Ren is genuis level. He may not be a religious person, but he is well versed in various topics and seems to have a grasp on scripture. If you have never faced an illness that threatens your life or your future ambitions, Rens' words hit really hard. I was 32 when I was told to plan my funeral. - "you have less than 6 months," they said. I accepted the terms and tried to just maintain normalcy while being ill and skeletal (normal for me was 205 lbs, I was 103 lbs at the time). Slowly, the tables turned, and I got better despite the doctors. I am now 61 years of age, quite healthy, and happily retired. For anyone facing the unknown, don't fear. We have little control over death, but we can control the way we live our lives and what we leave as legacy. I know mine has been wild and fun, and I will leave this earth with no regrets, no secrets, and abundant physical reminders from my life's work. I wish the best for everyone.
You are my FAVORITE Ren reactor! You GET his multi-layered brilliance on a deeply spiritual level as he is truly a gift desperately needed by humanity. I am SO in sync with your views on not being religious but being in relationship with God, in whatever form that takes for each individual. I love your being all about having a dialog and how Ren's music, in particular, opens the way for meaningful conversation. 🙋♀️💖
@barbaralawrence6226 I truly believe in dialogue, discussions, group processes that causes us to question our own beliefs and opinions. Without that, we're have minimal growth and become stunted in mind. Our minds are meant to expand.

Ren has stated in his Twitch streams that he’s agnostic, but he loves the imagery and stories from the Bible and other religious texts. I agree with you that his use of them really support dialogue, which he’s also stated many times is what he wants to do with all polarized perspectives.

I love that pause on the third, "Have you ever felt..................pain?" So impactful.
"We have all been here." We have NOT all been where Ren was. The beginning of this song is a depiction of the time when his suffering - mental AND physical pain - broke him & he slipped into psychosis. He is in pain to this day. He has said that he is now probably about 70% better - after 13 years - & his legs still hurt every day - like bones on fire.

yeah, Eden isn't a song, it's Ren discussing spirituality to a background storyboard, originally aired at the finality of his Money Game promotion/scavenger hunt, definitely worth a look.
The length and extent of his illness made him question a lot of things. The beginning of the song is literally true. The pain and psychosis had him laying on the kitchen floor clawing at the flooring. He also talked about riding in a car and jumping out, taking off his clothes and laying in the road naked, thinking that doing something unexpected would drive out his "demons." We all have some sort of pain that we deal with, but I can't imagine what he has, and is going through.
That quiet, stunned “I have a new favourite Ren song, and it’s called 7 Sins” I think many of us experienced when first hearing this one.
This was apparently the last track he created for the Sick Boi album and it feels to me like he poured everything into this…not just his pain, his wisdom, his experience but also the thousands and thousands of hours honing his craft and skill as a word smith, a producer, a performer.
I still find almost every track of his is my favourite when I’m listening to it, but if I wanted someone to see Ren at his peak, I think this would be the track I would guide them to…but then, his latest mash up of Fred Again tracks in a live acoustic performance is also absolutely amazing…I think he’s just starting to find his stride and give us his best and since we’ve all been blown away by what went before, the future might be legendary.

This was my personal dark mantra for a couple of days in a hospital bed. I love his little roster of musical angels Clapton, Hendrix, whom i'd already pegged as a prophet, Kendrick Lamar, who i need to go listen to, and Lennon a martyr to obsessive fandom. Then King and Gandhi last, Ren, as others have pointed out, is an agnostic who believes. According to him he believes in us.
He should get a Grammy. That's how talented he is.
He always paints a picture between good and evil.
That is exactly the Christian life.

He’s exactly as fascinating as you’d want him to be, but also charmingly goofy. His Patreon is worthwhile as well.
This should be every reactors first experience with Ren. Imagine listening to his other works thru the lens of what he’s endured. They all hit a little different knowing depth of suffering. 13 years worth.

