ONLY TEN YEARS!!?? There are still reactions on RUclips of Moonlight Sonata TWO HUNDRED YEARS after it was written (and Beethoven couldn't beatbox for shit)!!
That's one hell of a statement that throws so many awesome songs to the wayside so deliberately and unceremoniously...........And I can't argue against it.
The majority of his work that I have had the brilliant luck to come across, is more like "performance art" than just music. This piece, for example, is lyrically, and musically engrossing, in and of itself, laced with similies, metaphors, double entendre, beautifully descriptive details, and sweeping melodic outbursts, but you take: the different camera angles used for the 2 battling parts of his psyche, the different tones of voice used for each (aggressive vs. passive), the different lighting cues for each (flashing vs. steady), and the vocal inflection used for each (anger vs. calm), and you get a sense of perspective from each of those that helps to move the narrative. It's like an rock operetta. It evokes emotion, introspection, empathy, sympathy, happiness, sorrow, and even a feeling of resolution. I LOVE this performance. He definitely deserves ALL the accolades he is currently garnering from the world.
LOCAL BOY MAKES GOOD!!! Nearly every reactor (and there are hundreds) that watch his busking videos says, "My god, what I wouldn't give to have seen him busk live!" You ladies are SO LUCKY!! ...and we're all jealous!!! Big up, Brighton!!!
The reason Ren blew up is because of how authentic and relatable this video was for so many people. He portrays an internal battle that many of us fight every single day. That challenging, belittling voice is something most of us experience, and it can feel like it holds all the power. But Ren also portrayed the voice of hope, and that's what gets most of us through the day. I don't think I've ever seen another artist be that vulnerable, or tackle a subject in such a way as to meld my own experience with theirs. It hit me right at my core. This is beyond music. It's an experience.
I think the Ren fans on RUclips have been waiting for somebody from Brighton who is familiar with Ren but has no idea what he’s been up to to post reactions. Welcome to a flood of new subs…Ren has been a busy boy!

He is currently living in Canada where he is receiving treatment. Tales of Jenny and Screech (13m version) is the next logical step....all his stuff is amazing.

Although he is still in Canada getting treatments for Lyme disease, he did put out a Hip Hop / Rap album Sic Boi and did win #1 album in the UK. The confusion and difficulty finding words is typical after experiencing Ren. There are no criteria to qualify to listen to Ren's music, and you've checked off all the items you could ever need to become a Renegade: * you're open-minded, * you pay attention to whats happening in the music, * You've engaged the Renegades and elicited a dialog **BONUS** You have prior first-hand experience of Ren. Please share. We love that stuff, haha Was watching you young ladies through your Angelina discovery and path, so very happy to see you join in on this rabbit hole. The Renegades are very engaging, supportive, knowledgable, and always happy to help with any questions, insider information, and/or direction to follow the Ren rabbit hole. ❤❤
It's so interesting to hear you mention Bob Marley at the end. There is a video of THE BIG PUSH (Ren's band that you mentioned) playing a medley of I Shot The Sheriff by Bob Marley and a song by Bob's son and some other stuff. I have some brain damage from an accident so please forgive me forgetting the proper title for a moment lol. If you search for... The Big Push - I shot the sheriff ... you will find the video. The one you should watch has Hip Hop at the end of the title, I think. It's an incredible video filmed on the streets of your lovely hometown, Brighton. Who knows? Maybe you were in the crowd that day. You will love it either way.
Well done, girls. You are now officially Renegades 😊 How lucky you are to have seen Ren in Brighton! I am envious. The Tales are the next one, if you ask me, but honestly, you can watch anything and everything. Hugs from Sally in Sweden xx

Ren has many fans of all ages from all round the world . I am 71 and from Australia and not the only fan in their 70s I have seen in the comments. I you have seen Ren perform live you will be envied by many . Great reaction ,thank you
Loved your reaction, ladies. My elder brother was a street busker for much of his life, with a period in folk singing, and then pop in the late 1960's before returning to busking [Don Partridge]. He spent his last years in Seaford and Peacehaven, close to Brighton, and often busked in Brighton, so when he died the corporation named a bus after him. So, like you, I have a special affinity for buskers and for Brighton. Ren is probably the most amazing, creative and theatrical musical artist I have ever heard or seen. I know that you will both enjoy your Ren journey!
