😂 this is why the channel has hardly grown…
Im in Ireland and been using the nitro surge for almost 2 years. The way you are pouring the can in both videos is totally wrong. The device is on a timer so stop chatting and just pour. The guinness is a 2 part pour in a proper guinness style glass by right. You surge the first pour but the top up you are not supposed to press the button. Instructions are also on the can. Every Guinness pint should have a Dome above the top of the pint glass as this is why its a 568ml can. Please read the instructions before doing a review. Cheers.
BrewDog black heart in my opinion is the better of the two, it reminds me of Beamish !! And as BrewDog appeals to a different market it may even draw people into trying Guinness! 🍻
How can you pour it so wrong in 2 separate videos 😂 you turned it on then chatted so it turned off again!! If you’re going to review it so it right 😂 you can’t just put the nitrosurge onto the Brewdog beer after it’s already had the widget activated! Shambles
That Blackheart is a cracking drink. I really enjoyed it. However if you want to use the surger device on Blackheart you need to release the gas from the can with a pin 📌 then add the surger device then press the button and pour straight away. 👌 If you open the can with the ring pull without releasing gas you DONT put it through the Surger. According to Brewdog you need wash the glass out with cold water first. That device stays on for 20/30 seconds. Open the can, put the device on the can, press the button and pour! Keep the nozzle close to the side of the glass to reduce bubbles in the head. Enjoy!

Don't get me wrong, Guinness is a great pint and has been going for years and years but I think Blackheart just has the edge over it. I'll still continue to drink Guinness but will seek out the Brewdog as a preference.
I watched this review yesterday morning and went to Tescos to get a Nitrosurge and some tins. I tested it yesterday evening with my brother and we both said WOW ! Absolutely loved this product. I compared the Guinness and the Brewdog and I have to say I significantly preferred the Brewdog - Much more complex flavours. Both beers had a perfect texture and creamyness. Great review Si 👍😀
Black Heart has a better body, more of a chocolate forward approach. What will kill it for Brew Dog is when they start charging more for the cans, then it's Guinness all day long.
I did my own Brewdog challenge in Glasgow yesterday, Tried the new Black heart, 4.1%,then tried there "Ace of spades" Milk stout at 4.7% ,yes they are different stout styles but the 2nd one was better for me ,but have to say Black heart is much more drinkable than Guinness
The thing with Guiness is that you've got probably three generations if not more brought up drinking their product, any newcomer challenging their reputation will have to fight this, eating away at their legacy is a monumental challenge, not just here in the UK & Ireland but world wide....Guiness has taken nearly 300 years to soak into public perception....I agree Brewdogs version is nicer however....
Activate it then pour 45 degree angle then straighten up when it hits the harp pour till the top of the harp then leave to settle, then pour and finish the drink off
Leave the Guinness cans to chill properly in the fridge overnight. Pour guinness in 2 parts not in one whole pour, in a proper guinness pint glass. The gadget does make a difference, it's an improvement on the widget cans. O'Haras stout imo is even better, well worth a try 👍
Had Black Heart last night, thought Brewdog had nailed it. It's more similar to Guinness Original not the draught. In my local Tesco's the Black Heart is flying off the shelves.
I tried the brewdog black heart today. I love the guiness nitro surge and still prefer it over the black heart. Its too much roast and coffee flavour for my palate. So ill be sticking with the guiness nitro surge.

In the interest of reviewing the brewdog one you should taste it without the nitrosurge as that made a difference in your opinion on the Guinness and that is how we would be drinking it
I tried the canned versions of Brewdog black heart, Guinness draught and Murphys together to compare. I am not keen on many Brewdog beers but I did find the Black heart nice enough. I do prefer the Guinness draught and the Murphys to be honest couldn't decided which one I liked the most though. Guinness has some fruitiness going one and murphys more on the creamy chocolate side somewhat similar to a St peters cream stout. The brewdog is a good effort in my opinion it has some nice bitterness and roastyness going on it just seems to lack something for me. Almost like Brewdog picked up a generic book of how to brew a classic stout and followed it word by word. The finished product is enjoyable just lacking. Guinness draught doesn't compare flavour wise to their other stout offerings, it just has something about it that makes it a Guinness best way I can describe it.
BrewDog's website says you should have the Black Heart can completely inverted when you pour their Stout. As for Guinness and Tesco. Too much like stout for my liking and it also takes ages to pour and for it to settle. That's just my personal take on it.
Exactly right,. I only buy the extra stout in bottles. I enjoy the roasty, bitter taste of extra stout far more than the nitro stout, which for me is too thin. It's too bad that the nitro stout is the only version available on draft (at least in the USA).
Luv the videos mate 👍🏻 but you are still pouring the Guinness wrong 🤦🏻♂️ 2 part pour let 1st pour settle for 1 minute and then the 2nd pour don't turn the surger device on just put it on to the can and pour..... good luck 😉
I'm drinking nitrosurge Guinness right now and in my opinion it's much creamier than the normal cans and pretty close to a pub pint. There's a knack to using the device properly, and I wish the cans were the same price as standard Guinness cans but I'm definitely enjoying it.
Black Heart is 175p in my Tesco. Well maybe not having the nitrosurge is the difference. But this was watery and nothing special, it wasn't bad just not special at all.
Who in their right mind would be on the fence about Guinness!? Smh. I live in West Virginia I have yet to experience a Guinness from a draft all I've been drinking is from the can and even that made my mind up that I prefer Guinness to any other beer although I have to say I have yet to experience any other stouts but I am looking forward to try a Milk Stout and also Murphy's and Breamish.
Had the black heart in a brewdog bar. Disappointed. Little to no lacing on the glass and not much of a head. Had another pint to make sure and just the same. Although tastes very similar not as creamy as Guinness
you need to sample Guinness in a pub in Dublin or anywhere in Ireland .in Dublin -the gravediggers or tom Kennedys or bowes pub . the right barman in the right pub.
Once again, a disaster of a comparison video. Different glasses. Guinness poured with unit turned off (you turned it on and then talked so much it turned itself off) so maybe it wasn't as creamy because you poured it without nitro for the most part. Guinness is safe, people drink Guinness for the same reason they drink Carling, it has little to do with taste and everything to do with peer pressure.

