I'm hoping the AtGames pinball is as software-moddable as I've seen people do with the AtGames Legends Ultimate arcade machine.
1st off thanks for doing a breakdown.
I'm definitely getting the atgames and arcade1up. Only complaint I have ofyour review was at a few parts in your breakdown you jumped around on the brands thst it was hard to know what one you were discussing. Maybe have more pausing before discussing a different pinball unit. Other than that thanks for doing this.
Relic Gamer, thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it. I tried to cover too much too quickly. I’ll take note next time to pause for a-bit. Cheers 👍
@@ToyKade thank you for being cool. You definitely made my decision on which pinball units to get
@@relicgamer2137 aw, cute
This is mid January 2022. In the last 2 months, I have bought Star Wars, Attack from Mars and Pinball Legends.
Star Wars has 10 different original tables on it. Very sophisticated and elaborate in both graphics and game play. Does things that would be impossible with real pinball. (Things like Boba Fett throwing out a line and hurling your ball somewhere else on the playfield.)
And multi level games. Knock down certain targets and it takes you to a different playfield. Games within the games.
Can't beat it for sophistication.
BUT...only a 24 inch screen and in only 720 resolution. Cannot read many of the things on the playfield. No expandability, no internet connection.
Attack from Mars has 10 classic Williams machines, realized by Zen. Games can be played straight (just as the real machines in arcades) or, with Zen elaborations. (These don't affect the game but they make the game look cool.)
Unfortunately, they play like the original Williams games. Balls go out of play way too easily. And, like Star Wars, only a 24 inch display and 720 resolution playfield. Again, very difficult to read stuff on the playfield. No expandability, no internet connection.
[It's nice having internet connection. If nothing else you can see how your scores match up with those of other players.]
Pinball Legends: 22 different tables and if you buy from Sam's club you get a voucher to download 6 more for free. Also, hooks to internet and you can download from many others for a couple of dollars each.
Legends offers all classic Gottlieb tables. Has a 32 inch display and in 1080 resolution. Looks fantastic and everything is readable.
The tables are exactly as the original (no elaborations) and sound and PLAY like real Pinball machines. (You can even hear the ball rolling across the playfield!)
Most tables (as was the way of Gottlieb) are straightforward and easy to understand. Knock down targets to advance bonuses and light up specials.
Because this machine hooks to the internet, you can see how your scores compare to other players all over the world.
Also, about twice a week, the company has live Pinball tournaments you can compete in.
This feels and acts like a real Pinball machine. Everything that the ball hits causes the machine to make a noise or vibrate.
All three machines are fun but Star wars outshines Attack from Mars by its sophistication. But even with that, neither of them hold a candle to Legends. When you play Pinball on Legends, you feel you are really playing Pinball!
And, Legends is less expensive than the others. To me it's a no brainer.
And BTW, when you see these price listed in most sites, that does not include shipping. Shipping is usually a couple of hundred dollars. If you buy them from Sam'sclub or Best Buy, they'll end up being about the same price but a return or exchange will be a helluva lot easier.
Thanks for the helpful review. I've been looking at the A1up pinball and ALP trying to decide what works best for me.
Waiting to preorder of Attack from Mars. Hoping someone will do a DIY mod tutorial on upgrading monitor to maximize playfield.
Hayhtd D screen?
Im keen on the Atgames, any word on AU release for their pinball, or other products?
None at this moment. Although PK did mention they are expanding to Australia in 2021. 🤞
Good comparison. How about an update for 2021/2022? Was going to get the Arcade 1Up but heard that some of the tables are unplayable and no intent to fix from the company. :(
Hey Roca, i’ll definitely revisit this topic in a future video. I have both the Atgames legends pinball and Arcade1up AFM pinball, so I’ve had time to play with both and my expectation a year ago was very wrong and hope to share that. The Arcade1up AFM had 2 tables unplayable and a fix has been released. Check the Arcade1up website for the firmware update.