Wow - yes we've just researched Don; you can see him perform 'Rosie' featured on Humberto Gonzalez Espinoza RUclips channel. Lovely! Thank you for watching
I love him too. You two are positively adorable. Ren is an encyclopedia of knowledge. A musician, a writer and an actor. He has a talent the likes of which I’ve not seen before. He has been a gift to me. Cheers.
This was an exciting reaction , renegade here from the Ren rabbit hole. I can’t wait for you to react to more Ren, he has a lot so be prepared and it is ALL fantastic. And I’m sure you will like chinchilla… she’s just ‘fabulous’ 🙌🏼🥰
Poetry and performance - and he did this in one take, no edits. You're going to be blown away by what he's doing these days. Out of the misery and suffering of his illness an awe inspiring talent has blossomed. Others (below) will tell you about what he's been through, and then I suggest you listen to "Sick Boi", which will offer you his perspective on the medical profession. He's currently in Canada, receiving stem cell treatment.
this video is an amalgam of four different takes and some hand held camera work. He has some fabulous one takes, and some fabulous minimal cut takes. This is not one. The mic appears and disappears through the clip and his gown length changes between camera cuts. Doesn't diminish this work of art but it does take away from his actual one takes to be promoting this as one as people who can see it's not will start to doubt his actual one takes.
@@CreativePhotoWS Ren himself states that all the shots for the video are from the same take, so I'm not sure where you got this info unless it's just you thinking a lapel mic disappearing into bunched fabric is concrete evidence.
@@4tr0phy show me where he states that. Name the interview. I’ve watched every interview. And yes, sometimes the mic goes behind the gown. Other times it appears and disappears almost instantly. Then there’s the gown length variations early in the piece that go from above knee to below to above again. The. There’s the hand held close ups which cannot be shot in one take or the camera man would be in the shot. Keep believing what you will. I could care less. But you detract greatly from his actual one takes by declaring this to be one. I’m a 40+ year professional image maker. I train people to spot mistakes in their work.
I’ve seen SO many reactions to this performance - seeing the different people from different backgrounds all react in the same ways to Hi Ren is almost addictive! That said… you two ladies have a unique approach and style… and I am so glad that you are happy I am here! 😂😂😂
From what I’ve heard he was originally from Brighton but was living in London for a while before moving to Canada for treatment. Quite a few songs are storytelling, dealing with the loss of a friend, and his ability to rap is incredible. There are easily 20 videos you can react to. In descending order my favorites are Power, For Joe, Chalk Outlines (featuring Chinchilla), Illest of Our Time, I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip-Hop
Just found your channel with this video, been watching reactions to the song all day. Was pleasantly surprised to hear that you saw this guy performing before he was well known. This reaction in particular is interesting to me because of how there are two generations reacting to something that my yet even younger generation has produced (the suffering caused by our circumstances that leads to the creation of art like this). The world has begun to change so quickly and all the different generations still living currently seem to struggle relating to each other. The way this message affects all these different generations is different in some ways and the same in others. Society changes at a furious pace, but simultaneously human nature has always been and always will be the same. The mum cracked me up a bit 😂. Some people when they get older and mature, lose their ability to just laugh and enjoy life. Clearly she is not afflicted by this problem lol. God bless you guys, well wishes from the US 🙏
You two are absolutely adorable, I’m in Ontario Canada and you lovely ladies just made my whole day. Quite entertaining. Thanks for the fun. I just love REN , your reactions were great.
I'm 65 and this is the most IMPACTFUL performance I have seen/heard IN MY LIFE. For....dozens of reasons. It should be required. NO...not on radio, you'd miss so very MUCH of the performance if you only listened to it. It DESERVES more than "a listen" It's a ten-minute life-changing performance. I don't have high enough praise.