One of my favorite things about Ren is his music hits me in the heart songs like this you can hear his emotion in it especially when he’s not really singing it’s more talking but you can feel that emotion everytime I hear this song I always get sad towards the end because you can see hear and feel his emotions
Ren is expressing the pain he went through at one of the worse times of his illness in this song ..He is begging for help from God to ease his suffering but is getting no answers or relief ..He kneels at the alter of his own disease and he begs ... The rest of the song should take you on a self explanatory journey of Rens experiences during this time frame in his life ... this is genius writing and production at the very top tier ..nice reaction

I live with pain daily. So glad someone (Ren) was able to write a song that tells it like it is.

It's no fun to do the seven heavenly virtues. He is brilliant. He describes physical pain so clearly, and it is tragically beautiful. I'm a chronic silent pain patient with more than I could list here wrong with me. None apparant to the naked eye. Only one that has felt that kind of pain knows it so intimately. He is my body's poet.

Every time i hear this man iam blown away. What a genius.
Like other have said, he’s stated as being agnostic, but during the darker parts of his journey he dove deep into different religions trying to find peace. He didn’t ultimately find it, but he was left with an appreciation for various themes and imagery which makes it into his music since, and did help form his personal philosophy and belief in compassion.

Ren's said that he's not religious but that he enjoys employing religious imagery to illustrate his ideas. Not just Christian imagery either. He's also employed Islamic, Buddhist and Hindu imagery too. Even an occasional image from old pagan religions. :)

Indeed he is the peoples artist, a generational talent. I love this song, probably my favourite off the Sick Boi album. In terms of his beliefs, not sure if you saw his Eden story, he's an agnostic...who believes! I love the musical influences he drops in his songs.
He started the song singing in the Welsh language. The 1'st of march is still David's day, the patron saint of Wales. Other notable Welsh singers/bands tom Jones (as you know), 'the stereophnics'👌🏼, 'super furry animals', 'the manic street preachers ', 'shirley bassey'. Keep that Welsh connection going for st David's day please 🤞🏼✊🏼🏴🇺🇸

This is the day that Ren fell into psychosis from the extreme pain and despair from an immune reaction that he was very hopeful for. So instead of helping him at the cost of 6,000 pounds, it made him worse . He has been sick and in pain for 13 years now.

I read in a comment (Sorry can't find the source) that the "God tied a noose to his neck..." lines came from a halucination Ren had during his psychosis.
Wanna recommend 'Ren ft. Bibi - Crutch'. Absolutely great song, so heartbreaking, beautiful and deep. Absolutely underrated in my opinion. There are far too few reactions for it.
"Crutch" dates back to a time when Ren thought he wouldn't live much longer. Bibi was his girlfriend at that time and launched an appeal for donations for his treatment/diagnosis.

Fear of the unknown keeps the religion going. There's a whole lot of truth in that.
In an interview ren said he went to a number of different religions hoping one of them would ease his pain and suffering, none of them did, including Christianity.
This is a very dark song but it' the truth of the dark places ren has been too. Way more then the vast majority of people have ever been too. However if people can relate to it, even in a less intense way than ren did that's a positive thing.
As he says at the end of hi ren, we must remember we are all human.
Soon as I got the album and hit play on song 1, this wasy favorite ever since.

Britt...This song is about his first psychotic break.. He was laying on his kitchen floor writhing in pain when he lost grip of reality... When he says "God tied a noose to his neck and walked to the edge and jumped" he is being literal, that is what he saw in his minds eye.. How he can put this to words and make a song out if it is beyond my comprehension..

His pain from the Lyme disease damage is like fire in his bones he has said physical pain and being unable to safely eat food until you loose your physical strength and can't leave your bed and room
This was Rens actual experience for years and continues to an extent.
He feels the need to share this because of the many hidden people in this situation around the world
The people who didn't survive that were known to him are part of the reason he questions things spiritually
I believe he is quite a spiritual person