A agree 24" doesn`t quite work from the perspective angle but 27" or above does cut it as I experiment with screens before I built my own mid sized machine powered by a gaming PC running at 120 fps
Where do you buy your mechanical pinball machines? Im seeing used for about 7k to 8k! Seems to much for me!
Good condition mechanical pinballs are becoming harder to find and for a decent price. If you’re in Oz, gumtree or FB marketplace is your best beat but the maintenance costs adds up.
@@ToyKade probably better to just go with virtual pinball like the arcade 1 up.....
Custom build my own 3/4 Iron Maiden theme pinball with 500 tables and don't regret it looking at these. 27" is the minimal size for a screen to be considered not a toy.
looks like im not getting any of these the screen is too small for me I like arcade 1up but the screen is too small I would get at game but it has problems

Already ordered the Star Wars A1up. I'm a Zen fan and this will be my first pinball machine, so I want it to be plug and play ready to go. May check out the ATGames later if the modding opportunities look tempting.
You didn't point out the different between a video game like V Pinball like Zen and real world Simulated V Pinball. And no one notice how easily that dude was banging that A1UP Zen Pinball machine.
I'd still love to get a second ToyShock, especially if it's got the Black Hole or Tee'd Off artwork and includes the other games that weren't available on the first cab that FarSight has (Tee'd Off, Cue Ball Wizard, Cactus Jack's, Wipe Out, Genie, Big Hunt, Gladiators, Rescue 911, El Dorado and Central Park). The Attack from Mars and Star Wars pins from Arcade1Up are must-haves too. I think the Legends one looks like a weird slice of cheese or something, the front is too narrow, the body is too long, it just looks awkward. So does the repackaged China bootleg one.
Check out the new redesign of the legends pinball, heaps better ruclips.net/video/BI2G9SE26TM/видео.html
I just bought me a Toyshock! With all the updates, this should be really fun! Will get it before New Years’! I’m excited about it. 😃
As small as the screen is on the Arcade1up, it looks the best IMO. I wonder if it would be easy to mount a larger display down the road... It looks like the inside walls are tapered. hmmmm
Cooltoy did a mod with a 32" screen that looked pretty damn good. But he advised that 27" might be better.
ruclips.net/video/XSF5jY2EDeE/видео.html
i pre-ordered the well played table top version..its cheaper than all the others and has same features as the larger one..they told me the delivery is pushed back to first week in December lol we shall see :)
I’m interested in this one! Can’t find much info about it though! Would like to see some serious info so I can get off the fence one way or the other!
Agree 100%. I'm going with attack for Mars I think if you're going to purchase an at games I think you wait and let them do all the fixing of the bugs and quality control
The AtGames looks the easiest to mod. I’m betting mine will be running every Pinball Arcade table in my library natively within the first week.
If you are fine with watching sports then 720 should be ok since live sports is in 720P. I own ATgames 1.0, and i am gonna suffer through by getting atgames pinball with low expectations for support or quality. I will also get Arcade1up pinball who has shown the resilience to address customers concerns and issues.
That’s exactly my expectations with ATgames after the gamer pro and ALU. For the price they offering it at, something has to give.
I am going for the at games but I got to wait cause I am after the ps5 first
Which one did you pre-order?

Includes extra 5 minutes of my first impression of the Legends Pinball
Generally speaking, I prefer Atgames products.
Because they are more in line with the Pinballgame I played in the past.
I am disappointed with my Arcade1up AFM, so I’m eager to get my hands on the AtGames Legends Pinball and see if they delivered the experience.
I was never a huge mechanical pinball fan however, I do like them. With that being said, I’m a huge Marvel & original Star Wars fan. So I preordered the Marvel table and plan to do the same with the Atgames pinball which I’ll be uploading all the Star Wars selections to and adding original character Star Wars artwork.
Will you be able to add those tables to the atgames cabinet though?
@@1RungAtATime add them probably not. They are exclusive to A1UP. But you can stream them through BYOG using steam connected by computer.
I've got a 1974 Bally Champ EM pinball I'm trying to restore (finding a backglass is a bear) so I love a more traditional real pinball feel. For me that means AtGames Legends Pinball and, funds permitting, an Arcade1Up Attack From Mars pinball.