Hi Guys, great reaction. I also consider myself lucky enough to have seen Ren and the Big Push Busking Live. I own the Shell Shop on Brighton Beach and REN used to busk directly opposite (remember this if you ever react to the Money Game Trilogy). I had many a conversation with him about his illness and his fight to get to Canada to get the right treatment. In fact we used to look after all his busking gear in his wheelbarrow. I thought he was gifted and talented back then but now I am just in awe in how far he has come considering all the battles he has faced. Beware, the REN rabbithole is deep and very rewarding. Us Renegades are not only here for him but we are here to help spread every message he is giving us. He is making people talk and get help for things that were too often kept quiet and wrongly never spoken about. REN with his talents is bringing people together and helping them realise that they are not alone. REN is BARDCORE. REN is saving lives
This is art of transcendent beauty and an *important* song. Artists often struggle with imposter syndrome. There’s a movie starring Olivia Munn called “Violet” that rings of this and was a transformative experience for me-much the same as this song resonates. As a person who’s never been able to escape negative self-talk and imposter syndrome, *realizing* that I can exert the strength that destructive voice questions-strength that already resides within me-was sooo important. It takes time to push past the negativity-to make your own voice stronger, but if anyone out there is struggling with this, please please please *know* that you can do it. *Know* that I believe in you… but you don’t need me to-just like you don’t need the shroud of doubt that feels first of protection and then as a prison. You are *stronger* than that voice. You are stronger than you can *possibly* know… until you push back with softness or aggression-your choice.
the first channel to do a proper reaction; both of you were great! thank you. Ren is a beautiful person and has suffered immense physical and psychological pain for many years of his life, not to mention he was mis-diagnosed for years and suffered from Lyme disease which has left permanent damage. He is a miracle and his music speaks volume.
There's nothing more beautiful than Ren and Chinchilla ladies! And by the way, Ren hit #1 on the charts in the UK against Rick Ashley despite not having any airplay or a label!!!
The one thing I love the most about these ..... "Ren reactions" is when you see people realize how honest he is and how he pierces through the shells of our daily lives. Honesty is a thing that frightens most people. The song with Chincilla is called "Chalk Outlines", it's just as great as this one.
Wow your face!! Loved your authentic reaction and letting it run all the way through. And then your comment that you were not intelligent enough to comment...bang on! None of us are! (Well actually try Knox Hill's reaction...he got all the stuff, apart from "the fourth wall"). Ren is a genius, don't think there's any doubt about that. And reckon this is an absolute legend of a track. Please do a reaction to Chalklines with Chinchilla PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Go easy on the Gin 😜😜😜
We'd all give at least a few fingers to go back and see Ren and/or The Big Push busking in Brighton! Really cool to see a reaction from a couple who HAVE. SO envious! and happy for you that you saw it live. I'm sure you'd enjoy The Big Push's busking performance of "Watch Out." You want the one with Ren in red suspenders.
Something I've learned from reaction channels' comment sections for their Ren reactions: suspenders = garter belt over there! Folks from the UK say "look for the thumbnail with Ren in the red braces" to describe the videos from the Red Suspenders Ren busking performance... just in case it helps these ladies figure out what we're saying! (they may already know about the vocab thing, but... just in case!)
This reaction is a perfect example of the other side. The side that just hears the music. The depth this song actually reaches, will be hopefully talked about for many year's.

Just him and his Brighton friends who all flew to Canada to be with him. No radio play, no touring or promoting, just people on RUclips finding him and falling in love. It's such an amazing thing and I hope he continues to get the recognition he deserves. You should watch the moment he found out he was #1, your Mom would love it!
Moms got rhythm. Crazy rhythm, she had an ear for it you can tell.
Loved this reaction! Please do more Ren... based on your other videos I think you guys would love his more recent duets with Chinchilla.
I cant get enough of this song. i think i have played it 100x times now. Something about it rings so true to me...absolute masterpiece
The confusion and difficulty finding words is typical after experiencing Ren. There are no criteria to qualify to listen to Ren's music, and you've checked off all the items you could ever need to become a Renegade:
* you're open-minded,
* you pay attention to whats happening in the music,
* You've engaged the Renegades and elicited a dialog
**BONUS** You have prior first-hand experience of Ren. Please share. We love that stuff, haha
Was watching you young ladies through your Angelina discovery and path, so very happy to see you join in on this rabbit hole. The Renegades are very engaging, supportive, knowledgable, and always happy to help with any questions, insider information, and/or direction to follow the Ren rabbit hole. ❤❤
Thank you so much! We definitely will react to more Ren.
The Big Push - I shot the sheriff
... you will find the video. The one you should watch has Hip Hop at the end of the title, I think. It's an incredible video filmed on the streets of your lovely hometown, Brighton. Who knows? Maybe you were in the crowd that day. You will love it either way.