Not ideal comparison circumstances given half that Guinness didn't get agitated as the device switched itself off
Guinness original was far superior to the draught stuff available now. The voltage wasn't the only casualty .
Thanks anyway
Exactly right,. I only buy the extra stout in bottles. I enjoy the roasty, bitter taste of extra stout far more than the nitro stout, which for me is too thin. It's too bad that the nitro stout is the only version available on draft (at least in the USA).
100%
Avoid buying coffee Guinness!
That's not like any 2 step pour I've ever seen 😂
I think the brewdog version is actually very good. 4 cans in Tesco for a £5 bargain
On clubcard for £4 at the minute
Thoroughly professional video 👍
Funny that you post this today! I've been craving a pint of Guinness lately! xD
Jeez, this is 4x440ml cans for £4 in Tesco! Can’t go wrong!
Sweet Jesus what a shambles
While brewdog has gone a bit off the rails on there craft beers. I’d say their stouts are on the main really good.
Maybe one day you'll get that poured correctly lololol...
All fun though
cheers for that review...another one to go on my "Must Try" list...loved Guinness back in the day...just got bored of it in the end!!
Luv the videos mate 👍🏻 but you are still pouring the Guinness wrong 🤦🏻♂️ 2 part pour let 1st pour settle for 1 minute and then the 2nd pour don't turn the surger device on just put it on to the can and pour..... good luck 😉
As for Irish stout, I find Murphy's to be far superior to Guinness.
Does Murphy’s still exist? I haven’t seen it here in the US in years.
Yup. Agree 100% Had it at Christmas and it went a treat 👌
Simon the surger has a timer of 30 seconds then it turns off.
Well, it's goodbye and goodnight for me.
It turns off after 30 seconds 🤦♂️
You need to watch demo videos before using it.
What's with the ponytail
Tried this earlier. In my opinion it's not great. Thin and bitter aftertaste. Oh and Guiness original is way better than both.
I'm drinking nitrosurge Guinness right now and in my opinion it's much creamier than the normal cans and pretty close to a pub pint. There's a knack to using the device properly, and I wish the cans were the same price as standard Guinness cans but I'm definitely enjoying it.
Brains Black was a lovely beer. On tap and bottled. I hope they still brew it
Guinness in Ireland is superior to any beer on Earth.
Wow! That is some claim.
Tell me, how long has it taken you to sample all the beers in the world to be able to make such a statement?
@@LordBingham1 a few years
Black Heart is 175p in my Tesco. Well maybe not having the nitrosurge is the difference. But this was watery and nothing special, it wasn't bad just not special at all.
I know Brewdog gets a bad nam but they still make fantastic beer. Just not that of 10 years ago.
You should try a proper pint of Guinness in Dublin, different gravy 👌👌
Same shit
Who in their right mind would be on the fence about Guinness!? Smh. I live in West Virginia I have yet to experience a Guinness from a draft all I've been drinking is from the can and even that made my mind up that I prefer Guinness to any other beer although I have to say I have yet to experience any other stouts but I am looking forward to try a Milk Stout and also Murphy's and Breamish.
Worst pint of Guinness I've ever seen 😂😂
Had the black heart in a brewdog bar. Disappointed. Little to no lacing on the glass and not much of a head. Had another pint to make sure and just the same. Although tastes very similar not as creamy as Guinness
Try the cold brew guiness for the cofee hit
Have you tried Beamish irish stout lovely smokey peaty creamy taste to it.
Put a can of carling premier through the surge 😂
I get ya!
Asda and sainsburys have new burger king doritos. Tried them today think you'll like em. 👍
Only been watching for one month but it's good shit watch you long time ha ha brill keep going.
The one we’ve been waiting for
you need to sample Guinness in a pub in Dublin or anywhere in Ireland .in Dublin -the gravediggers or tom Kennedys or bowes pub . the right barman in the right pub.
Good review, enjoying a Jarl by fyne ales this afternoon 👍
My goodness, what a brewery
Holts Black also a great drink.
This looks like a pretty cool little gadget! Also I had no idea you have one of those wands. I once saw it in a comedy skit and wanted one since lol
Can we get a review of Arcade Made please mate
Couldn’t use the nitroserve right on the other video either 😂
For me there can be only one...Guinness Extra Strout. It has been an enduring favorite of mine for 40 years. The rest are just pretenders.
Great review