1up Star Wars is already preordered , and I’m waiting every day for the Atgames to go up. These are the 2 to beat right now. The Mars table will be cool , but I can’t have em all. Room is just too tight.
That will be the on going dilemma.....”space”. I’m already parting ways with my wave 1 & 2 1ups to make way for pinball.
Great content. Where do you buy these in Australia?
Nothing concrete but Arcade1up and Toyshock pinball should be available next year. The only other way to import these is through ebay seller Rlipsey23. The au community has been using him alot. 👍
You should specify the specific resolutions because the 1up machines are definitely 720p.... 720p is what the Nintendo switch uses in portable mode lol.
ToyKade,
Great rundown! I'm interested in the tables you mentioned, Arcade1up's Attack From Mars and the AtGames Pinball. However, I'm going to have to wait for reviews on both. We already know Arcade1up's poor track record for Quality Control and their damaged out of the box experience, and I don't want to pay full price for that. And though AtGames have been knocking it out of the park with their other Arcade offerings, this will be their first run at a Pinball table. Again, if the majority of reviews on both are good, with no damage issues, I'll be getting both as well.
My only disappointment is the 720p resolution on the Arcade1up tables. I'll definitely take a resolution hit to eliminate flipper lag, so good on Arcade1up for making this choice, but it is a bummer for sure. The monitors in the Arcade1up pinball's, as far as I know, are 1080p, but for now, they can only run the tables at 720p. Maybe, if they make an upgrade kit for the Gen 1 tables when they release Gen 2, the new hardware (PCB) will have the power to run everything at 1080p. Fingers crossed.
A cool time to be a retro gamer, for sure!

Atgames has been knocking nothing out of the park. They went 5 months before meeting any supply demands. They went 9 months having no spare parts available. They offer onlyi a basic limited 30 warranty. Many have complained about QC on these units and lack of support.
Arcade Will,
I've heard about their problem with supply. That will be the same with the Pinball they've said. I hadn't heard about AtGames Quality Control as it pertains to their Arcade Cabinet line. Thank you so much for that information.
I'm am DEFINITELY holding off buying any of the new VPinball machines until there is a huge outpouring of positive reviews. I'm done being the 1st Gen Guinea Pig :)
vgv
Phil Savage,
Yeah, I was an early adopter of Arcade1up. I bought the Atari 12 in 1, one of their first run cabinets, which also came with their awful spinner solution; a dial like you'd find on a radio. If Glen from Glen's Retro Show didn't come up with a real spinner replacement, which I now have on my 12 in 1, I would've never bought another Arcade1up product again.
I've only had one outstanding cabinet experience with Arcade1up and that was with their Star Wars machine. This is my favorite Arcade game of all time and thank goodness they didn't screw that up :)
vgv
@@videogamevegasYeOldeAccount another early adopter of arcade1up Gen 1 cabs... I also have Glen's spinner. The man's a savior! I have 3 Gen 1 cabs and also Star Wars, which I love. I'm tempted to pre order the Star Wars pin but also waiting on full list for AfM. I read somewhere it'll include Medieval Madness, which is my favorite pin of all time. Maybe I'll just get both...
BreakingPintMedia,
Medieval Madness will be on the Attack From Mars Pinball. Here is the list of games that will be coming on that machine:
Attack from Mars
Fish Tales
The Getaway
Junk Yard
Medieval Madness
White Water
Red & Ted
Hurricane
Tales of the Arabian Nights
No Good Gofers
I hope the quality of the machine is good. If so, Attack From Mars for me :)

I agree mate. Also a very well done comparison...
Thanks mate 🙏 appreciate the kind words 👍
Dido! Thanks
should redo this since the Legends was redesigned
Check out my impression video of the redesign where i do ask the same question again. ruclips.net/video/BI2G9SE26TM/видео.html. Thanks for dropping by 👍
Yeah, I totally agree, fo sho...👍🏼💯✔
just picked up a 1uparcade attack from mars yesterday...I love it! Def not a real machine but 1300nzd I reckon is well spent...i'm 6"3 and don't find it too small and its certainly a challenge, yes minor lag but thats game play baby ya get used t it or stay shit its that simple!