I love all his music!❤❤❤
Well done, girls. You are now officially Renegades 😊 How lucky you are to have seen Ren in Brighton! I am envious. The Tales are the next one, if you ask me, but honestly, you can watch anything and everything.
Hugs from Sally in Sweden xx
Thank you for watching, Sally! Just added your request.
He is everywhere and relates to everyone ❣️ I am a 66 yr old Widow in the US and I have heard all of his songs since finding this one last year. ❤
The World Will Know Ren:) 2 lovely ladies -so glad to have found you through our dude!:) Ren is BEYOND. So much great music on his page -collabs, etc...check out Power for a good vibe. Much Love Ladies!:)
You ladies are amazing! The properly dressed, sweater over the shoulders mum. The daughter in a hoodie. You play off of each other very well. Looking forward to more Ren reactions!
I came for Ren, I'm staying because your mother is everything!! Love her so much! What a fantastic pair you two make. ❤
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT (and refreshing) that you don't pause.
So glad you agree with us. Thank you
😂 your mum ‘ he shouldn’t be performing with women’ wow you are in for a ride. Chalk outlines live version with chinchilla. New sub and looking forward to you both seeing just how international ren has reached. Much love ❤️
Yes, I have to be careful what she says sometimes! 😂 Thank you for watching
@@TravellingwithMother too funny :)
@@TravellingwithMotheryou two are going to love Chinchilla
Ren has many fans of all ages from all round the world . I am 71 and from Australia and not the only fan in their 70s I have seen in the comments. I you have seen Ren perform live you will be envied by many .
Great reaction ,thank you
"CHALK OUTLINES" NEXT GUYS! ❤
I enjoyed your video so much. How refreshing to hear the whole song without it stopping 🙏✌️❤️. I love Ren especially 1974. Hope to hear you review it💚
Hes got treatment in canada for his lymedisease, now that he got many,he come nr 1 in Englands hitlist😊
Always happy to hear from Ren's fans. Thank you and thank you for watching.
this video is an amalgam of four different takes and some hand held camera work.
Needles s to say, I wasn't there - just passing on what I was told.@@CreativePhotoWS
I used to live in Brighton as well…was probably watching alongside you lot. REN is amazing.
The Tale of Jenny and Screech is a rough one .. but hang in there when you listen to it .. thanks for your reactions to this
Loved this reaction, you ladies are a trip!
Loved your reaction to, as you know, a true GENIUS
Liked & subscribed in anticipation of you reacting to more Ren
Thank you ❤
This was heartwarming to watch!
And yes, I am jealous of the Brighton busking scene.
Well said lady's, you surprised me so you got my subscription 😊
You mothers face at start of ren coming on ,has made my day
i love ren and you guys are too cute 😍
Absolutely bloody love your mum 😬
I’ve seen SO many reactions to this performance - seeing the different people from different backgrounds all react in the same ways to Hi Ren is almost addictive! That said… you two ladies have a unique approach and style… and I am so glad that you are happy I am here! 😂😂😂
I've had psychotic fits. This is the best description of the internal conflict I have found in music.
Your momma is a gem of a person lol
Mom is a little bit extra and i love it! 😂❤
His album debuted at #1 on the Brit charts.
You are stronger than you can *possibly* know…
until you push back with softness or aggression-your choice.
Good choice
Glad you think so!
the first channel to do a proper reaction; both of you were great! thank you. Ren is a beautiful person and has suffered immense physical and psychological pain for many years of his life, not to mention he was mis-diagnosed for years and suffered from Lyme disease which has left permanent damage. He is a miracle and his music speaks volume.
Thank you for sharing this reaction! Your mother is an amazing human who clearly expresses her thoughts and feelings freely!
Thank you so much 😊
OMG you two are so sweet! Loved this reaction. More REN reactions from you two, please.
❤ I'm so excited for this!!! I love Ren so much!
Omg your reaction on your mum's face was me the first time I saw this a year ago. Was nice to be reminded of my first experience of Ren ❤❤❤
This reaction is a perfect example of the other side. The side that just hears the music. The depth this song actually reaches, will be hopefully talked about for many year's.
Excellent reaction , ❤ the connection to u knowing Mr. Gill
