@jk_lvvess I don't disagree, I just wish more attention was paid to the part of this story that was real and true; episodes. 1-4 are zingers, 5-7 was pretty "fitting the preferred narrative" lies. Maybe an Emmy? Oscars are only for movies. I don't think it's gonna win too many mainstream awards especially in the US, but it's a good thing tbh. These awards are worth nothing. Audience recognition is way better.
Martha is SUCH a complex character (well, technically not a character but a person). I found myself feeling sorry for her and angry at her all at the same time repeatedly and putting myself in Richards shoes, i still dont know how i would have been able to deal with what he had to endure. Of course and maybe that came from Gadds own desires abd wishes. The stalker never faced jail, and stalkers don't admit in what they are doing is wrong since being delusional and all. But a lot of his moments in the show, the vulnerable bits, dating trans, the cycle of abuse and what trauma does to a person that is very much real. I worked as a manager and forensic nurse of a rape and sexual assault centre. The way Richard and Jessica portrayed the trauma of childhood adverse incidents and abuse as an adult was absolutely brilliant. Trauma informed counselling is such an under funded service. Even though the NHS has some counselling services it is not specialised or available to all that are requiring this. IMO this series is even better than It's a sin.