I'm all for Arcade 1up. The size is Perfect for my space. Yes, a 24" screen is kinda small. They probably should have went with a 27". But that would have made it bigger & slightly more expensive. And u can't beat the 10 games included. The Atgames is too big and Dorky looking. Still nice, but takes up more space... Stay Safe, Be Safe!!!!
Agree! One of the great things about arcade1up is the size and portability. Atgames being big and 150lbs will cause more challenges.
From my perspective, a machine being big is kinda the point.
I got put off to buying Arcade1Up cabinets because when even with a Riser they're merely 5 feet, I tower over them, which runs in conflict with both my nostalgia and the visual aesthetic of an arcade machine. I wanna be able to rest my arms on the control panel of the machine, not the very top. AtGames machines are way closer to the size I think is best.
I have a 24" Virtual table and found it absolutely perfect. Trust me, it is adequate.
For me being an old fart, and having had some of the original full size tables in the past, a SMALL unit for me is key! I want something small with good quality because I don’t have much space and the wife..... well, you get it....
Actually, I don't see where they are getting the 24 inch display. I have both star wars and attack from Mars, and the actual playfield size is only 21 inches. (I measured!)
Nice review. Already ordered the Marvel cab from Arcade1up.
I love the unique games and want to experience the animated characters of virtual pinball.
Depending on my experience with the Marvel cab, might get the AfM cab as well.
Wish the Arcade1up screen was a 32, but it is what it is.
Wish someone would do a more intermediate VR pinball cab. Somewhere in the $1500 range.
The $5K to $7K machines are mindbending but definitely unrealistic for anyone but the rich or obsessed...lol
Unfortunately, even the $600 ($620 that Game Stop is charging me with taxes) is a reach for a lot of people.
Real pinball is a blast but being able to have multiple games in a single cab is definitely a cost effective treat.
Thanks for the review, and I hope I don’t suffer from Arcade1up inaugural gremlins....
Thanks mate! With Zen being heavily involve with the gen1 of these pinball it gives a bit more reassurance. Hope AFM preorders opens soon bc i really want this for xmas 👍
I'm still trying to decide whether I need these or can I live with just playing Pinball FX3 on my XBox One on my 50" screen with the speaker and subwoofer. The games look amazing. Particularly, Voltaire, Monster Bash, and Black Lagoon.
Play both.
I have the arcade1up Star Wars and Marvel machines and I love them both. I was seriously considering the Attack from Mars game but the underwhelming reviews have that on hold.
Simply amazing how much the prices have gone up in just two years. They're all now in the $800 range...... FORGET IT!
I hope 1up comes out with cyclone pinball machine
It's true that virtual pinball will never replace real, but neither will real replace virtual. Zen Pinball original titles for example. It's why I am considering getting the Star Wars arcade1up vs the Attack from Mars - the Star Wars/Marvel tables are all original creations that you will never find physically. AfM is all based on physical, real tables that I can potentially play in real life and would lack the creativeness that only a digital table could provide. Any thoughts?
Agreed I”m gunna get the Marvel pinball based on what you said, it’s all created by Zen studios hence making it unique.
Avi S, agree! That’s the great thing about arcade1up offering, the 3 cabs caters for multiple groups. Most of the titles on the AFM are mechanical pinball i want to own but in reality they are out of reach budget wise, for me Arcade1up offering of AFM is the next best thing 👍
Cool review
wellplayed pinball has the Zacaria games which is good, but no one knows much about it
I can’t find anywhere to actually take any pre orders, let alone somewhere that has the mini tabletop version available! Haven’t seen anything about it except these videos. Would sure like to know where to pick up one right now! It’s five days before x-mad 2020 right now! Anyone know where or when let me know please! I’d like to get it ASAP!
