Me and my nine-man strong band of recruits, minding our own business: The fifteen knights of satan coming to kill us all for being in the wrong general vicinity:
Many years ago I didn't even have a proper gaming PC. I had a rinky dink laptop and the only games I had were Stronghold crusader, Elder scrolls Oblivion, and M&B warband. PoP was my first warband mod and the first time I ever actually beat the game. Weirdly enough it actually holds up pretty well. Even at the time M&B was pretty below average in terms of graphics but anyone that played accepted it and it's crudeness actually gave it a timeless charm even today.
I relate too much to the rinky dink laptop struggle. It was one of the only games I could play as a teenager and because of all the hours I logged back then it's still my top most played game on steam. I remember when the multiplayer was still pretty big. The community was insanely toxic but it was a good time still, I miss it
I love bannerlord but the only thing missing is the amount of godtier mods warband had, from cowboys to brytenwalda to PoP to Starwars... it was so fun just finding legit overhauls to the game.
Idk I thought the same but replaying Pendor made me realize how meh some of those systems people complain are absent from Warband. Granted I do miss some of them but they’re virtually the same game really.
@@Soul_Tomato yeah maybe, but for all the years of development and all the promises that were made relating to diplomacy for example, I feel like it is a very disappointing game
Oh agreed. I’m def in a “wtf happened” camp. It’s both great they’re the same and also it’s greatest weakness. Why play the barely better new one when you have Pendor and all the other stuff on warband.
I remember doing a defense of Erebor one time against an army of Orcs. Was absolutely insane how cinematic it was. My only major gripe with that mod was there was 0 chance for any downtime. You had to immediately get moving or Mordor would overtake Gondor and wipe the map.
I really hope The Old Realms gets as good as Warsword Conquest. It's off to a good start but it just doesn't have the density of content that Warsword does.
@@Dover78 I just played Old Realms for a week and had fun with it, certainly no Warsword yet but a big update for Old Realms is supposed to come out soon. Someday Old Realms will be the GOAT.
man pendor and perisno war is the best time, both trying to upped the other and then there is medieval "something something" with some early guns early and deus vult
After several false starts, I finally seriously got into Pendor a few months ago. Played the hell out of it, although I didn't get that far. Basically just remained in the early-to-mid game for a while. I was slowly making my way up in the ranks, and got the hidden base. But meanwhile the demon doomstack of Eyegrim the Devourer was just running rampant. But perhaps that's inevitable. Eventually I got a bit burnt out with playing it, but I did play it so much that the cold open with the Jamaican Rum theme still sends shivers down my spine. Would have liked to have heard a bit about the history of the mod, its start as an art project, and the weird framing device where the information about the world was supposedly found in some 19th-century manuscripts. Always thought that was cool and unusual. In the early game, I found it best to just make money from trading, tournaments, etc. and hire mercenary troops. Unlike vanilla Warband, it's not really worth it building up peasant recruits at first.
Oh god. The moment I could create my own knighthood order was the moment I felt like winning the game for the first time. I Went from vanilla over Floris and Perisno to PoP, spent thousands of hours in the game (including many years in our famous 66Pp in Napoleonic Wars) and I must say, PoP is the first and only mod creating not only new game, but completely new experience, including amazing story, great possibilities and many more...
Good old PoP, I always loved it when a stray arrow penetrated my high tier helmet and still did 90 damage, killing me instantly If you'd make 1 or 2 lore videos about Pendor that would be cool, many of the knighthood orders have cool backgrounds and sometimes not so cool ideologies. I especially love the Order of the Radiant Cross and the Order of the Griffon, they aren't the strongest but their history is unique and their armor looks cool.
Okay, now I need to reinstall M&B and Prophecy of Pendor. I still remember the dread I felt when on the overworld map a squad with purple numbers would appear. Or when I would approach the edges of the overworld map…
So funny because the goals you chose we're basically what I did every time I played. Make a Knight Order and do Noldor stuff to get their super OP weapons and just run Order Knights and Noldor units.
Pendor was actually the first time I conquered the whole world in warband. I have such fond memories, it was so hard (apart from the inherent difficulty of the mod I also always pick the hardest possible settings). I remember just running around all by myself with a lance so that I can kill some bandits in early game lol
I'm not sure if the video brings this up but hooooly shit did that mod need its wiki, I had a qualis gem in my inventory for hours before I understood how I could even use it.
I remember playing this several times normally, getting really pissed at the fact the mod blew a fuse and went all preachy on you if you used a healing cheat in battle, and eventually just modded the mod to give myself ten times troop capacity and make food items have ten times as many charges. Drowning rogue knights in peasants and leading the charge against demon armies. Grabbing my handful of Noldor units, holding a hill above an unending mosh pit of my low tier infantry fighting the demonic worshippers, both sides sending an unending tide of reinforcements into the meat grinder...honestly, best time I ever had with the mod. Never got a full victory however.
damm, yeah these kinds of things are missing in bannerlord one of things that made warband great in spite of its ps2 graphics was the amount of total conversion mods that comunity made, and how good they were ah my fav 2 banner lord mods were anno domini (13th century europe conversion) and Pendor, havent heard any simmular mods in that scope for bannerlord
These were the best months of my life finding out about this mod. I might download it again, but I've also seen some teases about something with Bannerlord. I don't know if that was official, but those were amazing times regardless.
(oops. totally typo'd this, accidental double negative. *wasn't expecting.) Majesty OST on a Prophecy of Pendor video is way more based than I'd thought possible.

Great video brother, I could feel your excitement through the screen, it is a wonderful world, I got back into it a few weeks ago and I am 500 days in, it is crazy fun.
I plan to, I am a vassal/ martial of Sarleon, trying to get rid of one faction before I declare independence. I managed to trade some places I sieged for Laria, and two castles near the Noldor forest, wich I am friendly with. I am a grandmaster of the rangers of clarion call, and I train their troops, going well so far, Pendor is hands down my favorite warband mod.
Man all these Pendor videos made me want to play my most recent save, yep it's still there, still fighting for Baccus, still friends eith the Noldor, still trying to get Lethlaridien to train my nee knightly order
In fact, you can fight by yourself. Not with all kinds of weapons, but with spears, bows, and maybe big swords. For me, this has always been the most interesting part of the game. The bows in Pendor are very strong on their own and with practice you really turn the game into a shooter. However, you had to carry around half an inventory of arrows and return to the box periodically. Spears, on the other hand, utilized the speed mechanic and were perfect for fighting knights. However, it was the lunge forward that you had to use, not the knight strike. Both strategies relied heavily on horse riding and depended entirely on the health and speed of the horse. Therefore, the worst opponents were the throwers. Because unlike archers and crossbowmen, they didn't try to hit you from the other end of the map (Enemies in the warband actually used limited arrows, so it was possible to kite even noldor with some success.). The weakest were the mounted armored knights. And the Jhatu raiders were extremely strong, as they had long spears, fast horses and mounted archers at the same time.
@@Soul_Tomato it was cool. like it had colonial adventures and crusades and stuff. it turned the big unused island into a byzantine calradic empire rump state and you could join armies and stuff

Prophecy of Pendor's Jamaican Rum is such an iconic theme for me, representing a time when all I played was Warband. Good times.
It’s such an iconic song
Man I remember starting in Janos and getting dunked by Snake Cultists until I said "fuck it" and turned on cheats. Good times.