@@1bigrand1 Hammacher Schlemmer has them , mini only, gametop has the big one but not for purchase yet
@@davysmith8569 Uh, no, Hammacher Schlemmer does NOT have them. Called customer service there and they not only don’t have them, but have no idea when they will, or IF they’ll get them! They weren’t any help! GameStop, like you said, doesn’t have them and isn’t even taking pre-orders! Found out Toy Shock is gonna have one just like the Haunted House. Mini Tabletop with the new upgrades like adjustable legs, better speakers, fixed the flipper lag, ball launcher, and silver and black bezel! Only $249 for that, so I think I want that, whenever it does come out! Haven’t heard much of anything about that one, so who knows? Thanks for the reply, though! I appreciate it! 👍
@@1bigrand1 ah thats odd hammer needs to pull the mini from their website you can add to cart and everything. im guessing alot of this stuff is overseas and will take months to arrive
Davy Smith,
I know! I was told they didn't have any idea when or if they were gonna get them. Admitted that if I gave them my money, who knows when I would ever get the item! I couldn't believe it! Def should pull the ad! Won't ever buy anything from THEM!
So why tf are the arcade 1 up arcades $800 now?!?!?
AtGames seems the best option overall- pending actual use of course.
Does a virtual pinball machine really give you the same experience as a real one? Let say I have 2500 euros. Is a virtual pinball table better then a real one?
Virtual will never be better than a real one, but they are getting better, and the legends one made a redesign and they look much better.
Remember virtual machines don't break! I spent a fortune on my real pinball machine, finally sold it!
A real pinball machine will cost between $6000 to $13000. And, your only getting one machine. And it will require maintenance and things will wear out. Going to have to have a repairman handy.
A virtual machine will have at least 10 different table (in other words, it's like having 10 machines) and they can do things that would be impossible for a real machine to do. They don't require maintenance and are I think, every bit as much fun. And, they only cost around $700.
I would recommend Pinball Legends. 90% of full size, high definition, looks, feels and sounds very much like a real machine and comes with 22 different tables. And additional tables
can be downloaded for just a couple of bucks each.
So, $10000 for a real machine that is just one table, (and requires maintenance) or $700 for a virtual that feels and plays 95% of a real machine, requires no maintenance and is like having at least 22 different tables.
$10000 for one machine or $700 for (at least) 22 machines...
I am definitely down on that Arcade1Up Attack from Mars unit...and will likely attempt to grab an @Games if it shows up at Sam's since they already carry the Legends Ultimate. Keep trying to catch that on discount and narrowly missing it! ACK!!!
Never buy "version one."
The more I hear about these devices, the better I feel about assembling a computer inside a pinball machine cabinet. At least you can upgrade it, and just about every game worth playing is available on the Visual Pinball forums for free. On top of that, Visual Pinball gameplay and physics blow these Zen/Farsight video toys out of the water.
I like the fact you can add your “own” games to the legends pinball. But isn’t that promoting software piracy? Given, everybody does it like everybody used to record music off the radio onto tape, but building a business model that encourages copying of software doesn’t seem legit. I like the fact arcade1up is licensing the games so the original developers or current owners are getting a kick back too. For me that seems fair, and ultimately why I will be buying several from arcade1up. Starting with Star Wars
Atgames for sure. The only one that has a backglass that can change and the side art isn’t just for one game.
Great wealth of info, but I am left thinking you don’t want us buying any of these!
Currently shopping my first table..
I am really underwhelmed at the specs on the arcade1up machine. The 720p output is extremely off-putting, text is unreadable and image is a jaggies fest!
Not to mention the lack of leaderboards, expandability and game library.
On the other hand, I kind of prefer the overall look and finish of the backglass of the 1up vs the atgames. Well, minus the dmd screen that looks like bargain bin TFT screen off a laptop from 1992.
The atgames is barely more expensive in my area; full hd, bigger monitor, crisp text, online leaderboards, expandable library.
Atgames even sell the pcb board so you can use both screens from the single hdmi connector to help you connect your pc and play any pinball table/library you own, in cabinet mode.
Also having the entire Zaccaria library is a big plus as it feels like the most authentic physics out of the pinball games.
On the other hand, while I like the art on the machine, I don't like the overall look as much, and mot a fan of the "branding".
I feel it offers more modability though, so maybe mods to replace backglass and such are around the corner?
ATgames only ships to Canada, 1up ships to my country.
So that is a huge con/pro there.
i own all 3 arcade1up pinballs...and just finally got the at games pinball....with the modding i can do on the arcade1up....i got some great games on them.....you can hook a pc up to the atgames and play on there....i love all 4 of these tables......the weird navigation and how its set up on the at games is very confusing.....much easier and more simple on the arcade1up...the 32 inch 1080p /60fps...its GORGEOUS ....this is where arcade1up is lacking....it all depends on what games you are looking for...both arcade1up and at games are fantastic...i had a toy shock but traded it for burgertime (arcade1up) its was very small and the game selection was meh.
A plus that I hear from several of the reviews is that AtGames does updates to their software quite often. I view that as a good thing because if the original software has issues there is a chance the issues can be fixed. I tend to agree with BadDoomGuy that it can be quite risky buying First Gen Stuff. I'm afraid that my love for pinball will over-ride my better judgment. Since the AtGames Pinball has the ability to go on the internet gives me hope that most glitches can be dealt with. Worst case scenario I will have a case with a 32" 1080p monitor for the playfield and a 15.6" backglass monitor to do a mod.
Thats a “positive” I forgot to mention about atgames, they have been doing weekly updates for the Legends Ultimate consistently and turnaround time for major bugs has been good.
Nice Indy!
Thanks mate! Love my IJ and my newly Stern TMNT! Nothing beats that true silverball feel! 👍
I already have a PC virtual table, but if I had a choice, the Mars table would be right at the top!!!
Attack From Mars is at my top spot, though atgames is also still appealing. Somewhere down the road I feel like ill get both, but id really like to see an atgames review first (a1up is the only one ill blindly throw my money at). I'm weirdly interested in the well played tabletop as well, but that one will depend on a review and specifically its potential modability.
Hopefully preorders will be up soon for AFM! I’ll even throw my money blindly at the atgames but I highly doubt ill have an opportunity.
To be honest, it will take a lot of willpower to keep myself from getting the legends pin once it becomes available. If I say it out loud enough maybe I'll convince myself to wait. Siighlol.
AtGames all the way. The size, build quality, and versatility is unparalleled in my opinion. One machine to rule them all. I have friends that have 1up and they have to have multiple tiny machines to compete with my AtGames beast.
I enjoy original arcades and love what arcade 1 up has done. But for pinball machines ill save my money and get a real pinball machine.
Atgames for me
Wow, you can't show that dinky machine next to a 90's superwide mega machine like Indiana Jones! Because, screw the dinky machine... save up for an Indy. Seriously, it was well worth the wait to get a REAL machine and one like Indy is unbeatable. I miss mine. I had to sell it due to the pandemic. Boo.
Legends ultimate
Atgames. Theirs is quality. A1up is cheap. Fewer tables and worse picture quality. Can't even read anything on the table. Not to mention Those tables are so bare and mostly have ramps. Also feel small. Plus, the artwork for Mars is stretched and also cut off.
I must admit the quality on the A1up is best I've seen from them. I have yet to get my hands on an Atgames but I'm already certain it will be heaps better than A1up.
Why are all clever nerd , talking so dam farst. Speed?? “Normal slow” people cant folow. 🤓🇩🇰😔
Barley? It's *got* to be Bally hasn't it?? Double L.
If I find out it's actually pronounced barley after all these years, I'm moving to Canada
Atgames is more expensive and less interesting than Williams pinball arcade1up
wouldn't buy any of them, there toys rather than a real experience
Arcade 1up is 100 times better and more fun to play than atgames. Don't buy their trash
why do you even buy these shitty tables? from your videos, it seems like you have more than enough money. buy one of these 5k to 8k digital tables. they seem fantastic.
Your hard to understand.
arcade1up (and the other tiny ones) 3/4 scale is BS playfield is about 57% the size of a real table
